Fascinating discussion. I like how he tied what he called "The Great Awokening" into the American tradition of Great Awakenings. Also very interesting comments about Revelation and it's anti-empire influence on people like Marx. (Without Christianity there is no Marxism - I'm sure this would make right -wing heads explode if they actually pondered it)
