That color scheme is almost sacrilegious in the machining industry which is why I LIKE IT! Definitely a class act! I hope to be acquiring one soon so I may have to try and one up you on the colors. It all depends upon it's needs and my ambition. Well done video.
I think the paint scheme is awesome! I have wanted a Bridgeport Mill forever and really hope to be able to find the right one for me when my shop gets built (Probably 2 years out at least). I just don't have room in my garage for any more equipment :( I work wood and metal and dabble in a bit of forging and fabricating so it is packed out to its max for now haha!
Your money mate do as you please, you did not do a refurbishment on your machine, you gave it a paint job. A refurbished machine would have all ways scraped back to as new specs, all bearings inspected and replaced especially spindle bearings. Good luck it looks in pretty reasonable shape from a operational perspective.
Man, that was a lot of work & kudos for just being able to keep up with all those parts you pulled off... Looks great, though! I initially thought it might have been a Crow T Robot thing, but Stark Industries makes more sense ;)
You've done amazing job! I know how much time and effort it takes. I love this color mix, i call it "colors that i should paint my mill with" :D Hope you are happy with your new tool
Great job! About how many hours in total did you spend on this project? I had considered doing a similar mill, but decided against it due to the time commitment.
I sure don't know what to say about your color choices. For me when using my Bridgeport I like the more calming effects of the more traditional colors. Wow you sure did a nice job!! I didn't see how long this took?
Really, way more showing off the comic book colors than talking about what and how you did it. Plus, you left all the holes to the precision surfaces uncovered so that the dust from removing the paint was allowed in. Too bad you're messing up those precision 50 year old surfaces to paint it like you're a early comic book teen.
The spirit of some of these comments is a little meh, but I have to agree slightly that this was a great opportunity to measure/scrape some obviously worn ways. As long as it doesn't impact your use case, though, who cares? Not every project needs every last drop of accuracy or precision.
What? He literally just cleaned and painted a machine. If you don't like his paint scheme, that's your problem. You're free to go buy it and bring it back to the factory puke green-gray color lol.
In my opinion he has shown his labor of love and further more he is an artist. I also believe that it runs way better now than what the previous owner had on his hands. Right?
Looks good but how does it work? It seems all you have done is strip it, clean it and paint it. Looking good is the least important aspect of a milling machine - it's how accurate it is. Even good Bridgeports were never the most accurate of machines and this one is over 43 years old. How much wear does the machine have? You've made it look brand new (sort of) but it could be totally worn out. Can you tell us what checks and measurements you did and what the accuracy of this machine is?

Thank you! Good luck. I hope you get one soon. Let me know what color you go with!
Having a Bridgeport in your garage: 10/10 on the badassery meter. Beautiful job. I ran one of these in the late 80s. They're amazing.
Thanks!! I love it! Still pinching myself that I have one after all this time.
A little bit of color is a good thing! Too many dark and grey days...
Well done Sir.

Masterfully done, my friend!

Lol. Same text I was gong to write. Thats just partial cleaning and paint job. Paint scheme is terrible.
Totally agree. Repaint( badly and an awful colour scheme) ruined a perfectly good machine. It will OK for KoKo the clown though
That machine is capable of some fine tolerance machining in the right hands. I made parts for all over the world on those machines.
Great result! and love the color pattern of choice 😁
Thank you!!
That in its time was a precision matching tool.I hope he gives it some respect.

Did you lap the ways?
Great video....what's the song at the 3:50 mark
Hello, I just subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for the content.
Take care, EM.

Hope you are happy with your new tool
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m loving it!
Didn't hear it run and see it's functions
It looks really good, I was thinking of doing that with red and black to match my Craftsman tool boxes. Can you post pictures of the mill?
Really nice job. I 😍 loved. Congratulations
Thank you!
Those knee/saddle (Y axis) ways were in really great shape for the condition of the rest of the machine. Were they rescraped?
Not that I know of.
chromed ways by the looks
I like it!
Why the music
ole Howard Stark and his boy tony would be proud. thats a later model than the j head correct?
This was incredible! I got a little nervous seeing how many parts were needing to come off initially haha.
I may be mistaken, but the orangish color primer uncovered is probably 'red lead'.
Looks like the machine was in fair shape, however, I'm sorry to see the multi color on it that doesn’t look like a Bridgeport mill.
It’s unique. I’m more artist than machinist. So I like it.
Call it a peice of art!
Great job! About how many hours in total did you spend on this project? I had considered doing a similar mill, but decided against it due to the time commitment.
Thanks!!! Hard to say how many hours. It took my about a month of nights and weekends. Wasn’t horrible. But is definitely a time commitment.

You steal wired off all the body filler they put on the casting to make them smooth!
You painted it
I think it needs another coat!
Oh the things my eyes have seen! 😞
Sooo cool man
Thanks!
@@JeremiahDaws how did you keep track of all the parts so you could put it back together again??
Paint Scheme is fine if you were a Pimp in the 1970's - or Maybe Ronald McDonald - Hideous otherwise -
Ohh I think I was the only painting like super heroes my tools my hydraulic press it's painted like hulk and my arm crane like Spiderman
Amazing. I want to see pictures!
nice

National colors off Belgium ( vertical ) and Germany ( horizontal )
WD40 isn’t a lubricant and isn’t even a good rust preventer. I’d keep an eye on all the areas you used it…

Thanks Allen. Yeah for what I use it for, this is exactly what I needed. I love it and use it quite often.
Horrendous!!
WFT you ruined a Bridgeport what's your problem!
Couldn't agree more. With that colour scheme it looks like something you would get in a McDonalds lucky bag. Rubbish.
What? He literally just cleaned and painted a machine. If you don't like his paint scheme, that's your problem. You're free to go buy it and bring it back to the factory puke green-gray color lol.

Wow it looks like a candy floss machine just horrible sad to see the outcome

Lots of work, but...why? Well, it's your machine and you can do whatever it is you please with it. Enjoy your BP!
Looks like hard work 😓. Hope paint will stand up to suds as found it is one of the worlds best paint removers.🫣
