Thanks for posting this! My wife is a former singer that wanted me to learn the female version of this song so she could sing it again. Now I have no excuse. Ha! And as far as famous women singers go, I can’t stand the ones that do all kinds of histrionics with the lyrics (here’s looking at you Mariah).
Well, If I hadn't seen you teach this, I would never have considered learning it, but I have seen you teach it so I will try and learn it. Your channel really is a golden nugget among a mass of mediocre content. Thank you so much for this.
Great song, jazz influence. Takes me back to my ‘60s youth when my parents had Herb Alpert on the turntable. Bacharach passed this past year. I can do this. Thank you!
Great instructive video. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year and this was ‘our’ song - before we tied the knot all those years ago. Now I can properly learn it and play it to my lovely wife. A big thank you.
I was probably 11 years old or so when this was playing on the radio non-stop! A beautiful Burt Bacharach / Hal David tune, and now so beautifully taught and accessible to guitar players! What a fantastic lesson; thank you!!!
Nice choice Rob, I've been a fan of Burt Bacharach since dot and was dismayed he didn't get to Adelaide where I was waiting for him. Then he had the nerve to die on me. The least I can do is learn this song you've so brilliantly chosen from his stellar catalogue.
This is gold dust. I didn't think I'd find a guitar lesson for this song but you've nailed it. And it's great to find someone who also can't stand the melismatic maelstrom of the likes of Mariah Carey. Just hold the note as the wonderful Whitney did so beautifully, with only a tiny bit of melisma where it actually added something. Thanks for posting this. Have a great weekend. Myles, London
Thanks Rob! Heard this song on the radio the other day and remembered how much I enjoyed it when it was on the charts in July of 1968. Appreciate your tutorial. Nicely done!!
Fantastic song bringing back so many memories of us as family driving through France when my girls were little - they began to know the ‘cassette’ (!!) really well and we would all sing along!! Brilliant, Rob, keep it up.
Hello Rob just discovered your great channel . The song was an old fav of my Mums, so shall learn this as best as . Love your easy, humourous manner and instruction big thanks . David

Excellent chording. Main challenge for me is at the end of the first verse, from Fmaj7 to Bbmaj7. Getting that pinky and ring finger where it belongs, quickly!
Rob, this is very much appreciated. Your teaching style is the best! There is a beautiful song by Kenny Rankin I have been trying to figure out on guitar - "Silver Morning". I know you could certainly figure it out!
Hi Rob. Have you ever tried loco in Acapulco. I know the guitar is nowhere to be seen but love the intro the tune and any lick in the middle. All the best. I love your videos. Peter
You actually sing that better than Herb Alpert, I never thought his voice did that song justice and the song was over produced sort of like Phil Spector gone horribly wrong.
Hi Rob, great song with great chords. (so cool) Any chance of giving some tips/lesson on how to turn this into finger picking style tune?... for use people who can't sing won't sing. Cheers.
I play this one with some fairly standard Travis picking (with pick, but why not fingers) and it sounds good. A little embellishment like a hammer on and it goes well. Thanks to Rob for chording this up with lyrics. A couple new chords to work with, including the thumb!
Great song and works well on guitar. Thanks for your tutorials. Already recorded my version of this based on you video and it will be added to the th-cam.com/video/L50pPX90YC4/w-d-xo.html Gypsy Pop reportiore.

Very nicely done Rob. I’m going to see Herb Alpert tomorrow (3/24), in San Antonio and I have a feeling he’ll play this one.
Hey Rob, hadn't thought to learn this one, awesome pick.
Nice work, Rob. Many thanks.

Great lesson Rob
Great song Rob just subscribed 😊
Thanks
Cheers Dave. 👍🏻😎
I remember this song as a child, herb Alpert and the tiujanna brass,I think it was the only record my father had.😂😂
Tiuàjanna brass version rocks. Although I had to do a double take on Burt's version. My memory blended the two.
Awesome! Thank you! Do you have a list alphabetized by artist then song for which you have videos and the pdf to download?
Not yet!
Mariah sends her love😮
