Hey Bosky, any updates on the Scrambler 400X? How many kilometers have you put on it, and what made you decide to move on? I remember you mentioning you wanted to keep it long-term. I’ve had mine for 6 months now and have done around 7,500 km. Was hoping for a 10,000 km update!
I got the Scambler to compliment the V-Strom 650 I had. Once the V went and the Himalayan came in, there was a purpose overlap and then once I saw the Goldstar, I decided to replace the 400X.
@@rakaboy4011 First gear is mostly for parking maneuvers, though I get that it’s also intended for off-road use. No complaints there. You’ll develop the muscle memory for shifting as you get more comfortable with the bike. It accelerates from 0 to 80 quickly. I recommend changing the air filter every 4,000 to 5,000 km and regularly checking the chain tension. I noticed a performance dip around 4,500 km, so I replaced the air filter and adjusted the chain. I also changed the mirrors, brake pads, and side stand. My second free service was done at around 7,000 km. Even though the HP oil is rated for 16,000 km, I didn’t want to push it past 6,000 km. I don’t know if it’s just a placebo effect, but the bike feels a lot smoother after the second service.
@@bigbearbangalore650 goldstar is good for single guys, with a pillion I am sure it will kiss the speed breakers with 150 ground clearance, hope they launch 650 goldstar scram with more Ground clearance
Nice discussion guys. Few following points which were concerned to me: 1. Spares Availability from the counter 2. Center stand provision is missing. I myslf wld share this experience bosky, If you ask any local garage guy which repairs RE, they wld straight away say big NO for Jawa Bikes. If they won't be supported they wld talk negative abt the product.. M still confused whether shld i consider the Yezdi Adventure or not. 2. Center Stand.. Is it pssble to change a flat tyre. Wld be big task.. Chain tightening still comes secondary to me...
@@bigbearbangaloreYour take on the improved Yezdi Adventure. It's price brilliantly & Himalayan is bit out of budget for me & I don't want to consider the 250 cc either...
So relatable conversation Bosky and CK. I bought an X440 and then sold my XPulse Pro (rally) Reasons - 1. Just had 3200km in 1.5 years, not a single off-road. Capable bike but not getting utilised. Just getting depreciated every year. 2. Not family friendly due to the narrow seat, tall height (of course it was not meant for it since it was the only bike in the garage). 3. Commuting was difficult (but I got used to it) due to height (only I can tip toe - I am 5"9' Bosky 😉) and turning radius. 4. Touring - can do 80 all day but I love 100-120, for which the engine is in strain. All my concerns are solved by X440. So it's great to know I am not the only one who buys and sells bikes soon realising I don't need it. Note: Xpulse Pro is a proven bike when it comes to off-road on budget but built for the purpose. When it comes to GS650, it was launched after I made my decision for X440 and I was attracted by 25k discount (15k for independence day + 10k from the dealer). I would definitely TD it and share my findings. As always great real world no bs conversation Bosky and CK ❤ Looking forward to seeing u keep it till 2070 and relive 70s again 😂 Ride Safe Have Fun 😎
Speaking about tubeless conversion. I know that only Aluminium rims are being converted into tubeless with outex or way2speed kits. Is there any way that the Classic 350 rims can be converted to tubeless with the same kits? Or you wouldn't recommend that.
@@bigbearbangalore so that means the only option is to get the alloys. I relaly liked how the spoke wheels look on my bike. It is the same color that you recently made a reel with CK on. The bronze medallion.
I spent some time examining the bike and concluded that the seat is its weakest design feature. For a 650, they could have made it chunkier and more accommodating for a pillion, with the addition of a backrest.
I took the test ride and i am in love with GS650, only one thing which stopping me to buy this motorcycle is how durable this bike is? This is totally new engine with dry sump thing in it which is nice but is it difficult to maintain by our self? How can I lube the chain because it's beside to exaust and do you feel they will reduce price of this bike?
Hi Bosky, I bought BSA couple of days back. I would like to know your 1st service experience. Waiting for your workaround on centre stand installation and details of the tub less frame.
Bosky any reason why you sold scrambler 400x instead of himalayan ? For long rides even scrambler 400x is good right? Or your not happy with scrambler 400x ?
Please compare it with x440 in some video. The price difference isnt much and they both are targeted towards same set of buyers. I really loved my recent test ride of x440 but it feels expensive now looking at the competition.
hello gentlemen as always, mature conversation. goldstar was in my wishlist, until your video influenced me to buy classic 350. I am happy with purchase though. on a side note, would you like to talk about the name "big bear". it is a name used in west. not common in Bengaluru. just curious to know...
@Bosskey, CK excellent and detailed review. Me being a middle aged rider based out of south Bangalore with a new R3 and 350 meteor I really liked it BSA GS 650. Also it suits my height of 5’5. 2 questions I have are 1.How do you see the capability to do those quick overtakes in highway and those single road state highways? 2. Do you see a need for gas filled rear shocks replacing the stock ones?
In all your reviews of the RE twins you mentioned a liking for the Shotgun 650. What made you choose the Goldstar over the Shotgun? Waiting for a comparison between the 2 and your thoughts if you had to buy only one. I am equally torn between the 2....
Thanks Bosky. For me, the clarity of what you want is something that goes missing when you are looking to solve the zigsaw in only one purchase. The Bear is launching soon and for me it adds to the confusion even more. Then i can sit and play inki pinki ponki po to choose...
Hi Bosky. Im looking forward to buy the bike. Ive heard the drawbacks discussed in your podcast. But would like to know any major issues you have faced, as I've heard from some owners about engine stalling issues and in some cases, the engine not firing up at all(breakdown issue)
Hello Sir I have two questions. 1. How are tubeless type tyres running with a tube different from an ordinary tube tyres, like in terms of puncture. 2. I love this machine, and I have already planned to book this machine in next one or two months. I know it's a lion which needs to be fed and maintained very well. But my family and friends are sceptical, that its a big single cylinder and even though it doesn't have vibrations now, it will get vibey in very near future. I am a calm relaxed rider who loves relaxed rides and speeds from 60 upto 110 as of now. I would be happy if you would comment on the reliability and longevity of the engine based on your riding style. Thank you for the video.
Hi. The tyres are tubeless type and since the wheel rims are tube type, there's a tube installed. Long term reliability and maintenence we will find out as we go along. Unable to comment now on that.
Bosky sir, I've noticed the silencer of mostly all the gold stars on road in bangalore discolour too soon. Has it started on your bike as well? I can't make out much from this video. Apart from the ride, how has the service experience been?
Great review Bosky sir! i know it sounds weired.. but i completely torn between himalayan and BSA goldstar. i know they are completely different bikes in different segments but something about both of them appeal to me. things im particular about - engine character, road presence, quality of materials, gear shifts and engine buzz at 80-120kmph.. wat will be ur pick with these points ?
Man I love the format of your reviews ck & busky👍, is it compareble with the smoothness of cb 350 on 80-120 kmph, and is it worth upgrading from classic 350 ( j-series) ? Is it worth the hassle in terms of maintenance and reliability.
Reliability is unknown now. Time will tell. Classic 650 is round the corner, wait for it before making a decision. I have paused on my next purchase keeping in mind future launches by RE and KTM. Not sure of the smoothness, take a test ride and feel it yourself
1. The side cover is easy to open and along with side covers, the seat and battery robbery is an easy task. 2. This is totally ridiculous that spare parts are not given for purchase to the owners. I didn't realise the severity of this until now. Total waste. Like you said the problem will be for general public owners. 3. Unfortunately seems risky to buy a BSA for general public.
Did u get rid of the scrambler because of just the overlap or was this easily a better choice for you.. if yes.. was it a better choice due to the scrambler having deficiencies or because this just suit you better?
Hello sir, Great content like always. Its always great to learn more from more experienced riders like you. I had an off topic question, i have an ola s1 pro gen 2, and clocked about 6.5k kms on it Its going to need a new set of brake pads, and the stock brake pads are about 1800 inc labour charges which is overpriced. I do drive fast and would like to have more bite on my front brake pads so was looking into getting ceramic or sintered brake pads. i just wanted to know how would you identify if a particular brake pad will fit the brake caliper I would like to upgrade to a stronger brake pad set, but for now ill be happy using brake pads from any other bike, like pulsar etc incase they do fit Thank you so much sir, looking to learn more from you
@@bigbearbangalore I just wanted to know basically how would you ensure that a different brakepads can fit the brake caliper Not just for ola but other bikes too
Bosky, how do you convince your wife on all your motorcycle purchases? Please share, its the most important piece of advice you will be imparting on this channel.
Interestingly, in UK and Europe, the BSA’s are getting very mixed reviews. For those riders having issues it seems dealerships just don’t seem to help. For riders wanting to sell or exchange, they are unable to do so. Most dealers in UK will not buy or accept BSA’s in part exchange, including BSA dealers. Strange!
I highly doubt SV650 will be launched anytime in future. Suzuki stopped selling VStrom 650 last year to update its 800 portfolio, it doesn’t make any sense to launch the same engine when they stopped another 650. Also, SV650 is not a tech loaded bike, it is loved for what it is for the people who are familiar with format from the early 2000s. India loves tech and fully packed motorcycles though the user use the potential fully.

Hello boss key sir, I have a question why are you not reviewing any of the Kawasaki adv models like versys 650, versys 1000? It’s because you are not big fan of Kawasaki ? It will be helpful it you can make a comparison between versys 650 vs Suzuki vstrom 800 de or vstrom 650 something like this.
Sir, can you help me out regarding Triumph scrambler headlight light issues 1st, Have you done any changes in stock headlight of scrambler, if yes please tell what light have you installed in headlight housing ? 2nd, I'm going to install a Fog light, for wiring connection upto battery connection it is OK, for ignition trigger someone suggested me to use OBD 2 port 12 volt supply, is it right way or any other option available ? Is there any Accessories socket provided in Scrambler similary like in himalayan ?
Headlines are stock. Check on Mad Dog lights, switch and battery connection harness. And I haven't installed lights on the 400X so unable to suggest more.
In the harness, there are 3 wires two goes to the battery, one needed to be connected to the ignition source so that when ignition key turn ON then you will be able to switch ON the light, so that cable where to connect ? In obd port one terminal had 12volt supply which only comes after ignition is ON, please advice if that opd port is safe to use

My expectations from you that you'll compare it with intrceptor 650 owner.

How is your experience Doctor with scrambler?
I have had mine for 1000 kms now but finding the gear ratios too short for my liking
I had a great time on it and found the ratios suited to the motorcycle design and purpose.
Few following points which were concerned to me:
1. Spares Availability from the counter
Thanks.
It's a personal risk appetite to buy this model. Although am sure things are improving with regards to service and support.
@@bigbearbangaloreYour take on the improved Yezdi Adventure. It's price brilliantly & Himalayan is bit out of budget for me & I don't want to consider the 250 cc either...
@sumitshaw6786 haven't tried the 2024 yet. Hope to do so sometime soon.
So relatable conversation Bosky and CK.
I bought an X440 and then sold my XPulse Pro (rally)
Reasons -
As always great real world no bs conversation Bosky and CK ❤
Looking forward to seeing u keep it till 2070 and relive 70s again 😂

Speaking about tubeless conversion. I know that only Aluminium rims are being converted into tubeless with outex or way2speed kits. Is there any way that the Classic 350 rims can be converted to tubeless with the same kits? Or you wouldn't recommend that.
Not recommended.

Valid question and yes I have taken a small gamble. And I believe that all will be well.
Hi Bosky,
I bought BSA couple of days back. I would like to know your 1st service experience. Waiting for your workaround on centre stand installation and details of the tub less frame.
Service was business as usual. All OK.
BSA is working on a heat shield for the exhaust as per some sources
👍
Bosky any reason why you sold scrambler 400x instead of himalayan ? For long rides even scrambler 400x is good right? Or your not happy with scrambler 400x ?
While one can tour on almost anything, the 400X is not a tourer. The H450 is a great tourer.
Please compare it with x440 in some video. The price difference isnt much and they both are targeted towards same set of buyers. I really loved my recent test ride of x440 but it feels expensive now looking at the competition.
Will check on this possibility.
hello gentlemen
as always, mature conversation.
goldstar was in my wishlist, until your video influenced me to buy classic 350. I am happy with purchase though.
on a side note, would you like to talk about the name "big bear".
it is a name used in west. not common in Bengaluru. just curious to know...
Hello. Thanks.
Just a name we came up with just like that. 😃
The first user of this engine was BMW - for its Funduro 650.
👍
@Bosskey, CK excellent and detailed review. Me being a middle aged rider based out of south Bangalore with a new R3 and 350 meteor I really liked it BSA GS 650. Also it suits my height of 5’5. 2 questions I have are 1.How do you see the capability to do those quick overtakes in highway and those single road state highways? 2. Do you see a need for gas filled rear shocks replacing the stock ones?
there is adequate power for quick overtakes. better shocks will help for sure.
As you rightly said spares availability issue if they don’t fix rapidly ‘ this is not but mojo story
👍
In all your reviews of the RE twins you mentioned a liking for the Shotgun 650. What made you choose the Goldstar over the Shotgun? Waiting for a comparison between the 2 and your thoughts if you had to buy only one. I am equally torn between the 2....
Amongst the RE twins I like the Shotgun. And I like big single cylinders over twins and lighter motorcycles hence I chose the BSA.
I have not had any such issue. So far all good.
Congrats
🙏
Waiting for you to put a nice free flow exhaust to get the actual boom boom of the 650 single
Hmmmm 👍
Hello Sir
I have two questions.
Beautiful ❤
👍
Bosky sir, I've noticed the silencer of mostly all the gold stars on road in bangalore discolour too soon. Has it started on your bike as well?
I can't make out much from this video.
Apart from the ride, how has the service experience been?
Yes the exhaust will discolor. And service expense is fine.
Thanks.
If I can have only one, it will be the H450. Far more versatile.
@@bigbearbangalore thanks for the reply
Man I love the format of your reviews ck & busky👍, is it compareble with the smoothness of cb 350 on 80-120 kmph, and is it worth upgrading from classic 350 ( j-series) ? Is it worth the hassle in terms of maintenance and reliability.
Reliability is unknown now. Time will tell. Classic 650 is round the corner, wait for it before making a decision. I have paused on my next purchase keeping in mind future launches by RE and KTM. Not sure of the smoothness, take a test ride and feel it yourself
Yes it's smooth as the CB at those speeds. Worth or not is a decision for each.
That catalytic converter is an eye sore can we remove it to have a smooth flow of pipe on silencer
🫡
👍🫡
What about jawa yezdi?
Did u get rid of the scrambler because of just the overlap or was this easily a better choice for you.. if yes.. was it a better choice due to the scrambler having deficiencies or because this just suit you better?
It’s with a friend now. The H450 does most what I want to do on a motorcycle and for the rest I have the Goldstar. Hence I found the 400X superfluous.
Hello sir,
Great content like always. Its always great to learn more from more experienced riders like you.
I had an off topic question, i have an ola s1 pro gen 2, and clocked about 6.5k kms on it
Its going to need a new set of brake pads, and the stock brake pads are about 1800 inc labour charges which is overpriced.
I do drive fast and would like to have more bite on my front brake pads so was looking into getting ceramic or sintered brake pads.
i just wanted to know how would you identify if a particular brake pad will fit the brake caliper
I would like to upgrade to a stronger brake pad set, but for now ill be happy using brake pads from any other bike, like pulsar etc incase they do fit
Thank you so much sir, looking to learn more from you
Hello. Thanks.
Pardon, am not familar with the Ola.
@@bigbearbangalore I just wanted to know basically how would you ensure that a different brakepads can fit the brake caliper
Not just for ola but other bikes too
Bosky, how do you convince your wife on all your motorcycle purchases? Please share, its the most important piece of advice you will be imparting on this channel.
😃 right from the time I met her close to 4 decades ago, I've ensured that motorcycles are 100% only my business. 😊
Strange!
That's not good.
If sv650 launched, will you be considering that over this?
Don't know. But that's a Twin cylinder.
@@surendarmohan9878 triumph 660, z650, cbr650r so i guess there is a market available for sv as well if the price it correct.

Service from the 70s 😂
In my opinion, if a person has bike like Triumph 400,, he has no need to think about IN CITY & outside commuting. That is one adequate for all purpose with more than sufficient power + build quality..In a very loooooong time span we can call something as COMPLETE PACKAGE which triumph provided...
There's isn't any that can do all perfectly well. It's always a balance. Depends on which comfort is more important.
That said, one can commute and tour on almost any motorcycle.
Do you still have your interceptor? If not why did you sell it? Will you buy it again if they launch interceptor bear/ scram 650?
I don't. I enjoyed the adventure style motorcycles more. I have the BSA Goldstar now so unlikely to need another retro street motorcycle, so likely will not buy.
How about the Guerrilla 450 vs this?
Not an appropriate comparison. They are quite different.

Sir, can you help me out regarding Triumph scrambler headlight light issues
1st, Have you done any changes in stock headlight of scrambler, if yes please tell what light have you installed in headlight housing ?
In Himalayan, Fog light installed ?
If yes, where that 3rd cable is connected ?
Give a try for Vaishnu Touring headlight for Scrambler 400x. I have installed it on my scrambler and it's more than sufficient for Night rides both in the city and on the highway.
Are tyres tubeless? Can it do a little off roading? Thanks
