I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm not a fan of the weapon size mod. Having the right sized weapon in the right places helped keep the character of the mech.
yea no restriction make mech OP just as that... 4xgauss anihilator or 2xgauss+2xerppc... too much alpha broke game. Its like next MWO there is no restriction and ppl crying about OP builds with high alpha. No skill just luck who 1st shoots most time wins... i like idea of fixed hardpoints then skills matter and what u can do with what u have.
Ahhhhh! That slot size mod is a game changer! Hello AC/20 Raven!!!!!!! The paint mod is great too. Glad you tried them out I didn't even know they had come about.... time for a fresh save run for me!
Love your videos and love this game. I've been in the hostpital the last 2 weeks but will be going home tomorrow I think. Can't wait to get back into it.
@Joseph Myers I received a miracle. Two different doctors said my throat cancer had returned. With chemo I had 8 months, without 3. Neither of them told me that, just my sisters. They told my preacher. When he found out, he performed an announcing on me. An anointing involves applying some oil to the subjects forehead and having a group of men pray hard for healing. It's very dependent on faith. If anyone in the group has any doubt about it working, it wont. Apparently, I had a good, faithful group of men. C I am now cancer free. The mass in my throat is now just irritated scar tissue from the radiation treatments I had on the first cancer. This all started a year ago in April.. In that time, I have gone from chunky obese 300lbs to a nice 230. I am getting better every day and feel better than I have in ages. People may scoff at laugh at the Christian faith but it can be a powerful thing to those that truly believe. I could go on and on about this but I don't want turn into a sermon.I All I can say is Thank you Jesus, praise the Lord.
You unloaded an SRM Volley into the Fire Starters back is what happened to him. You've been doing much better with your friendly fire but if I ever dropped with you I still wouldn't want you behind me...LOL
The paint saver mod is such a welcome quality of life addition. It was funny seeing how excited you were over it (but I don't blame you, it's great). Now that you're playing with mods, I highly recommend getting Better Spawns. -It doesn't make the game easier as far as I've noticed, but- it solves the really annoying random spawns behind you that you've complained about before. (Edit: Corrected by replies, it does make it easier but in my experience not so much that it ruins the fun of the game. Would be nice if an option was added to toggle off the reduced spawns, though, and just keep the dropship spawn mechanic for all the units) I have mixed feelings on the weapon loadout mod though. On the one hand I definitely like the added built freedom it gives you since I do feel like it's a little bit too limited in vanilla, BUT I don't like how it turns the game from "Find the right variant for the job" to "More hardpoints == better". Like, I enjoy using the Atlas RS since it gives the Atlas some more long-range options, but with this mod now there's absolutely no reason to use an RS over an Atlas D. But hey, it's your game and you play how it's fun for you. Enjoying the videos either way!
The spawn mod will make the game easier as now you know where the nasty tanks will come. MWO players will definitely happy with the loadout mods because it's similar system like in MWO. Yes, will make some mechs useless and the other OP, but it will make smaller tonnage mechs more viable in later missions.
well if you had no/normal tonnage limit i would not play the hardpoint mod. however, if you set yourself a challenge by using 250t max, i think you should be allowed to make the max with what you have, which involves using the best weapons without hardpoint size restrictions.
It is a great mod, isn't it? MWO HUD Layout and Papperdoll Orientation Fix by Navid A1 is the one I run. Increased Loadout Options by Gunganator is also a great mod.
The drop and evac zones are indeed weird sometimes. I think it would be cool if you could set your own zones in mission planning before you start the mission, and at the end of the mission it would try to pick you up from the nearest one but you should also be able to order it to a different landing zone if you want to.
What I like most about the weapon mount mod is being able to stick to 2 weapon groups as with a standard mouse. Some mechs come with 4 different weapon types and sizes and it gets so frustrating to use when you have only a 2 - button mouse to play with. Also I can mimic my fav MWO builds. Seems to also make the early game over powered but opens up the later game to fast mechs with high hit weapons. Good for me because I rarely play assaults in MWO.
I don't know if there is a mod that lets you choose certain items and then it informs you if they are on the market in the current system or not. Same thing with pilots (for example, displays a message if there is a double heat sink or gauss ammo on sale, or a 60-cap pilot available for hire). Could *significantly* reduce time spent on the market.
Night vision is really good in this game. There is a saying "almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades" LOL Some of that stuff you want only comes with the Clan invasion. Yes...large laser would be very good on this build.
I just have a little advice I see u like missle mechs I like laser an AC mech try to give your missle an AC mechs some laser so if u run into AMS an or a long fight they can still help out the lance an not be just a target keep up the good fight
One build I tinkered with after adding the loadout mod that worked well for warzones but was too slow for anything else was a dual gauss/dual AC2 burst fire Annihilator. Strip armour with the gauss, crit with the ac2s. 2 gauss slugs is enough to headshot anything as well so it's pretty good for salvage :)
Hey man I recently found your channel and lets just say I'll stay for a while! May I ask a quick question: do you know if there's a mod that makes the hardpoint system kinda like it was in MW4? So you could put two smaller weapons into a big slot (e.g. two lbx-10 in a king crab claw)? Either way, keep up the great work! Grüße aus Baden!

I think the weapon velocity mod it the best one. It does make aiming easier but (!) also for the enemy so it's fair. But ballistic weapons finally feel like they should, not like potato cannons.
I downloaded MW5 Reloaded and installed it. I am impressed. It returns that sense of infinite customization lost after MW3. Sadly, I still can't buy a 55 Ton Bushwhacker (the default mech in MW3), overload the shoulder mount with 3x ER L LASERs, compensate with a slightly smaller engine, and still move 64 kliks per. Gave it an AMS, and two Jets, too. A Tiny Tank with a leg amputating punch. I am currently working a lot of 50 ton content (200-ish ton missions), and I can customize a decent Hunchback (Full Armor, Gauss RIfle and LRM 10 at 71 kliks per) but I want that 55 ton Bushwhacker back. I also created the "Ultimate" Annihilator for gun jocks. 4x UAC5. It literally burns down enemy mechs. I can Hold The Button Down. Either single/consecutive or group fire options do well in this configuration, but opening up on an enemy with all four cannons blazing is the MW Shizzle. My cred? Never Played BattleTech (was playing Ogre/Gev), but I played MW 1 (286/88), 2 (came with all new Pentium 2 PC), 3 (Love it to life on my P3), 4/4/4, MWO (Dual Core), and now MW5 (8 core w/hyperthreading). My current graphics card is more powerful than the PC I played MW2 on. My current hard drive is 100 times as big, too. The times change, but the joy of driving enemy houses/clanners from the Inner Sphere remains. ;-)
Hardpoint sizes make better sense. Perhaps setting up a mod where different hardpoint sizes have a number of hardpoint points. So a slot with multiple small or medium slots could fit a large weapon in them by using up the points. Lots of mods to this game are more about making the game easier than actually adding QoL effects. The paint job mod is a good QoL mod. Most stock builds tend to skip on leg armor.
i guess a Large Laser would work well with the AL, maybe turn down to 2 ML (or a SRM4 which wouldnt be a big loss since the SRM6 spread the missles so bad u miss 2 or more almost on every shot anyways) and keep some HS, else it will get a bit toasty prob
also that Wolvie Q is sooo sexy (and amazing to pilot) i love that mech * ^^ * i would recommend tho to put the double into CT and put the 2 single into LT intead, that way u can use the Left side as shield side still without lose anything valuable
First Mission: There goes Ryana, picking you up in Zimbabwe!. lol There's also a mod that gives a more MWO HUD, it turns the display green though. And TTB used the weapon slot mod to make a Gausszilla Annihilator, but it had no armor! lol
A lot of mechs that have felt unusable now seem very interesting with the better loadouts mod! My SSD ran out of room for the new update, 1/30/20, so I had to wipe my old careers and reinstall on a new hard drive. However, I think I will start off with the mods installed. I was sad to lose my old careers, but I am definitely interested in what the new mods will allow for me to do with all the mechs!
dont you have to set up weapon groups for the black jacks lasers so the AI uses them? because with that heat management, they will never use 4mlas at the same time.
I can see how people love the weapon-slot mod. Still, my main problem with that game is that it does not really support teamwork. Many of the mechs were designed for a specific battlefield purpose and those roles only come to play in prolonged battles and by making teamwork essential. That is why we have so many custom builds, teamwork is not really needed because the battles are short and small, basically, all that is portrayed in-game is short raids. Just imagine having to fight for an hour or two in your mech. you do not have the ammo to spare for every flyer, that is your friend's job who is in a Jägermech or Rifleman, light scouts come into play as spotters and harassers. ETC. More tactics and some planing the mission could add to the game. All one currently needs is a mech that is really good at below 200m. I would start with a mod for making friend and foe withdraw to save their lives (might be nice) as well a better command interface for the lance. Besides that, I would make mech and mech parts acquisition much harder at least in a special "realistic" mode. One should think about staying on the battlefield after taking more than just armour damage...
I know mods can allow us to do awesome things , but also stupid insane rule breaking things. Is the mod that allow you to put a large laser in a small or medium slot even legit ? Is there a downside to this aspect of the mod ? On a different note , i would love it for the game to offer more missions diversity. I still haven't seen an escort mission , and the defend missions could be made harder by making the damage dealt to the builds scale a bit faster and forcing players to better aim at their targets. One thing i was hoping to see improve is the NPC AI. A simple extra command line that says ''do not fire if line of sight is obstructed by an ally or terrain'' would have sufficed. Take care bud.
A laser dakka mech might be fun, especially with the hardpoint mod. Maybe only large lasers on a mech for that pinpoint long range hitscan sniping? Or loading with pulse lasers for maximum pewpewpew. Or, also using the hardpoint mod, a pure missile mech. LRM15 x4. The Stalker might be able to equip that. Pure missiles and nothing else. Maximum long range fire support.
slight bit off topic: DOES ANYONE know a mod for MW:3 were you can immidiately fire your assigned weapongroups instead of having to cycle through them?
i would recomend playing through with no mods to get the full experience before modding the game but since you did that already i think the weapon mod will make the game much easier cause it will make heavy mechs assault mechs and mediums into heavys you were saying you needed a shadow hawk and you didnt buy it! with the mod you could have put an lbx 10 and a large laser on it
he needs a Grey death.. just got one. its SO SICK! i think he will like it more than the Quarantine he got in the other video. i put 4ML 2 srm4's and LBX10 with double sinks. all tier 4 weapons.
Lol, the reason freeman was so damaged is because you forgot to “repair all” him. Otherwise I’m not sure I like the idea of getting rid of the slot size restrictions. 😎
lol yeah its nice to see that baradull still bully his AI pilots (shot firestarter at back and wondered at 20 mins why its back was crit lol) and he really should rep those mech before dropping since he travelled so long ways and forgat to rep mechs... :D
i mean it IS a PVE game, so play in any way you enjoy most ... but yea i´ll probably not gonna use the hardpoint restrictionmod.. personaly i rather wait for the ability to equip different engines, ferro fibrious and endosteel ... .. and GIVE ME MY FAFNIR DAMNIT!!!
@@HaqqAttak well they stated a reason for it though, this game starting at the early years far before the clan invasion most technology and costumisationability was not available or lost in the successionwars ... it still offers a story and mechvariants as well as coop, which imo is much better than MW:4 Mercs (aside from about 2/3 of the weapons being hitscan in that game along with small weapons simply being utterly worthless) ... so i can take that for 40 bucks ... what i can not take is the epic exclusivity and PGI bait and switching on the steampreorders, that´s some serious BS ..
Man! If you wanted to restrict yourself you should really prohibit yourself from maxing out the armour on every single mech you build. Restrict yourself to original armour... ;-)
Yea, I wondered about that as well. They could just offer the moders a small one-time payment and include the mods in an update for which the user might have to pay as well, maybe even with checkboxes so that you can activate or deactivate them. Would generate more money for the company as well as a bit for the moder. Personally, I think they would enhance the game that way and enhance long term interest and sales.
No. In Tabletop, and other mechwarrior games, the limit is the slot count on each compartment along with the weight. So, if a weapon takes 10 slots and your arm only has 8, then you can't mount that weapon even if you have the tonnage for it. The default system in this game is simplified for no reason at all.
I'm gonna have to try this game out with my modified steel battalion controller. imgur.com/gallery/vtc5C I just wish Mechwarrior 5 had VR support. I don't use my steel battalion controller often, or my vive. This would be a great opportunity to use both.
I have to agree. The limited loadouts are pretty cool and made me get creative with my loadouts. I would like to see more real variants of mechs though.
@@conflicthorizon Absolutely agree with the more mech variants, sure eventually clan mechs etc will be added as well. Retrofitting mechs with weapons they can't take though not for me. There are plenty of load outs you can have fun with without resorting to that. Might as well have infinite credits and reduced spawns whilst you are at it.
@@conflicthorizon It kind of does but it's fun. Sticking a gauss rifle in a medium mech? It's funny. Then again, I loved the system from Mechwarrior 2 where if you had the tonnage and slots you could mount it, similar to the early tabletop rules. I have both a modded and unmodded campaign running though so I can switch back to vanilla. Well, with the exception of the HUD and paint mods. Those are staying.
you're still tonnage capped.... its not like he can put 4 ac20's on one mech.... well you can but then you got no armor. We just need a difficulty mod to make it more challanging so we can still do crazy builds but then need them also.
The restrictions to weapon slots was needed as the builds in mwo are stupid. Forces more thought into builds and make some mech variants more important. Game play and balance can be done better because don't need to add things like ghost heat
I don't care for these balance crushing mods like this ignoring hard points thing and the better spawns. Install those and you're playing on easy mode.
From all the content on this game I've watched I'm sorry to say Freeman is a bit shit. He always destroys the mechs he pilots and it's like you've said yourself his defense skill it just not high enough. Honestly the best thing that can happen is he gets killed early or you just fire him once you're into heavy mech territory...
So you can actually mod this game to start with like a Warhammer? I cant say im a fan of how we can just Koolaid man through all the buildings.......I get were a mech, but still..seems really kinda retarded.
Removing hardpoint restrictions is one of the best mods to come out for this game (for me.) Removing the restrictions makes it the most important mod in my load order.
Screw challenge, for some friggin reason Fasa and PGI figured someone like me didn't want a mech that used enough machineguns as a primary weapon other than a light ;)
If you put in all those mods you mentioned you might as well just play mechwarrior online and throw this game away. There should be build limitations. That's the point of the different mechs.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm not a fan of the weapon size mod. Having the right sized weapon in the right places helped keep the character of the mech.

They need to come out with a long tom
And also I hope they would update MWO like Merc 5.
Hey Baradul you haven't done a Battlemaster in MWO in a spell! Give it a shot! Do like I dunno, a medium lasers packed build
so you can make gauss locust now?
How do Mods work with Co-op?
A laser dakka mech might be fun, especially with the hardpoint mod. Maybe only large lasers on a mech for that pinpoint long range hitscan sniping? Or loading with pulse lasers for maximum pewpewpew. Or, also using the hardpoint mod, a pure missile mech. LRM15 x4. The Stalker might be able to equip that. Pure missiles and nothing else. Maximum long range fire support.
you need to do the hud mod
slight bit off topic: DOES ANYONE know a mod for MW:3 were you can immidiately fire your assigned weapongroups instead of having to cycle through them?
i would recomend playing through with no mods to get the full experience before modding the game but since you did that already i think the weapon mod will make the game much easier cause it will make heavy mechs assault mechs and mediums into heavys you were saying you needed a shadow hawk and you didnt buy it! with the mod you could have put an lbx 10 and a large laser on it
he needs a Grey death.. just got one. its SO SICK! i think he will like it more than the Quarantine he got in the other video. i put 4ML 2 srm4's and LBX10 with double sinks. all tier 4 weapons.
@@alexanderdooley5833 i hear you, i got the grey death as well and it is really good i put an lbx slug 4 med lasers and 2 streak 2's its fantastic
Game wasn't exactly hard in the first place. Might as well have a button that gives you free atlas's when you press it.
Should add a mod if one is available to be able to sell mechs from storage.
With the new update you can sell Mechs from storage.
Awesome!
I would appreciate to have bigger cold storage, i just hope that PGI will do it, i do not like downloading unofficial files.
yeah they should change selling mech to cold storage rather than those used mech lance slots if it so hard make it selling from both...
@@jerehelenius523 according the last patch it is now possible to sell from cold storage, i like this feature too.
Do not be afraid to give Quarantine to your AI pilots. My AI pilots did very well in Quarantine.
PLEASE make a vid on how to get the max garage slots from the new event !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once you've tried out a load of mods, how about doing a mod roundup video?
i mean it IS a PVE game, so play in any way you enjoy most ... but yea i´ll probably not gonna use the hardpoint restrictionmod..
personaly i rather wait for the ability to equip different engines, ferro fibrious and endosteel ... ..
and GIVE ME MY FAFNIR DAMNIT!!!
The lack of features in this full price game is astounding.
Restrict yourself to original armour... ;-)
My biggest complaints with the game is the lack of mech variety and it's too easy to get heavy and assault mechs in the early game.
... There are 51 mech chassis in game, most with 2+ variations each.
What kind of variety are you looking for?
Plus hero mechs. Nothing is ever enough. More this. More that.
Why these mods didn't come standard with the game is beyond me.
BJ did 379 dmg, took 100.
meh. i disagree with the mod of taking the hardpoint restriction away. isn't that the point of the many different variants of the mechs you can find?
No. In Tabletop, and other mechwarrior games, the limit is the slot count on each compartment along with the weight. So, if a weapon takes 10 slots and your arm only has 8, then you can't mount that weapon even if you have the tonnage for it. The default system in this game is simplified for no reason at all.
I'm gonna have to try this game out with my modified steel battalion controller. imgur.com/gallery/vtc5C
I just wish Mechwarrior 5 had VR support. I don't use my steel battalion controller often, or my vive. This would be a great opportunity to use both.
No objection to first two mods but the better build mod is just cheating.
Using mods to make things more interesting is going to be the only thing that gives this game any kind of hope to keep people playing until dlc
you're still tonnage capped.... its not like he can put 4 ac20's on one mech.... well you can but then you got no armor. We just need a difficulty mod to make it more challanging so we can still do crazy builds but then need them also.
Modification is just a nice word for cheating.
Honestly the best thing that can happen is he gets killed early or you just fire him once you're into heavy mech territory...
need a sell from storage mod!
Current patch has solved that!!!1111
@@Baradul oooh has it?! I have not booted it in a while sorry.
@@Baradul oooh mein gott, na endlich.
Danke für die info
So you can actually mod this game to start with like a Warhammer?
I cant say im a fan of how we can just Koolaid man through all the buildings.......I get were a mech, but still..seems really kinda retarded.
the limanations of the mec is what make the game.. the secound u start modeing it takes away the value of the game play
You've never responded to any of my comments and I don't expect you to.
Removing hardpoint restrictions is one of the best mods to come out for this game (for me.) Removing the restrictions makes it the most important mod in my load order.
The weaponry mod is really quite boring, basically it all just comes down to availiable tonnage and makes it so various chassis are pointless
Yay for removing mech vairant and making everyting generic, yay for Meta, yay for no challenge
Screw challenge, for some friggin reason Fasa and PGI figured someone like me didn't want a mech that used enough machineguns as a primary weapon other than a light ;)
Screw creativity and theory crafting, screw non-grindy gameplay and screw making salvage relevant.
If you put in all those mods you mentioned you might as well just play mechwarrior online and throw this game away. There should be build limitations. That's the point of the different mechs.
"Different builds" but all i hear, is SRM, SRM, SRM....... And watch missing, missing, missing... except for derringer range.....
First maybe... I would like to take time to think all of the little people who contributed to me being here...
You finally do not go to "home" screen to click on the "wait" button. I gave you this advice in your first playthrough but you ignored it.
Maybe he doesn't have time to read all of the comments on his channel!? He also has a life besides beeing a content creator.
