I PRAISE JESUS! Even as I’m struggling providing for my children. I will keep faith. I get harassed and called names simply for sharing my testimony and asking for prayers. But prayers are all I WANT. I fell on hard times because I was fired from my job as a social worker at Forsyth Hospital because I declined the vaccine. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I wish I could go back to the hospital but unfortunately the mandate is still in place all hospitals workers must be vaccinated against covid 19 for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. I’m waitressing AND I’m SO THANKFUL, but I’m not making nearly as much as I use too. My husband died years ago. I’m all alone, As a single mother with two autistic children things are so overwhelming on me because my boys require a lot from me. Every month is a struggle to pay bills and to put food on the table. BUT our Heavenly Father gives me courage to not give up because I want to. I’m so discouraged but even as I face homelessness almost every month and even as I get put down and mocked because of my situation and choice. I will keep faith in God! Please pray for me and my boys. God bless. Merry Christmas.

Happy Saturnalia everyone and in the end I celebrate the Lord’s resurrection which is our salvation. Dr Marshall can justify anything in his mind even though it really isn’t necessary in this instance because I believe that the case has been made for Christ’s birth at another time of year. We are celebrating the Winter Solstice /Saturnalia tomorrow and since we don’t actually know Jesus’s birthday might as well celebrate that as well. Merry Christmas to everyone 🙏🥳🙏

Jesus Christ was born on December 25.
We know that John the Baptist’s father, Zechariah was a priest who served in the temple at Jerusalem. While he was serving an angel appeared announcing that his wife Elizabeth would become pregnant and the boy’s name would be John.
The Jewish priests were on a schedule according to their family lineage because the priesthood was hereditary. Zechariah was a priest of the class of Abijah. This is recorded in Luke 1:5. The class of Abijah was the eighth class of priests. This is recorded in Nehemiah 12:17. Each class served one week in the temple twice a year. The Abijah class took their turn during the second week of the Jewish month of Tishri. On our calendar that would fall between 22 and 30 September. Count ahead nine months. We celebrate the birth of John the Baptist on 24 June.
How does this connect with Jesus? When the angel comes to Mary to announce the conception of Jesus Christ after her assent, she goes to visit her cousin Elizabeth (John the Baptist’s mother and wife of Zechariah) when Elizabeth was six months pregnant. This is recorded in Luke 1:36. If John the Baptist was conceived around 25 September, this means Jesus was conceived around March 25 -the date Christians celebrate the Annunciation-. Count forward nine more months and you get December 25 as the date for the birth of Jesus Christ.
If the early Christians were simply taking over the Saturnalia or the Feast of the birth of Sol Invictus they would have had to go back and fiddle with the details in Luke’s gospel-and not only that….they would also have had to somehow fiddle with the details of the Jewish schedule of priests serving in the temple.
Oh yes, the other detail is that there are records that Christmas was celebrated on December 25 from the time of St Telephorus-the seventh pope who was born in 115 AD. The cult of the birth of Sol Invictus was not established until 274 AD, so if anybody was copying celebrations, it is more likely that the Roman Emperor Aurelian was copying the already existing feast of Christmas-the birthday of Christ the Unconquered Son of God-than the other way around.

I live in a Baptist Masonic heretical Nova Scotia Canada
The Novos order Catholic Churches are mostly empty and struggling and many closed.
Beautiful historic dilapidated wooden churches like the one at Church Point may be demolished.
There is one group on Facebook that tries to organize traditional Latin mass in Halifax area but it’s once a year at most it appears.
I wish we could organize in a broader sense and grow the traditional communities across the Americas and save the churches here.
    It’s really discouraging.
The Acadian expulsion basically destroyed the Catholic faith here.
Every corner there is a Baptist church and they don’t like Mary and I can’t connect with this mindset.
I can’t attend Novos Ordo as it’s unbearable to listen to listen and endure the LGBTQ agenda
    and religious indifferentism.
This is an example of the crisis we are in Eastern Canada.

G'day Bluenoser! I live here in Eastern Canada as well; just across the border, in New Brunswick. There are virtually no Traditional Latin Masses held in the Maritimes; only once a year or so, even in Fredericton and the like. However, I would still very much recommend finding as reverant a Novus Ordo as you can; there is simply no substitute for the Most Holy & Spotless sacrifice of the Mass. I have found that the beauty of the architecture often coincides with the reverence of the Mass; the more traditional the physical appearance, usually means it will be more traditional, spiritually. May God deliver us from our wickedness, and rescue us from this liturgical abuse. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis.

I honestly wish that the Body of Christ would stop accepting the fiery darts from the evil ones, to argue over such insignificant items such as this. Christ CAME to Earth; He IS Emmanuel = "God with us"; THAT is what is important. NOT what day or season He was born in. I appreciate teachers like Dr. Marshall trying to share the info, but as believers in Christ, we must remember to not get bent out of shape over trivial stuff like this. One Day, we WILL find out all there is to know, IF the Eternal Godhead chooses to share that information with us. Until then, I myself resolve to not argue over it. I am eternally grateful that the Father sent the Son to save us from our sins. That is what truly matters-that we recognize what He did for us. Praise God for allowing His Son to leave Glory to come to Earth, be born, live as fully Man and fully God, sacrifice Himself for the entire world, and provide a way back to the Father. That is the best gift one can receive!🥰 Merry Christmas to you and your family, Dr. Marshall.🙏💖🌲✡📖✝

      Truth matters!
With myths, days and seasons are unimportant. The Incarnation, on the other hand, is a historical fact, therefore the historical details *do* matter. What's more, by questioning the traditional date of Christ's birth, and by linking it with the worship of false gods, the Devil creates doubts with regard to other Catholic teaching and is effectively leading souls into hell. Meanwhile you fold your palms and ask how this is important? Refusing to argue against lies is not piety, it's cowardice. It doesn't come from an ironclad faith - quite the contrary, it comes from a suspicion that maybe the pagans and the heretics and the atheists are right.
Dr. Marshall is right to teach the truth. For far too long the Church has ceded ground to the Enemy, and every inroad the devil makes, makes it that much more difficult to defend what is "important."

I keep telling people who argue that December 25th is the pagan holiday and not Jesus birthday. But that’s not the only thing Pagans have managed to confuse. The only times shepherds spend time in the fields is the month after June 21st, and this is when sheep mate and the gestation period is Five months which would also put Jesus in the Manger when the baby lambs were being born mid December until around December 25th. There was an astronomer, and for the life of me I can’t find him now, who showed the planets Jupiter, Venus, and the Star Regulus aligning over Bethlehem around that date December 25th - 27th. . But there is much confusion about that too, and some people I believe are following the alignments for the wrong year, and they estimate it based on that for the wrong period. But I know you are correct. I think it’s more than that as well. Almost like something I can feel is true.

There is a manuscript known as Chronography 354, that constitutes the most ancient mention of a pagan god celebrated on the 25th of December. Said calendar also mentions that the celebration of Christ is the same day, therefore acknowledging that the date of the birth of Christ was prior to the pagan celebration. This proves the exact opposite, pagans took the date of the birth of Christ and put a pagan celebration on the same date. This is in an article by John Sorensen, titled Why is Christmas on the 25th of December.
There is also a study by Steven Hijmans called Sol: the sun in the art and religions of Rome. In its 588 page states that there is no evidence that the religious celebration of the sun was prior to the Christmas celebration. The traditional celebration of the sun are registered in the imperial calendars were the 8 or 9 of August, possibly August 28 and December 11.
In 1985, FAO, the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations published a detailed study done by professor H Epstein of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, one of the major experts of the time on this subject, regarding the Ahuasi sheeps, which are the ones that were and are bred in Israel.
In his study, which doesn't talk about religion or Christmas, explains the practices of the nomads, semi-nomads, bedouins, and fellahin sedentary farmers that tended to the land and sheep.
He says that in Irak, the main season for the Ahuasi sheep to give birth is November, in Lebanon, Arab Republic of Siria, and Israel is December and January. He also states that bedouins and fellahin don't know anything about homes nor tents, they live entirely in open air next to their flock of sheep under their care. They work 365 days a year 13 to 16 hours a day. For cold days they have sheep clothing, sheep blankets and fire.

Shepherds were in the fields watching their flocks at the time of Jesus' birth (Luke 2:7-8). Shepherds were not in the fields during December. According to Celebrations: The Complete Book of American Holidays, Luke's account "suggests that Jesus may have been born in summer or early fall. Since December is cold and rainy in Judea, it is likely the shepherds would have sought shelter for their flocks at night" (Robert Myers, 1972, p. 309).
Similarly, The Interpreter's One-Volume Commentary (1980) says this passage "would argue against the birth's occurring on Dec. 25 since the weather would not have permitted" shepherds watching over their flocks in the fields at night.
Second, Jesus' parents came to Bethlehem to register in a Roman census (Luke 2:1-4). Such censuses were not taken in winter, when temperatures often dropped below freezing and roads were in poor condition. Taking a census under such conditions would have been self-defeating.
Given the desire to bring pagans into Christianity, William Walsh says, "The important fact then which I have asked you to get clearly into your head is that the fixing of the date as December 25th was a compromise with paganism" (The Story of Santa Klaus, 1970, p. 62).
The biblical accounts point to the fall of the year as the most likely time of Jesus' birth, based on the conception and birth of John the Baptist.
Since Elizabeth (John's mother) was in her sixth month of pregnancy when Jesus was conceived (Luke 1:24-36), we can determine the approximate time of year Jesus was born if we know when John was born. John's father, Zacharias, was a priest serving in the Jerusalem temple during the course of Abijah (Luke 1:5). Historical calculations indicate this course of service corresponded to June 13-19 in that year (E.W. Bullinger, The Companion Bible, 1974, Appendix 179, p. 200).

Also, shepherds didn't sleep outside with their flocks in December. Ask anyone living in Southern US if they could sleep outside in December. And Saturnalia was a MONTH long "mass" of debauchery & feasting. October is more accurate IMO, but that's just what I figured out in my research. Your scholarship is bad with regard to the date of the winter solstice at the time of the early Church fathers. December 25th was the date of the solstice on the Julian calendar back then. It did not become the 22nd until the creation of the Gregorian calendar.
The calculation from Jehoiarib is wrong too. According to the Talmud (Ta'anit 4:5) the priest that was serving under that course is derided for having handed his house over to the Romans. But it was only assumed that he did this when the Temple was destroyed on 9 Av. Josephus however tells us there were no priests in the Temple on 9 AV. They had all deserted their posts apparently after the Romans breeched the city walls 3 weeks earlier on 17 Tammuz. This is the day tradition and Josephus both tell us that Temple sacrifice ended. But Josephus adds more detail. He says it is not because they had run out of things to sacrifice. It is because there were no more priests to offer sacrifice.
In other words the last day for the House of Jehoiarib was July 14 (17 Tammuz), 70 AD. And that requires another 3 weeks for Zechariah to dilly dally before getting around to making John to work with your December 25th Nativity scenario. But even if you go with what your scholar is saying it certainly is not proven as you have declared. There is in fact a much better argument given in THE GOSPEL OF CREATION (not to be confused with the recent encyclical) where the author makes a case for Easter and Christmas occurring on the same day but separated by 40 years. This argument shows that by that accounting John the Baptist would have been conceived on January 5 (10 Tevet), 9 BC (which fits perfectly (with no need of fudge factors) for Jehoiarib serving on 17 Tammuz, 70 AD. It places John's birth on the 1st day of the Feast of Booths and his circumcision on Shmini Atzeret (the day that commemorates the entire nation of Israel being circumcised after they left the wilderness and enterered the Holy Land).
Do some homework, see for yourself. It places Jesus's birth on April 5 (24 Nisan), 8 BC which places His entry into our fallen world 3 days after the last day of Passover, on roughly the same day the Red Sea parted, just as His triumphant entry into the Holy City on the same day as the Israelites triumphantly entered the Holy Land with the parting of the Jordan River. It also places the Presentation 40 days after His birth on the day of Pentecost and on the same day as the Ascension which occurs 40 days after the Resurraction. and iof that is not enough it also places Jesus in the Temple (3 days after Passover, according to Luke) on His 13th Birthday (His Bar Mitzvah birthday) the day a Jewish male has finally come of age and is allowed to publically comment on the Torah.

    • @itt23r
      @itt23r ปีที่แล้ว

Consulting my calendar for that time period I see there is only 2 years that matches what you are saying. So I am guessing you are saying that Jesus was either born on December 25, 5 BC or December 25, 2 AD. But since 2 AD seems a bit too late to twist the data to allow Herod to be alive for it that leaves 5 BC as the only possibility. So here is what is wrong with that idea. Of the 7 crucial dates in the lives of Jesus and John in 6-4 BC only 3 can be construed as having an association with an observance on the Hebrew calendar. And that is roughly what you would see by chance.
John the Baptist's conception could be connected to Yom Kippur or the 1st day of Sukkot but that is as good as it gets for John. His subsequent birth and circumcision on June 24, and July 3 of 5 BC would be on 19 and 26 Sivan that year and although both are sabbaths, neither is close to a Holiday, Fast or Special Sabbath.
As to Jesus, His supposed Incarnation on March 25, 5 BC would have occurred on 17 Adar II and this is not at all what you would expect of one of the 3 greatest events in the history of the created world. The Passover illuminates Good Friday. Should we not expect the same of the Incarnation? His birth and circumcision being on the 2nd and last day of Chanukah that year show some of logic. But why the 2nd day and not the 1st for Christmas. That sounds more like a miss than a hit. And Jesus Himself seems to agree saying that His Resurrection would not be associated with any sign other than the sign of Jonah even though it occurred on the 3rd day of Passover.
Now Christ's circumcision being on the last day of the holiday could be a significant match since the last day is treated much like the first. But again, why should it be the circumcision that gets the attention and not the far more important date, Jesus's birth? It would have been less problematic if it had no holiday connection than to have one that outshines the Nativity. It makes no sense. Moving on then to the last date to consider, the Presentation, occuring 40 days after Jesus birth (which is being claimed to be 26 Kislev) places it on February 3 (7 Shevat) and once again there is nothing close here to an observance of any sort.
The bottom line is this. God gave us the observances on the Hebrew calendar so that we could see how each is fulfilled in the life of Christ. And we have every reason to expect that any true discernment of the Nativity will yield connections to those observances. Your solution does not do that. It cannot, therefore, be correct.

John 1:14 states “and He Tabernacled with us”. The God of the Bible will not just pick any day for His Son’s birth like the majority of the Church thinks, He would have and did choose one of his Holy days. Just like Christ died on the Passover he would’ve been born on one of God’s holy days. And December does not have one of God’s Holy Days.

The idea that "other saviors were born December 25" is a 19th Century assertion with zero historical basis. The earliest record of any attempt to place any pagan god's birth on December 25 comes from a Christian calendar in 345 A.D., for which there is no corresponding pagan record. So, attributing December 25 to a pagan deity came well after the establishment of Christianity, not before.

@@RstesotTv Length of days had nothing to do with Christmas, although it was important in the pagan scheme of things, because of agriculture. Pagans did their thing fir pagan reasons. Its just mind-boggling that the modern mind is not sufficiently broad to accept that Christians did Christian things for Christian reasons - even to the point of prefering death to doing non-Christian things.
As for the idea that there were pagan concepts of communion, that's at least partially true. Tjis is why Christians were not allowed to eat the free meat from pagan temples. The idea of communion, while common as a general concept across a number of religions, differs substantially in the Christian tradition. As a measure of that difference, note that although Christianity came from Judaism, the Christian understanding of communion was - and is - held as the depth of blasphemy. The earliest Christians were executed for it.

Unfortunately when you speak of the weather and the shepherds and sleeping outside in a Manger, 12/25 DOESN'T work. Dr Michael Heiser has a great astronomy lesson on this, following the Magi. September is most likely the month. I've also seen the origins of the holiday and it is in FACT not about Christ. Look it up. We can celebrate the Lord any day just please don't worship the tree or the lights or the gifts....it may not be a Pagan holiday but it originally has nothing to do with the birth of our Savior.

I think more time should be placed on the "Word became Flesh and dwelt amoung us", and the Theology of Mary THEOTOKOS. Those are Credal, from the Four Great Councils, things you got to believe stuff.
