  • -Anyway you would desire, that’s your nature.
    - is desire the source of all misery?
-Desire is not the source of all misery, unfulfilled desire is the source of all misery
    -Shall we kill the desire?
-The energy which you call as desire is not different from the energy that you call as life.
    -Your life is desire.
-The very basis of your life is desire
-do not deceive yourself with these things. Desire is the very essence of your life.
-desire is an unending thing. If you fulfill one,the next one will be ready.
    - your desire’s ultimate goal is unboundedness, the infinite nature.
-you don’t have to destroy your desire, because you cannot.
    - why are all the forbidden things so enjoyable, and how to stay away from such temptations?
-you cannot take one thought out of your mind.If you make efforts, it will only multiply.
-what you don’t want to think about, that’s all you will think about.

As sadhguru once said himself, "we have so much thought on the future and what we want to have then, we have forgotten about the past when all we wanted is what we have right now."

I have never heard anyone talking so sensibly and practically. People believe in ideas which are one hundred per cent unpractiall and that produces huge guilt, which affects all the five sheaths.

my desire was destroyed when my inner being felt shattered I lost all of what I struggled for and most of 15 year of my prime time. i did not have any desires or passions anymore i was defeated i felt like a zombie aimless wandering. i wondered why i choose a life on earth. I became apathi, no desires nothing. i just did not want to be around here anymore

As long as if you don’t cling to any desire you are alright. Just be aware of no matter what arise because you are the awareness.✌🏻

Desire for nothing except desirelessness. Hope for nothing except to rise above all hopes. Want nothing and you will have everything.
Real happiness lies in making others happy. The real desire is that which leads you to become perfect in order to make others perfect. The real aim is that which aims to make others become God by first attaining Godhood yourself.
Be angry with none but your weakness. Hate none but your lustful self. Be greedy to own more and more wealth of tolerance and justice. Let your temptation be to tempt me with your love in order to receive my grace. Wage war against your desires and Godhood will be your victory.

    Desires are like seasons..
I would say u need fire in your heart to do work in this world.
If at all a desire should take roots, it should be to selflessness and do help to the world.
A good action /a good cause
At the end desires will be burnt anyway.

You are so wise Sadhguru, like Soloman. My top desire has always been to marry a very cute, Christian, loving girl covered with cute freckles. i met a girl like that named Leah, but she broke up with me because her father yelled at her for dating me because he was jealous that, in his mind, I was wealthier than him. He went to university to be a minister, but could not find such a job. So, he became angry being, in his mind, only a house painter.

I think a huge problem is how concepts, in this case "desire", is interpreted, and then translated into English. That word relates to Attachment, to Craving, to Clinging; it is that anxious and neurotic drive towards obtaining something, or someone, out of a sense of absolute need. This sense of need is an illusion, a misperception and misconceptualization. It is when we think that "self" is defined by that thing or person, and therefore, develop a sense of entitlement with it.
That has nothing to do with desire for happiness, or to love one's child and see them succeed, or for one's business to be successful. But if your sense of self is defined by those things, then this desire becomes Attachment. If your desire is to unite with that which is not you, and if unfulfilled desire is the source of suffering, since it is impossible to unite with that which is not you, there will always be suffering.

That makes a lot of sense. Recently, I've been contemplating this and realised that if we had no desire to live, to eat, sleep, drink, go to toilet, we would be dead in days or weeks.
Us wanting to go to get some food because we're lacking nutrients and other elements of the food is something that keeps us alive (I'm not referring to comfort food, emotional eating). Have no desire for food and you'll head towards death- it'll became a process of exercising one's will power in order to not die.
So... Having said that, it is obvious that not all desires are bad OR that maybe the desires themselves are not something that's bad, but the way we handle them and our ability to conduct this whole process. Different actions have different outcomes. Some desires lead towars the heavily destructive outcomes, those we'd rather not do if we could, but that does not mean that the desire itself is bad. Desire is a desire and that's it.
Now, if we're not able to direct ourselves towards something noble, good, and harmonious, that seems like a problem. The question is how do we conduct this whole process, what can we do about it so that we do what's best and don't engage with the rest?

You came into life because of desire. A subconscious mind once you were and a conscience mind that you have become. Seeing from a blind man view by just hearing is a desire is all from a subconscious mind. Subconsciously both good and bad happens. Now you are conscious and you have chosen your side. You live by it and die by it. Don’t desire just prepare yourself. Desire has no boundaries

Both are the ways to samadhi. To ignore & to Watch Toughts continuously. But thought is a part of yourself. It is better to Watch the illusion rather than running away. Because running away can't clear the illusion but temporary ignoring. Like in Deep sleep state. BUT Permanent freedom lies in continuous watching thoughts arising & subsiding like waves in the Ocean!

Here is my opinion about what he said. Limits are there for us to be guided in our life. If you desire something that will destroy your life, will you still do it even if you know that it is bad? He said that we should act on our natural inclination to be joyful, what if our natural inclination would do harm to us? Just sharing my opinion. I am willing to accept criticism and to be corrected

    How to desire consciously???

  • @djaridion3070
    @djaridion3070 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Raising a good new generation of children is a responsibility of a father as much as it is a responsibility of a mother. To say that mothers are especially responsible for this and must be more conscious is outright unfair and shifts the blame from fathers to mothers. Both parents have brought a new life into the world and both must be equally responsible for raising it well.

Even fulfilled desire can cause suffering in the end like diabetic patient having desire to eat sweets.. desire means a craving without any sort of righteousness or dharma in it.. a man desiring another mans wife. Even if it is fulfilled at first later it brings suffering. So you wanting for something is not the point whether it is dharmic wanting is. Desire for god, modest living, doing duty is dharmic wanting it wont give suffering in the end. Understand guys.

Desire alone has no power to destroy. When it is followed by conception and maturation, then and only then, does desire become destructive.

All desire is generated by thought.
If you constantly think about somthing you will generate alot of desire in the body, which is emotion.
Learn to find the off button of your mind.
If your not thinking about somthing, you're not generating desire for that object.
Learn to control thought and you will reduce attachment.
To be free of attatchment to objects and even people is a wonderful way to live.
Paradoxically you will feel a deep spritual love for all life.
      Works like magic!
