Invite par son père en 1980, j'ai joué la fantaisie de Silvius Léopold Weiss a St Tropez . Boulou me la rendu en interprétant sur guitare espagnole avec une cantatrice a sa table et par une belle journée ensoleillée
Absolutely gorgeous! And the playing of M. Boulou Ferret- six years older than me at the time- is probably better than I can do now! I hate that kid LOL ;-)
I love this, Elek Bacsik is one of my favorites, and one of the great "unknown" jazz guitrists. He was on a terrific recording with Dizzy Gillespie in the early '60's, "Dizzy on the French Riviera" and he made a couple of relatively obscure records on his own, but other thanthat he was sadly under-recorded. I also like the 13-year old Boulu Ferre, and although his scatting is a bit annoying, you have to admire the chutzpah of a 13 year old kid doing that, with 3 world class jazz guitarists!
Elek Bacsik was actually a very great one. He first was a violonist. True, he played with Gillespie on the french Riviera, among other tunes in a tremendous version of Chega de Saudade (No More Blues). He was a true virtuoso and recorded an incredibly creative and convincing version of "Nuages".
So sorry that my first line drop out - well, here you are: Thank you so much for share this rare remarkable concert film by four guitar master playing together. All they were my favorite musician since '60 decade. First time I even here them together let alone to see live concert - thrilling indeed.
Yes, my friend......this was stunning!.. especially Baden Powell... mediocrity rises to the top sadly. Remember when we could see Miles Davis, Paul Desmond and Bill Evans on TV! At least we can still spin our vinyl.
Couple weeks ago I get on my shelf and turntable Boulou's album from same year than this concert file - oh my holy cat how brilliant, thrilling and airy elegant work - no doubt he really is nephew of Django Reinhardt who were first Boulou named his guitarist idol.
If I'm not mistaken, the announcer says that Sacha Distel, is "guitarist Russe", or, Russian, but, since this seems to be a French TV show, he of all people should know that Distel was French through and through

How have I missed this gem for so long? Some stupendous playing and utterly entertaining.
quelle joie de les voir jouer et quel plaisir de les ecouter!
Magnifique ! Quelle brochette !

Sacha Distel's father was Russian
The announcer is Sacha Distel. It's his show. He plays with them.
L'annonceur EST Sacha Distel 😂😂😂😂😂!
Porque não a biografia em português?
No, he's not joking, he really is. His real name is Alexandre Distel.

The announcer is Sache Distel, just saying.

Don't worry about the kid :D !
He is Monsieur Boulou Ferret, son of the great Gypsyjazz guitarist Matelot Ferret, who played with Django Reinhardt :)

Isn't nasty, instead, comment and commentator? Yes, they are.
