  • Author Paul Tremblay (THE CABIN AT THE END OF THE WORLD, A HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS) joins the show to reflect on having his work adapted for the first time by director M. Night Shyamalan, including his frustrations with changes made to his original concept. In episode 299, Luke Elliott & James Bailey launch a new series called “Creative Conversations” where they discuss adaptations previously covered on Ink to Film with someone directly involved in their production. Paul shares his experience from first selling the option, to his visit to the set, and the year since the film premiered. This conversation contains SPOILERS for the ending of both the book and the film!

Thanks! It was a little bit of a shift for us going to more of an interview style, but hopefully it still felt like Ink to Film.

Love this interview. I would love to hear Iain Reid’s opinion on Charlie Kaufmans film adaptation of “Im Thinking of Ending Things”.
Personally I loved what Charlie added to the story with his take on the farmhouse scene (so much I wish it were in the book) and I strongly disliked how he chose to end the film.

That's a great suggestion, and it's of an adaptation we covered in the past--which is perfect!
