This game was released a year after GTA 3 - It was just way ahead of its time in all aspects
This definitely looked better than GTA 3 and had a more interesting protagonist but GTA 3 felt more fun to play.

Hodně pěkné! Občas ty odlesky od silnice možná až trošku přehnaně zrcadlové, ale jinak luxus. Ta hra mě od doby svého vzniku, do teď, stále tou hudbou a obecně atmosférou, dostává do kolen .. Byly časy, kdy jsem měl v pozadí jenom puštěné intro hry a celé hodiny mi dokola hrála ta úvodní znělka ))) Nikdy se neohraje očividně :)
Ty odlesky jsou skutečně hodně zlé, stačilo by je ztlumit tak o 20% a bomba!
Díky této klasice jsem si oblíbil celkově starý jazz (v tuto chvíli ho poslouchám také) a už je to krásných 5 let s tou nádhernou hudbou! Pokud by jste si chtěl připomenout krásný styl hudby 30. let, doporučuji toto rádio:

Odlesky jsou v pohode, ale tech louzi je moc a nemaji zadnou texturu, ktera by naznacovala ze se jedna o vodu a ani nic podobneho. Vypadaji jak smouhy na tom asfaltu.
Práveže zrkadlové nie sú vôbec. V odrazoch nie je prostredie, ani objekty. Iba preddefinovaná statika.

This game is my childhood.... Thank you (developers) for this amazing game. I have done this game for many times and i still want to play EXACTLY this original version. When i hearing this sounds and see this game, my eyes makes a little wet and i remember that child times.... Love you guys! Everybody who want peace and play some beautiful games like this! @@nic8967 The modder community should come together and recreate the game in an engine like Unity (but modern but simple and running on any PC). Adding more realistic moves (GTA 4 type )

I played the original mafia first time last month after played the definitive edition in 2020. I must say, it's the beautiful of old game, we hardly use our imagination to see things that barely a graphics. As the result I find it somehow more realistic than remake version

Je to hezké až na ty "mokré cesty", tak bohužel vypadá každý ENB mod třeba na GTA a je to jediná hnusná věc. Super práce jinak.

Love it , awesome work!!!!! I can"t choose between the Remastered and this, both are genius! Remastered is an awesome remake, but this is much closer to the original game, just using today"s possibilites :) You really deserve gold medal.
The remake is good but there ain't nothing like the original, it's kinda like stepfather and the real father, which one is better? 😄
Cube maps on puddles you see been used in games since PS1. None of the techniques here are considered modern. But they fit to the game and atmosphere very well.

This looks absolutely stunning, but perhaps the atmosphere would feel a lot more lively if you used the updated car models from the *Mafia Community Modpack* from Nexus Mods. Since a lot of people can’t run those types of powerful mods on their computers would you consider showcasing all mods at once in all their glory? Including this one of course!

Tiež by som úprimne tie cesty urobil menej lesklé, miestami to vyzerá až príliš neprirodzene, Inak sa mi ale páčia tieto malé roztomilé detaily ako tie stánky na chodníkoch, ostrovčeky na cestách, viac stromov a rastlín popri chodníkoch a celkovo v uliciach mesta, vyzerá vďaka tomu celé Lost Heaven ešte živšie.

Fakt pěkný myslím že si autor modu zaslouží respekt, protože na hry 20 let + se už moc modu netvoří. Mafia je ale doopravdovou výjimkou, nedivil bych se kdyby za dalších 20 let vznikla kopie s komplet jinou nebo přepracovanou grafikou.
Cením práci autora.

i broke my DC-rom with corrupt Vice City disc in 2003 and i was very scared to tell it to mom, because she got me computer and it was expensive. the only game i had that worked without CD was Mafia. i played it until 2005 when i got internet connection and could download games.
it seems unbelievable how much time i spent in the game, making up scenarios and it being interesting to me for all that time although it was completely empty. i could only dream about mod like that that would bring life to the Freeride.

We have definitive edition and it looks the same beautiful if you did this can you can add a better map and make the models a little more realistic or at least make them show some emotion otherwise its perfect 🤩
Still can't admit this wet surfaces without reflecting dynamic objects, it's better not to have it at all than static cubemaps. But overall feeling is amazing!

is there a way to make NPCs spawn much more? the main issue i have with the old games like these is that the towns feel empty
you can try freeride extended mod, the mod add much very much trafic to the city

Why does every graphics mod have to make the roads so shiny it looks so bad. Rest looks awesome and the game is of course an amazing game I have a lot of great memories from it.
