I stand by my take that by the end of the 80s, SKid Row was the apex predator of the live bands. Saw 'em twice and they were nuts. Dave and Scotti were easily the best guitar duo of the era.
That was great Festival, Moscow also had marathon that weekend. Couple years later Moscow had another festival with Metallica, Pantera, Black Crows, AC/DC and few Russian bands. That was a different feel festival, but very epic.
They needed a big screen for the people. Even in 1989 they were using big screens for concerts. They weren't as big or as good as what we have now but they helped to see the artists in a venue this size for sure. Too bad. Oh and the motto was "No Drugs" I didn't hear anything about no booze except from that one "Doctor" introducing the Festival. LOL. The Vodka would have been flowing baby!

If they stuck with that name, I think they would have been huge and even been able to ride out the grunge movement, as by the 90's, they were moving in a more rootsy direction. They would have sat comfortably among GnR, the Crowes and Soundgarden. That name change was really short sighted in hindsight and painted them in a corner they didn't belong in.
Totally agree maybe not with Saints in Hell 😂 but definitely could of been something other than Cinderella it just did not suit their style it's (July 2023 and listening to still climbing after listening to the first 3 albums lol😅)

The military, fraternities, businessmen and patriotism were very uncool. It was about natural substances and organic hallucinogens and dismantelling the system through non-participation. When cocaine became popular the peace movement and the music died. Gen X is our worst nightmare -- our parents.
