It's not propaganda. He said there are opinions that there should be many guns or guns should be strongly regulated. But as long as people will make parts that make it easy for anyone to make their own guns at home it's a moot point because it's extremely difficult to regulate something that people can just make at home with readily available materials and machines

@@oakinwol A militia isn't regulated on its capabilities but it's organization of members in it. The arms that whichever militia is equipping themselves with shouldn't be regulated or in better terms limited or restricted. The context of regulated in the 2nd amendment isn't about limitations but more about being prepared in a more organized manner.
@@KrispyRootbeer the context of the 2nd ammendment was 13 colonies giving up some individual power to form a federal government. The idea that the second ammendment was written to protect individual rights to completely unregulated arms is completely untenable in context. It's also not what we do, since you can't buy surface to air missiles. If you're actually interested in why the 2nd ammendment was written you can go read about the discussions they were having. Would you change your mind if those discussions are not in line with what you've been told?
Under the Nat'l Firearms Act 0f 1934 and Gun Control Act of 1968 it is perfectly legal for any non-felon to make a gun in the comfort of their own home. How does that qualify as a "loop-hole"? It isn't a loop-hole, it is the INTENT of the law.
Plus the act requires a home made guns to have a serial number. They said it did not which is false. Even if making guns where illegal, how would that stop criminals from making them? It sounds like Vice is admitting gun control does not work.
Yes- to have a serial number. But it isn't required to be registered. Only those to be home built after July 2018 (In Cali)
There is no national requirement for registration either.
It's the intent of the Constitution as well, directed by the Second and Ninth Amendments that we have the Right to build our own anything. As far as requiring a serial number, that would be an infringement of our Rights, especially the Second Amendment that says shall not be infringed. The reason that I say that it is an infringement is because it does not specifically state that to keep and carry a firearm, it must be serialized and or registered in order to be legal, and no such requirements should be placed upon the people of this nation at any level of government. Until a firearm is used in a crime it's none of the government's business who built it or possesses it period.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Hyper focusing on gun's effect on safety is a very narrow minded way to approach the issue. If the government had the ability to ban alcohol for example I don't think many would be persuaded by the drunk driving statistics. Too many people are willing to throw others under the bus just because they personally don't like firearms and want to frame it from a very particular point of view.

If we decided the ends justified the means in 1860 than we could say the same in any time, troubled times are not the times to do away with ideals, they're the only time for them.
As for guns that civil war or militia uprising is exactly what was intended. While I'd certainly hope it never happens it's not as though there are a bunch of people trying to become the new Grand high warlord of Maimi or whatever. I won't pretend I think that day will come in my life time but doing away with it as a precaution is very short sited. There is no reason to examine our core rights and appraise them based on need. Firstly the second amendment is there in case a war needs to be waged but even then could the same not be said of freedom of speech? Oh you don't need to be able to say racist things becomes oh you don't need to say offensive things which then becomes oh you don't need to say mean things.
When you start trying to axe your own rights it's a pretty self destructive idea that isn't going to stop where you think it will, nor will it have the results you intend.

A ghost gun like the one shown in the video is not fully automatic, it is semi-automatic, which in layman's terms mean's one bullet is fired for every squeeze of the trigger.
Jerry Miculek, a man who specializes in fast shooting, was only able to pull the trigger on a semi-automatic rifle 6 times in one second.. or, 3 times in half a second. Hardly 30 rounds in half a second, as you stated.
Even a fully automatic rifle fires at a rate of 800 rounds per minute. 800/60 =13.333 rounds per second or 13.3333/2 =6.666 rounds per half second. Hardly 30 rounds per half second, as you stated.

For example, the state of Maryland has a rate of 47.92 per 100,000 (a state that has pretty strict gun laws) vs the state of Kansas that has a rate of 13.4 per 100,000 (a state that has really lax gun laws).
At these moments I'm happy I live in Europe.

How to make your own “assault rifle”
Step 1: buy $20,000 worth of machine equipment
Step 2: spend several months and several more thousands of dollars to learn how to use that equipment
Step 3: build your “assault rifle”
Easy right?
Nah, that's way too much to spend on equipment. All you really need is a vice clamped to a bench to hold an 80% receiver in a jig like the 5D tactical kit, and a small router like a Dewalt 611, and a decent drill (drill press is better). I figure about $400 in tools, and $400 for the parts (rifle parts kit, 80% receiver, magazine). Its not incredibly hard as long as you aren't completely stupid or have some unfortunate physical handicap, and have an afternoon to spend cutting up metal in a garage.
M249MachineGun well yeah $20k was a bit of an exaggeration, but I was referring to the guy they first interviewed around 2:00. I’m pretty sure he was making the complete lower receiver, not buying the 80% and then drilling it out.
