Richard Leitch was one of my best friends in the 1970s & 80s. I met him when I was a kid working for Bill Pereira. RL had moved to Laguna Beach and had all kinds of smart projects. He owned a 'Pole House' (Japanese Wood Pavilion) company in Hawaii. At the end of his life he was trying to sell/give me all his brands. I had no idea abut his work in PS. Kinda emotional for me to watch this.
Gorgeous! I like how he says: "it is one year of my life" so i need to make it right. Meaningful thoughtful working and leaving. So many of us just work and see the life passing.
Really wonderful that you can spend that time with your son and that the experience will live on through the house _ leaving both a physical legacy and memories...
The Avante was designed by a couple young car designers in a house in Palm Springs in the neighborhood above Vista Chino and Raymond lowey checked in on them to see their progress on the car
Great house and story. My parents lived in the Coachella Valley for many years starting out in Rancho Mirage, moving east to Indian Wells and then Indio. Palm Springs is the Mecca of MCM architecture and lifestyle!
I LOVE this house, and the story behind it. I particularly love the details of the tiles, wallpaper, and fabrics that were used. That shower is a knockout!
I really enjoyed watching the whole video also classical car made go wow... It's a very beautiful car. The swimming pool is so relaxing too Thank you for sharing
Nice house. I counted 5 different designs of exterior furniture, it would look so much better with 1, maybe 2 . Actually no outside furniture at all would look better than 5.
Helping your child become independent doesn’t mean kicking them out or sending them to college at 18 just bc you’re legally allowed to do so. It means spending the time with them to ensure they will become independent, if they choose to do so. ;)

I knew I liked this home owner, then saw the Avante and KNEW he was an ace human!

13,000 SF lot in Rancho Mirage. Gimme. Gimme.
Where does life take place if not in space? We should pay more attention to our built spaces
must be nice to have ridiculous amounts of bling.
name of the song in the background?

Did they ever say, why they did not remove those additions, and restore to the architect’s 1,500 sq foot design ???
Probably because people still need to live in a house. It’s not a museum
I thought it was a house, before additions ?
😍
Strange linguistic phenomenon - he speaks only in the present tense.
He doesn't know how to use the past tenses. Speaks in the present only.
