He really wasnt though. listen to his last song ever recorded - Mother Love. Nice performance by all means, but his voice is nowhere near as rich and full as it was in his prime
I have to argue, during the chorus when he's really belting it out (out in the city in the cold world outside, etc.) his voice still sounds incredibly strong.
Hans Olav Bakken You're nitpicking. We all know his voice wasn't what it was pre-illness, but all things considered it was still in top form towards the end. That was the point of my post.
I could just listen to Freddie nonstop forever. A real example of someone who found their calling. You know he trained to be be a graphic designer? What a hole in the world his absence from art would've left
Matteo Rossi his voice changed due the illness "love of my life" was recorded in the late 70's and he was a healthy man and "I want it all' was recored in 1989. He was dying from aids. But yeah he had such an unique and amazing vocal range
Thomas Crane I disagree with you because Freddie sang Don’t try so hard from the Innuendo album flawlessly in a similar tone to love if my life. I think he could just sing in any style that suited the song
@@iwanjones9360 Well if his voice mostly used up touring with aids in 1985-1986, this was recorded 1988. By the time he recorded Innuendo his voice rested from touring, so that's why he had so much lighter voice. (Also he started to take vocal lessons for the first time in his life in 1987) His base voice is a heavier tenor voice, but tenor nonetheless, that become apparent when his voice had the time to rest even in his 40's. His "tenorness" is apparent in Show Must Go On, at the beggining very agile light voice with held out B4 in the chorus, hitting D5 in chest at the end.
Trixmay 988 welp your opinion is invalid he is the greatest rock vocalist ever, PERIOD. if you were going to say Elvis then you would have to be completely crazy

Very much a GOLDEN VOICE that will be remembered in the past and in the future. Nice to know there is an audience in today's generation that can give such a tribute to a man with so much talent. Some are long forgotten-but I see that there are many that acknowledge this man and his goals in life. He was a genuine Human Being that cared about his public. That's why he was such a perfectionist. Such songs as I Want It All give a reality to understanding what we as individuals want to accomplish-sometimes it is beyond our reach-and other times it becomes clear. You just have to value yourself to do the right things and follow your own steps to make it happen. Freddie tells you this in his songs. Don't we all want to be "Champions" in our own right in the end?
Mike Strawn everyone said he was a perfectionist for the very reason, the fans. He always remembered that the fans were the reason he had what he had and wanted everything perfect for them.
