Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.
Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018. - เกม

Can we please get more Go Fest in the Midwest 😭 I wish I played during the Chicago ones
Id love to see a month long global gofest where the raids switch weekly, even if its just during the weekends . Yes in person gofests are fun but they are incredibly costly and exclude the vast majority of the community.
A month long global gofest would allow the game to highlight the most hyped pokemon and not have the event feel stale like it does usually halfway through a rotation. Perhaps one weekend you do the trio of rayquaza, groudon & kyogre, the next you do the ultra beasts, the following raid bosses that havent been back in 2+ years like armored mewtwo with the final weekend being a newly released mega.
The hype generated by an insane month of play can carry the game much further than a few days of pokemon we may or may not be excited for and the game desperately needs some wind in its sails.

And it’s not just up to where people want Go Fest but how the city reacts and supports it.

What would be neat is if they were able to make Go Tour in multiple cities. Even if they just send a kit to Ambassadors and it contains materials to mark the occasion and a special note that "this Pokemon was caught at Go Tour:(Your City) Special Event". Meet your Ambassadors and get a pin or something. I remember when I went to Orlando for family time, Wifey and I met with the Discord group for Garchomp Raid Day and we got pins, which made the day even more memorable! So even a small pin that says Go Tour: (Your City) would make a great memory.
I’m here in New York and I did the citywide gameplay today. The raids were really buggy. So I’m hoping that doesn’t continue. I did pretty good with the shiny catching though! I love walking around New York but I do hope they choose other places for the next few events.

Yes it’s the best but I do think the venue should change. They had a Go Fest in Seattle already I went to it in 2022. I’m glad that you are staying longer as meeting the community the best part especially for trading

Do you just take one charger with you? If I’m going to be away from home I take several with me, just in case.
My friend is playing go fest for me Sunday. She’s there playing different accounts each day of go fest lol def need to clear myself a lot of storage

Pokemon HOME is not long-term PokemonGO storage because it is only one way.
HOME for free is only 30 slots, so its not very helpful in this regard either.
It should be held each year in all metro areas over 1M people. That's my opinion !
If you don't live in CA, NY or ILL you're nothing to Niantic.
Unrelated question, but do you guys think Go will ever see Z Moves? I just imagine they could put it in sort of like how Spacial rend is under the normal moves. You could activate it and then use it once during a raid or something. Idk. I just see this picture with the giant Wartortle and cant help but recall this mechanic too. 😅

To your point at 3:00ish, when you meet and talk with people in real life, I wouldnt be surprised if they were more positive than comment sections--which we know are notorious for keyboard warriors.

They should have the Citywide experience in one or two major cities in every major country worldwide. They could easily do that. I would happily pay the City experience ticket price for the bonuses and shinies you get at an in person event, rather than a global Gofest....Never understood why Niantic don't just do that? If anything I would happily ditch the in person half day if we get 3 days City Experience for each GoFest.... Niantic would still achieve their in person philosophy with people meeting up in cities, but it should still give folk who have other commitments or don't want to meet up with strangers the CHOICE to play Gofest each year and not miss out ( and Global GFest is nowhere near as much fun or has the same bonuses and rates)...
Can we talk about elephant in the room that some TH-camrs make videos are faking their game and the RNG why else would they get shinnies in like seconds.
