A few things I don't love when switching from iphone: The phone has 3 little waves in it, they don't interfere with functionality and they're hardly noticable while using, if at all... but I thought I had a faulty phone. Apparently it's normal. Duos is the new facetime and it works similar to skype. It has a very loud external speaker and you can hear very well talking normal, but talking on speaker is choppy and the person you're talking to can't hear you very well. There are many more positives and it has features to use it more like an Apple than Android or stay in Android setting mode! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!
I consider myself living in a pretty good life, but I am not paying a phone at $1000+. I always think ipad is priced pretty reasonable. When I compare price with flagship phone, I use ipad pro cost, mid range phone with regular ipad cost. People should realize a 11 inch ipad pro 256G is at $900, there is no way adding a 5G module and flex screen should offset 5 inch olead screen cost.
Totally agree! The phone, here in NZ, will be around 2.5k, complete rip off, it's a PHONE! 2.5K is a trip to the States and the Cape to watch a SpaceX launch, filmed on my cheap Note 9.
Super impressed with the upgrades on this phone, not to mention it's beautiful! Did it look somewhat like an LG G5 to anyone else in some of the shots?
I’m totally looking forward to seeing the future of folding phones. I’m due for a n upgrade and I’m seriously considering switching to this from my iPhone X
@@shannonjohnson4618 well, I did switch to it from my iPhone X, however after a few months my screen cracked randomly and died, so I switched to the iPhone 12 mini. Way better phone than the Z flip.
Primarily? The price tag. I had to make myself pay the price tag on the Note 10+ when I first got it, and these new folding and dual screen phones run 1.5-2x the price. I'll wait until that's the standard and the prices drop before I consider those options. Likewise, in the beginning they felt flimsy and easily broken, so I'm sure a lot of people want to wait until the tech has had a few years to mature into something stable before investing.
If phone companies are rebranding old ideas, like apple with their iPhone 12, ala old iPhone 5 design, and just adding new tech w/ a big price tag, I wonder if T-Mobile will bring back it’s old G1 slider phone? THAT phone was a CHAMP! 😂
While I find the idea interesting, I have lost faith in Motorola recently. I was very excited when I bought the Moto Z2 Play, thinking Moto Mods would be awesome and carry over from phone to phone, coming out with new ones, and I was in it for the long haul. Immediately after my warranty expired I started having battery issues and my mods started degrading either in battery or entirely in the case of the projector which no longer turns out at all. New mods stopped coming, and the newer models of the phone were coming out so frequently without any major changes, I gave up and went back to Samsung (I had a Note 4 before the Z2 Play, and now I have the Note 10+, couldn't be happier). So I'm avoiding Motorola for a few years to see if they can commit to making a quality product that's worth what you invest into it.
I was using motorola Z2 Play n Z2 Force, currently using Motorola One Vision and G Pixel 3a. Have a desire to buy this flip 5G. But seems the technology is naive, sensitive. Not for heavy use.
Looks awesome. Used to work in a phone shop back in the day when we sold the OG RAZR’s - nice product. Wireless charging would have been a nice add on but i get it would have had to be thicker and impede on the design and that other deep crimson red colour would have been nice too.. Just imagining iOS on it. I know, I know.. dont hate me but only 2yr updates isn’t great.. should be 3-4yrs and the creativity apps on iOS are much better for music making. But I really like it - oooh nostalgia! 😉
I think this is the way folding phones will go mainstream, we’ve been making phones smaller and smaller (thiner) for decades, to the point where all we had left to lose was the bezels, Moto have done miles better than Samsung at making a desirable folding phone, the z flip is ugly (in my opinion) and the fold, while drool worthy from a geek standpoint, is far too big and expensive for most people! I am really hoping that next year we will see an S21 Fold/Z. But back to Moto, beautiful design with noteworthy improvements and a price cut! I’ve missed clam shell phones and this just brings back so many fond memories I am considering switching from Samsung to Motorola!
Are you blind ? Look at these weird corners and that ugly notch of the Motorola 😂 Plus, the Z flip have way better specs for just 80$ more if you consider the 5g model, and it's cheaper if you go for the 4g model, then how is Motorola way better than Samsung at making desirable folding phones? Your comment isn't logical at all😂
Yup the game started from least bezels to making big phones one handy and this motorola razr 2 in 2020 is the right product we were running for, 21:9 ratio is one handy, top with flip and external display for priority work. This is what exactly one needs. Minimal to Maximal. All in One. I only wished they had given cover/case with it.
This will be a classic in 25 years. Grandkids will ask if I remember when we carried a cell phone everyday. Son, people use to stare at them all day long. Thats why old people walk hunched over now, if they leave the house.
Even though I had buying power for the Z fold2 and the Flip 5G, I chose this device because I know what the Razr is designed off of. Imagine It’s a lightweight race car, sure there’s always a bigger fish, but this phone shines where others don’t. I love the dual screen setup one small enough to glance and then the other for work.
It would be nice to have a "large" smart phone not taking up so much real estate on me. Not having a wireless charger feature seems to be my only deal breaker so far with actually getting one in the next few weeks
Ok so I held off for the razr 2 because I knew they would make better modifications. And I like this one..as far as it not having wireless charging, who rly can say they use that a lot? I had a phone with it and used it once or twice cuz I was able to but in a pinch I used my cable because I wanted consistent charging if I'm using my phone. So I'm glad it does have that feature
It’s a minor upgrade in my opinion but I like the added shortcuts on the outer display and the sim tray. No longer comes with headphones but also $100 cheaper. It’s a nice phone I’ve liked my Motorola razr but I see the Z fold 2 being better for your money.
Awww! Now I'm wishing I would've waited to get this one. Got the one that was released in February. The screen is already lifting and extremely squeeky

I just bought the 2020 RAZR..I love it. Its heavier than I hoped. I have been using a i7 for over 3 yrs. So Android is pretty close to apple but there some things to re-lurn. 4 sure
If only they could bring the price down. And they don't end up trying to compete with Samsung in the camera department. They could get ideas from the Pixel phones that mainly rely on software instead of hardware to liven up pictures. Also, the OG Razr was loved for its sleek style, and this iteration does seem to capture that look.
When you work construction its better to have a hard cover instead of an additional screen. Just saying. Also does it actually make that big a difference flipping it closed. The old flip phones were very portable and very durable..
Nice review. Personally I can't imagine why I would buy a foldable phone asca first, second or third phone when I want a large screen. I will wait for a deal on a previous generation Samsung Note. The word gimmick comes to mind especially at the ridiculous price.
Love the actual design but I have an s20 plus right now and going back to an older processor and 60 hz screen and such a small battery make this a tough choice right now

Yeah folding phones are cool but I hope no one expects decent money back when reselling it, since folding phones have a limited time of be able to fold, I mean I understand phone manufacturers are running out of ideas but I think phone hybrids are the future, what's the note 20 you can actually wirelessly hook up Samsung dex without a USB c to HDMI adapter but during the s8, You had to have a $80 HDMI dock to do Samsung dex. Anyways I wouldn't buy either this or the z flip 2 until they are 1K becuz both are these are in niche market at above 1K and I'm okay if neither can deliver these phones for 1k or less...non flip phones are way better anyways since the screen ain't folding...we are a long way out but non flip phones have bigger batteries and screens idk what ppl cheering lol it's the folding part that's it other than that, a non flip phone matches the resolution or surpasses both of them.
