There was a whole interview with Jane up about this, on the Friends of Jane website. Jane stated that she took the part because it gave her the opportunity to play someone who was dying. They did not ask her back and THEN cut up her performance; they cut up her performance, believing of course they could get her back, and THEN they told her about it. Jane was MAD. Here she had put so much effort into this dying performance, and they had cut it all up! But, because they were desperate, she agreed to do the two more, and then thought the storyline was laughable, because nobody would get married that fast. Incidentally, the only reason she did Dr. Quinn was that she had found out her third husband not only cheated but gambled away all their money and she was on the hook for HIS gambling debts. She was desperate to get work, and Dr. Quinn came calling, BUT they would not give her the movie unless she also did the series.
The only thing jane Seymour was known for in the U.S. was Battlestar Galactica. She was in live and let die. and Sinbad and the eye of tiger. I did not know this until after Battlestar Galactica
She was absolutely great in the NBC Mini Series "the Awakening Land" w/Elizabeth Montgomery, Hal Holbrook, and Steven Keats. It's worth looking up, I assure you.
When the character of Sheba was introduced later and became a new love interest for Apollo I think it was no accident that they cast an actress who looked very much like Jane Seymour. (Ann Lockhart was great!). Ask for Serena choosing Apollo to take care of her son, I don't think so. Why would she choose a colonial warrior (i.e. a fighter pilot) who had a high risk of being killed every single day? That would just leave Boxey orphaned for a second time, and according to Galactica 1980 that's exactly what happened!
Mara? You mean Maren Jensen? She was a beauty for sure, but they fired her because (they said) she couldn't act! I guess you must have only liked brunettes though because you didn't mention Laurette Spang (Cassiopeia) who was blonde!
The filming of Lost Planet, in actual Egypt, where doubles for Adams, Serena, and Apollo walk to the Pyramids, and through ruins,....and, Richard Hatch tells in interviews, the actors did not go. And, in Egypt, women could not wear trousers, so a young Egyptian male was "Serinia" and hatch quipped "the walk -and anatomy" are not Jane Seymour -he had a crush on her, when they worked on the show.
For me, the most memorable person on BG was never seen. Her's was the voice broadcasting the general announcements when a crisis was imminent, like contact with enemy ships, etc. Any idea who she was? I loved her voice! I best remember Seymour from a mini-series called 'The Awakening Land', in which they tried mightily to make that beautiful woman seem a plain backwoods woman, failing utterly.
@@bob1967-p6r Time After Time with Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen. Yes, both movies are really good. I don’t think anyone has reacted to Time After Time yet.
That was Sheba (Ann Lockhart). She was a fighter pilot from the Pegasus who became a new love interest for Apollo. It was probably no accident that she looked a lot like Jane Seymour
As aired on ABC-TV, Boxey was definitely Serina's son, given all the talk about his father, etc. with Apollo later and remember, she screams after him during the attack as if she is his mother. She would not have done that if she didn't even know him. The idea that Boxey was just an orphan comes from the earliest drafts of the script, where indeed, Boxey was just an orphan taken in by Serina. Also, since the novelization of Saga of a Star World was based on early script ideas, Boxey is portrayed as an orphan in the official novelization as well. So that's why this idea has persisted from the very beginning. But somewhere along the way, they changed the concept and according to the actual filmed tv show, Boxey is Serina's son.
@@Battlestarcallisto From the book "Battlestar Gallactica" Chapter 2 Serena just found/rescued the boy. She had to ask him his name. I don't have the videos to source to challenge the point that way. It's so stupid to argue over fictional people in a fictional universe. Either way, a great show with great characters. Be well.
Aaah, you are referring to Time After Time, the suspense thriller with Malcolm McDowell. Yes, that's a good movie as well. The one with Jane Seymour was Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve but that was a love story. One of my favorite movies, btw!
I was in love with Jane Seymour since I saw LIVE AND LET DIE in the cinema in 1973 when I was 12. By 1978, she had gotten even more beautiful.
Lets be honest, that woman stayed beautiful in whatever stage. Hell in wedding crashers I thought she was hot.
Jane Seymour was beautiful and active from 1973 to 2020. She won multiple awards, mainly in Europe/England.

Jane Seymour’s Serina left a void in the show that the other three female leads were never able to fill.
They tried.

Dr Quinn Medicine Woman.

I was a youth watching the original BSG - I had a "thing" for Jane, and Mara, and Anne....formative attraction 🤭

i wonder what the three miniseries were supposed to be.

I liked the classical BATTELSTAR GALACTICA much more as the remasted version
Um ... as I recall, Serena found Boxey as an orphan during the attack.
My impression was that she "adopted" him during the escape from the attack.

you can see a lizard on the imperious leader in the pilot. do you know the 3 brains structure of the cylons. i like you i am going to subscribe.
Such a shame Serina was killed off.
Kept her and later they could of revealed she was Cain's daughter😮
