Will the legend *Ray Williams* make his *comeback* in 2024?
no
No he won't, those squats are not legit. Come on, he is two inches from parallel. He just got a good lift because he is famous.
@@windsolarupnorth7084 You blind? Looks like he sank the squats lol
jaw dropped with his third squat
Fr😮
Faster than the 445 it looked like too
The ray vs Jesus battle will be LEGENDARY
Not hating at all but I don't see that happening. Ray Williams is far past his prime and still hasn't recovered from the flu he suffered in 2019. Jesus Olivares vs Temur Samkharadze is more realistic. Temur totaled 1,063.5kg at europeans and out-deadlifted Ray Williams' old record too earlier today. Temur is only 23 years old as well.
Jesus kills him (he had one off meet and still whooped that ass) 😂😂😂😂😂
Who win?
me
Jesus totaled 80kgs/176lbs more than Ray. Idk if rays even close to Jesus at the moment
Seeing Travis Ortmayer be a spotter on the squat is a neat crossover for me as a Strongman fan haha
INSANE STRENGTH! Ray is on another level. 😤😤
Those squats looked effortless. Amazing!
Let's go Big Ray!!! I hope he's back. 460 moved so well he had at least 465 today!
man came out of nowhere, fucking legend
The GOAT
The goat is Ed Coan by a mile.
Don rheindout in 1974 had better totals than this.
903/562/832/2298 total and 20-30 lbs lighter.
The squat GOAT.
@@dyelbodybuild5601 You're forgetting that Ray Williams' out-totaled Don Reinhoudt before. Ray is just no longer in his prime just like how Don was no longer in his prime after a career-ending injury
@@dyelbodybuild5601 Haack clears🥱🥱
@@Konalo you’re correct but I should also note that ray weighed 100 lbs more than don now 20-30..don mostly weighed around 350
Ray is 400+ always.. I get it I’m not undermining his lifts but at a certain point being that heavy just isn’t impressive.
His best squat is only 2.5x his body weight.
Lilliebridge squatted 920 raw and 1036 in wraps at 100+ lbs lighter 3 to 3.5x his bodyweight (Eric also out benches and deadlifts him.)
For perspective, ray would be a 1260 raw squat or a 1470 squat with wraps to match Lilliebridge.
sheeesh.... pure hand grip strength on deadlift. 🔥🔥🔥
return of the king
Legendary
Thank u ray wow what a world
Record up real fast 👍💜💙💚
Good lifting! I knew he could do it!
Legend ❤
He had more in the tank for his squat and DL! Absolute MONSTER
Ray vs Oliveres... legendary fight
420 opening 💀🔥
beast
Strong man !
"youtube absolute unit workout" basically Ray Williams on average day.... what a monster love it! :D
Now he needs that wheels 675 bench and the hafthor deadlift 😳😳😳 guys lufting this weight is just incredible. Good job ray
This guy is a Tank! 🦾
immovable object meets unstoppable force.
Bro 1000lbs squat is so unreal
The goat is returning!!!!!
Returning where? He didn’t qualify for worlds lol
Jesus is 50 pounds away from 1000lb deadlift
You can never take away from the first to do it and that ray williams Jesus is a monster but ray paved the way
Beautifull Power
Incredible, but in all honesty.... if his ankle or knee gave out .... no one is stopping that bar from dropping like a boulder. And kudos to that rack to handle that massive weight. EDIT, seems like some people can't comprehend my comment. Im talking about the guy trpping as he steps backwards or breaking a ankle or leg or back. NOT having a problem making the lift. And most people that can't comprehend my comment probably don't even lift weights.
@@pontus.andersson LOL 😂, tell me... how do you PRACTICE that amount of weight dropping? First off , you'd already would have to have your hands on it and tension on it . I'm not talking about if he goes down slow and can't lift it back up.
@@freedomrings1420Or if he falls backwards or even forwards. 😢
do you see who is spotting behind him? its fucking travis ortmayer
Travis oatmyer is the person behind him he's a trained strongman he definately can save a fail with side spotters helping
@@warcraft2807 LOL 😂, yep he's gonna stop all of that weight if the guy fell backwards. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 You must not understand the laws of physics. The weight of the lifter plus the weight on the bar ,equals.... lots of weight
Monster😮
Now that's a fight for century. I love to see how it goes between Ray ray vs Jesus!!
Over a 1000 lb quad raw is CRAZY
460 👍
The dad strength makes a comeback
1014 lb squat, 501 bench, and 771 lb deadlift. Strong man. Raise that deadlift a bit and that bench really needs work big man.
He will be alright he just came back i believe he had injuries years ago and his wife got pregnant too his best is still 490KG/247.5KG/375KG he did miss 397.5KG in that year in his last attempt.
@@denzel9455 he’s amazing
4:06. cold and wholesome moment.
how did 460 move faster than 445 absolutely insane
goat back.
Really hoping to see Ray Williams and Jesus Olivares go head to head to squat 500kg. Would love to see Ray Williams get it..
I’m a structural engineer and that squat rack is 100% NOT safe!!!
Any textbook recommendations with great Static explanations?
Ok nerd
Idiot that rack designed to be that
Ray got 1112.5kg 5 years ago but now this total…. Can someone explain if the rules have changed or something?
Huh? People get injured and older….can’t stay on top forever…
@@mysticbeing6768 Agreed. He had the flu in 2019 and never bounced back since. Despite that he can still squat 1000+lbs which is amazing to maintain for that long.
Hes older bro cmon🤦♂️
100% natural
آفرین🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ray should be invited in WORLDS and SHEFFIELD.... Kilo per kilo matchup will happen
Ray isn't going to be breaking records he's past his prime. 120+ is now Jesus Olivares and potentially Temur Samkharadze
Isso é uma tonelada?
bro got the samsung fold
Gear works
Cenk koçak deadlift number one
This guy super strong i meet him at powerlifting meeting so down to earth
He's my personal trainer.....I never knew ANY of this until I randomly got this recommended to me...
Okay, meanwhile a junior in europa got 1063,5 -wjr
For comparison Thor just did 10 reps with this exact deadlift weight after done 4 other event in 2 days
Strongmen lift with a deadliftbar, straps and suit. That is +80kg right there.
@@windsolarupnorth7084 Except that deadlift suit is not allowed at Arnolds
@@davidkosiba624Even so, deadlift bar is 40kg+ and straps 20kg. Then there was the juice.
It would have been intressting to see Thor deadlifting with IPF rules at his prime, I'm certain that he would have lifted less than 450kg.
@@windsolarupnorth7084 They used a stiff bar, and no conventional puller gets 40kg out of a deadlift bar.
How much you get out of straps depends entirely on your grip strength.
Also bringing up juice as if Ray isn't taking anything is completely delusional.
💪🦁🤝👍🏋️♂️🔥💯✅❤
Is that brandon pitre commentating?
Yes
Ainda está longe de algum recorde
I felt sorry for the spotter during the squats. Not because I‘m not confident in Ray but anything can happen.
First one looked a tad high! Second one, too. He is not breaking parallel. Has judging changed lately?
You can't see parallel with this angle, especially with heavy weight lifters. Always best to trust side judges since they have the optimal angle.
@@PowerGutPowell Yeah, I know. I’ve judged powerlifting meets.
1,014 lb squat. I wonder if the bench press shouldn't be the first lift in powerlifting since doing the squat first will tire you out.
The order is squat, bench, then deadlift, but perhaps it should be bench, squat, then deadlift
Его собственный вес под 180 ?
Еще бы становую тягу 400 кг, и жим 260, запредельно бы был результат👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How can he squat that much but deadlift less weight?
Soo.. is that like 40 yen?
Why do they deadlift "only" like 350 Kilos? Didn't Eddie Hall and other Strongman too deadlift 500? Why is Williams deadlifting so less
Why is his deadlift lighter than his squat ?
Top guys sometimes specialize in either the squat or deadlift. Whichever they are better at. Ray obviously can squat.
A few things.
1. Body weight / body composition. Once you're a SHW (especially if competing in drug-tested competitions) you tend to carry a lot of body fat, which makes it difficult to get into a good position for optimal deadlifting.
This is the main reason why you see deadlift numbers plateau in the higher weight classes -- gaining more mass has diminishing (and sometimes even negative) returns, especially if you don't have the frame to carry the weight. I haven't looked for years, but it used to be really common to see SHWs get out-lifted in the deadlift by people in lower weight classes of the same competition.
OTOH carrying a lot of body fat doesn't screw up the squat movement, so you tend to see that higher bodyweight = bigger squat.
2. Body proportions. Some people are just naturally built to have a bigger squat or deadlift. Look at any national weightlifting team and they'll have short femurs because it's a bio-mechanical advantage for the lifts. The difference is in powerlifting, being disadvantaged in one lift tends to mean you're better at the other, so it kinda balances out.
@@MSimp2k6 Waw. Thank you for this answer. I love you
@@MrNendeurssglad to help!
How come id this depth valid ? I've seen deeper at regionals be rejected for depth.
Yup, Would like to see the side view, maybe I'm missing something but that doesn't even look anywhere close.
front view is always tougher to judge depth, as long as the hip crease is below the knee from the side, is all that matters
@@svmuscle7677 I'm a competitive lifter so yes I know that. That's why I would want to see a side view. Ray has been notorious for depth through his career and has been called on it many times.
@@pvbarbell1904 I think for bigger guys like him and jesus you have to be a bit lenient
@@svmuscle7677 i know, I really Hope there is a side view to clear this out but it do not seem to be at depth. But judging on squat in this fed has been a fraud
Snatch grip deadlift 😂
Дикуль приседал 450 кг если че еще давным давно хотя да он был п … ол 😂
YEAH ! HE WON'T EVEN BE WALKING IN 10 YEARS ! IF HE'S EVEN ALIVE
350 vs 500 kg deadlift is a massive difference
ale goryl
i always wonder why they can squat so much more than they can deadlift....
Thats usually not the case, for most lifters it will be pretty even between the two, but the easy answer to this question is that some people’s builds/proportions are just better for certain lifts.
For example I tend to be better at deadlifts than squats because I have long arms which are great for deadlifts, but I have long femurs which are terrible for squats.
Bro's weight 400 pounds and bench only 500 pounds 🙂 and deadlift 😭
What's your total big boi?
He needs to get his bench and deadlift up be honest his bench is piss poor for his weight class but fuk his squat is wow soon to be 500kg
I love Ray but he is only competition for Jesus in the squat only. Jesus absolutely smokes him in the bench and deadlift.
460 should never move like that
Am I the only one who is thinking Ray's squats did not break parallel?? Is it the camera angle? At least one judge agreed with me on the second squat...idk
What’s crazy is he could’ve did 480-490kg
Ok let's not overreact 😅😅😅 but he might pull it off
@@yannickwillems8523he did it before only 120kg+ to do it raw so he can do it again

Lbs would be nice americans dont use kilos
What a monster but still he is 37 y.o but still Jesus Olivares is better cause he is only
25 y.o he still have alot of time in his career if he dont get injured to have a great progress
Even though Ray is past his prime he's still squatting 1000+lbs which is insane to maintain for that long. Regardless I love watching Ray's lifting despite the strength he's lost.
@@Konalo the best total ray achieved was 1112KG in his prime while Jesus 1152.5kg only at 24 years old
