SiM800L Relay Control With Arduino IR Remote and Push Buttons | GSM Based Home Automation

In this video, I will make a home automation project, using Arduino and sim800l GSM module. By using this project, you can control home appliances manually, with push buttons. Alternatively, you can use IR remote, to control the relays connected to Arduino. you may use any TV remote you have. you can also control the lights by making call to GSM module. The GSM module automatically accept the call after 2 rings. Then you can control the relays by pressing 1, 2, 3 or 4 from the keypad. similarly, you can turn OFF the relays, by pressing the same keys. this method is call DTMF.
I have also added the SMS feature, to control the relays. send 1, 2 3 or 4 from your mobile phone to turn ON and OFF the relays. By using SMS and DTMF feature, you can control the home appliances from anywhere in the world. This whole project works on GSM network and does not required any internet connection. You can also check the status of any relay (ON or OFF) by sending sms, and you will get the status of the relay on your mobile phone.

@@AhmadLogs yeah that would be great to see. Make sure to make it wireless by using rf modules bcoz mostly overhead tanks are located at 3rd 4th or even higher floors so using wires will be costly and not practical. Also there must be water capacity shown on lcd and must have manual button to turn on/off at any time. Hope this will give you better idea for the project

Hello and thank you for this complete tutorial. I decided to put the project program on the atmega32 microcontroller using the bootloader and I did. The relays work via push button, ir remote and phone call, but the controller doesn't read the sms, can you help me?
but you don't need to change in the code. you just Check your wiring

A great program, but the dtmf does not like it with me from the first press, it needs more than one pressure in order to respond, whether in stopping or running, so what is the solution to this problem
I think you have changed one of the sim800l configuration that belongs to the dtmf feature. so, check sim800l AT commands reference manual. there look at the dtmf section. It might be helpful
Based on my own suggestion I think u can improve on this great project to serve as car tracker by adding GPS with location and google address of each action any time one request for the status of any action.

@@AhmadLogs okay, what I mean is that the can be enhanced or upgraded to incorporate GPS. So that one can us it to get location of objects or cars by using SIM808 which has GSM and GPS antenna all in one. Send me ur email address and I will send u a working system of what I mean.

Hi sir, Isn't 5v too much for Sim800L rx pin?
you are right.
but I am using Chinese made module. and they have mansion on their website that the rx and tx pins for the module are 5 volts tolerated.

@@AhmadLogs The light status of sim800l is working properly . blinking of light is within 3sec it is connected properly but when ever I'm giving command by phone there is no replay or any action
@@vinodmahajan9542 try to change baud rate of sim800l. the default baud rate for sim800l is 9600.
also checks the rx and tx connection carefully,
must connect the battery ground to arduino ground
