    • @JuggyBohab
      @JuggyBohab 8 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      there's another theory that goes along with that one where sean connery's character from the movie the rock is the same as his james bond character and that john mason is his real name. both were born in scotland...both worked for british secret intelligence....mason was captured stealing secrets around the same time he stopped playing bond...

    • @jnovi86
      @jnovi86 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      The Bond one does fit perfectly, until the events of Skyfall where they showed his parent's graves and his family name is Bond. Now, MI6 could have changed the tombstones (and the engraving on his dad's shotgun) or it could just be coincidence that he happens to have the last name Bond, but I am pissed at Skyfall for doing that because I had always believed that 007 and James Bond were code names and not the representation of a single person.

      I would be happy if we could just forget Skyfall and SPECTRE.

    • @Gahep
      @Gahep 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Actually, Skyfall is not really a problem. The Daniel Craig movies are not linked to the previous ones as Casino Royale is a reboot of the James Bond universe (as it is told on the Casino Royale's wikipedia page). They are two movies saga : the one from 1962 to 2002 and the one that started in 2006. That is also why Spectre is so similar to From Russia with Love.

    • @scootybooty1363
      @scootybooty1363 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      My friend has a pretty bonkers theory to go along with this that in order to get their agents up to the '007-calibre,' MI6 puts designated agents through a brainwashing program thing to pass on the memories and experience of past Bonds, and the fact that each Bond is different from each other is a sign that the process isn't perfect and that's the original agent's personalities coming through again.

    I had my own theory about the television show, Murder She Wrote. Each episode more or less followed this pattern: A world-famous murder mystery writer is in the area where someone has been killed. Sometimes on her own, sometimes working with the police, this writer appears to solve the crime. She points the finger at the alleged perpetrator who is taken into custody. Another happy ending. BUT what if this woman was in fact a serial killer who had the extra thrill of casting the blame for her acts on an innocent person? I mean, where ever she went, someone was killed. It makes sense, doesn't it?

      I always think of the films and book as being two different universes of the same story, where continuity is always going to be different in either one.
      Fiction always has these weird plot holes. For the books, maybe bond just secretly lives a reeealy long time like a super human (because the rest of the things that happen are no more sane or logical) and always has plastic surgery every now and then. Maybe this could be transferred over to the films too.

    • @Xheph
      @Xheph 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Amaranthus616 Not possible. There is a remark about the death of Bond's wife in one of the Daniel Craig films, James Bond was, however, never married in the Daniel Craig era and he only ever married once during George Lazenby's 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service.'

    • @franciscopereira2341
      @franciscopereira2341 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      well, not really. sure, you can do that with any movie, but it ruins most of them. for example, there were theories that the Harry Potter universe was just a dream in harry's head and in the end he would wake up in his shitty life. he just dreamed of a life better than the one he had. that would be awful there was not a single hint in all 8 movies or 7 books.
      What im trying to say is, you need the hints, imagery and simbolism so that your theory doesnt seem far fetched. if you just end a perfectly normal movie with "and then he woke up. it was all but a dream" your ending is shit

  • @Omeganed0
    @Omeganed0 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Some decent theories, but I always have to roll my eyes whenever someone suggests 'oh it's all a dying dream' or 'oh, they're just crazy/hallucinating.' I can't think of a story where someone hasn't thrown that out.
    I admit, I had never heard #1.

    Potter fan theory that i like:
    Ron died in the chamber of secrets. Harry has guilt fueled delusions that he's still around. Hermione is a lonely spinster forever (or at least until her early 30's).
    Ron's continued presence can be explained by interactions with Neville, who harry uses as a 1 to 1 replacement, and magic (mostly from Hermione who knows Harry's crazy but feels bad for him).

      I get the point you're making, but it's not the whole movie - it's just that there's a twist within the movie. With Grease, it makes total sense that the first part of the movie was real, but the second part (the one with people randomly bursting into song and a car flying off) is a coma dream. It actually makes MORE sense than the actual movie.

      +James R The most unoriginal idea ever. Can be imposed on every single single that exists.
      What if they're in a coma. What if it's all just a dream. What if they're all dead and they're in a limbo just imagining it all. It fills the gaps, 'cause you can find gaps everywhere if you look hard enough. Same in real life, if you don't understand something you can say that it's all in your mind, or God did it. Then think you're a ploughing genius.
      What happened to the good old "movie magic"? Does everything have to make complete sense in our real-life standards? Do people not have imagination left anymore? Or respect for aesthetics or our famous movie magic?

    Disney's Tarzan: Clayton is Tarzan's uncle. This is the theory that Tarzan's father (Lord Greystoke) is Clayton's brother.
    Several things to suggest this:
    1) Of all of the humans that appear in the film, Tarzan, Lord Greystoke and Clayton are the only ones to have a facial structure where their chin protrudes out as far as their crooked nose. Possibly a familial trait
    2) When Tarzan first meets Clayton and says his name, Clayton replies "Have we met?" whilst giving him a look to suggest that he finds his face familiar. Although it's implied that Clayton is only saying this in response to Tarzan knowing his name, it may be because he recognizes the face of his brother who he hasn't seen in 20+ years.
    3) The biggest one. People refer to him as "Mr Clayton" implying that Clayton is his surname. In the original books, Lord Greystoke was a commoner who married Lady Greystoke, a noble, and took her noble name upon entering the family. His name from before that was "John Clayton"

    Well, the 007 one, the Grease one, the Toy Story one and the E.T. one are true I reckon.
    They weren't just properly explained in the movies but were somehow confirmed.
    The Inception one was indeed explained from the director Nolan, he said that the point is not to understand whether he's in a dream or not, but that the real world is the one we think is real because we make it legit for us (and so does Cobb at the end of the movie).
    The Pixar one is just a smart theory that nobody working at Pixar wants to talk about officially and the rest of it is mere bullshit.

Also, seeing that some kid was wearing a Yoda mask, and ET recognized the likeness of Yoda's kind - and of course, the appearance of ET's in the Star Wars prequels - not only suggest that ET and Star Wars are in the same universe, but that there is also a Star Wars film franchise in this universe - which might suggest the possibility of George Lucas having been kidnapped by aliens, taken to that far-away galaxy, seeing all those aliens and epic space battles, escaping back to Earth and then thinking to himself 'This would make a great movie!'

It's kind of undone by The Dude saying "Thank-you Donnie" when Donnie tells him the phone is ringing, but it's a fun theory anyway. As I recall, it's the only time the Dude addresses in the entire movie, though. I guess one could explain it away because Dude has come to accept the imaginary Donnie, and Donnie is pointing out something obvious, so Dude just reacts to no one.

    Pixar and Roseanne also take place in the same universe:
    Andy is the son of both Laurie Metcalfe characters, Jackie Harris and "Emily". When Jackie is in the delivery room before giving birth, we find out from her mother Bev that "Jackie" came from Roseanne's childhood mispronunciation of "Marjorie", My Jackie. this was shortened to simply Jackie, and the name stuck. Not too different than a "Margaret/Peggy" change or other nicknames a person may go by.
    (My grandmother told us a similar story about my mother and her sister years before the show was on the air, with mom shortening "Deanna" to "Nan", despite being 8yo. There is also a common family name on dad's side that I thankfully did not get saddled with.)
    also, John Goodman stars in both as Dan Conner and James P "Sully" Sullivan in the Monsters Inc/U movies.
    This theory also opens up the "snow globe":
    knowyourmeme.com/memes/tommy-westphalls-universe
    Titanic - Jack's future knowledge is explained as he is a young Jack Harkness, and Rose is Rose Tyler's (great)grandmother. Jack ensures she survives so that Rose can live, become Bad Wolf, and make him immortal so that he will become the Face of Boe. oh, and both get to work with a post-Time War Doctor, setting him on his right path, too.

    The James Bond one fits with the changes in actors: Connery is there from Dr No to You only Live Twice, then retires. Lazenby takes over (OHMSS), gets married, she's murdered, he's broken. Connery comes back to fill in and get revenge on Blofeld (who he failed to kill before retiring making him responsible), then goes back into retirement. Moore comes in as the new Bond, and his first mission (Live and Let Die) is about drug smuggling (hardly the usual end of the world stuff). He eventually retires, and Dalton takes over. He doesn't last long before going rogue (Licence to Kill) so in comes Brosnan. He suffers a long-term injury (The World is Not Enough) which he manages to cover up, but is then captured and tortured and suspected of having broken (Die Another Day) so he retires (with a cache of diamonds...) which brings us to Daniel Craig. All the way through Casino Royale it is repeated that he is a brand-new 007.

    The lyrics for Casino Royale's opening, 'You Know My Name', read like a briefing of what the title really MEANS to the latest candidate for the title of Bond, making sure his ego is in check and that he still shows confidence despite such dangerous missions.
    "If you take a life do you know what you'll give? Odds are you won't like what it is."
    "I've seen angels fall from blinding heights, but you yourself are nothing so divine. Just next in line."
    "I've seen this diamond cut through harder men than you yourself, but if you must pretend, you may meet your end."

      Marinade21 what about that time in OHMSS where lazenby bond looks over things from previous missions and reminisces about them, if the code name theory is correct then he would never have done thoes missions and not have the objects to remenis about.
      What about the blofeld trillogy where connery bond is hunting down blofeld because he killed his wife, if the code name theory was correct he would have no reason to do that because his wife would never have died
      what about in for your eyes only where moore bond puts flowers on traceys grave, if the codename theory was correct then why would he put flowers on a grave of someone he never met who was married to an agent he never met? Also from that movie he fights blofeld and blofeld recognizes him as bond even though, if the codename theory is correct, they never had dealings with each other so he wouldnt know who roger moore is.
      what about in licence to kill where leighter mentions to della how bond used to be married and it was implied that it ended tragically. bit of a coincidence 2 different bonds had 2 equally tragic marriages. if the codename thoery was correct that would never have been written like that
      what about in skyfall where we LITERALLY see bonds parents names on their graves, and guess what, they are called bond. and how about in the same movie where kinkade recognized bond from being a kid and knew him as james bond, YEARS before he would ever be that if the codename theory was correct.

    Funny thing about that "Bond tells his name way too often": in Ian Fleming's original books (and also in books written later by other people), that the first movies and Casino Royale were based on, Bond has several fake names, and he uses them too. That just doesn't help much, because other "Scret Services" have descriptions of him in their archives. And for some reason someone in the books always manages to find out who Bond actually is and he almost dies... But actually, at least in one John Gardner's Bond-books, is mentioned that the British Secret Service actually has some "rules" about cover names: never use Smith, Jones, Green, or Brown, as your last name. Bond (who in that book uses name "Mr. Boldman") teaches it to an East-German girl. Also in books Bond's always described as tall man with blue eyes and black hair, with scars covering most of his body. Even though first of the original books happen in 1950s, and some books by other people even happen in early 21st century, if there's a need to describe how Bond looks, that's how he looks, and it hasn't changed much in books.
    But for some reason, in movies Bond never seems to have a fake identity to use. Of course, movies can't keep the same actor forever, because Bond is a fictional character and is forever young enough to be physically strong enough for his jobs but old enough to be experienced and skilled in his job, when real people get old and can't be good-looking and be the Bond forever. And that's the only thing why the character's look in the movie changes

    That ET story would make more sense if Star Wars merchandise wasn't present everywhere. ET is really just a christ figure. Seriously. He works miracles, he comes back from the dead and you know that famous picture of seeing Christ's heart inside his chest? Yeah, ET has that. There's even a moment when he rises from the dead wearing a "robe" while you can see his heart inside his chest. There's even a moment after he dies where Elliot says "I love you" and "I'll always believe in you".

When Tracy from On Her Majejsty's Secret Service marries Bond and then is killed by Blofeld, in a later film James bond goes to her grave and it says "Tracy Bond" on it. Though it would make sense, originally this was not the case. James Bond was his name. You wouldn't put your code name on the gravestone of your dead wife :D

      +Lesbiwolf92 As long as they're not saying this is actually a post-apocalyptic world when it's not, or one of few choices people seem to pick from for these theories. Seriously just watch some of these types of videos and tell me you don't see a pattern too.

      I sat through a few of those top 10-15 fan theories/creepypasta lists and most of them are either "they were actually all DEAD!!!" or someone is in a coma for some reason.
      Pokemon, Adventure time, Rugrats, Ed, Edd and Eddy, Homer after the Duff beer, Spongebob, MLP and that is all off the top of my head at the moment.

      I suppose it is the same with the overly gore-tastic ones. I think they assume copious trauma and gore will be really shocking and disturbing. At least these weren't hyper realistic fan theories.

      +JoyfullJuneBug I believe I've seen some theories that Lucas wanted to make Jar Jar a sith lord, but the universal ridicule of the character sent him to the story sidelines..ergo Count Dooku was created for episode 2..just a theory..

    The James Bond "theory" is the realest one on the list. I mean think about it, being a spy is a dangerous job. So each "James Bond" either dies or retires. It's honestly the best way to explain the changing faces, and personalities, of James Bond

    One of my favorites is Film Theory's idea that Agent Smith is the One and not Neo in the Matrix movies. It actually changes the entire narrative once they break it down. It's pretty legit.

    I just wanted to say that of the "Top 10" channels out there, I think yours is the most interesting. You don't delve into stupidity without identifying it as stupidity. You don't say things like "It has been said that Mars is actually an orange, which was stuck in the sky by Albert Einstein. Though "scientists" say that it's actually a planet that we've actually visited and have hard evidence that it's not an orange. There are those who think that this was all a conspiracy created by NASA to sell the movie "Mars Needs Moms". Which is true? That's up to you to decide."
