This show is great. The development of characters is insane. Characters you start loving you end up hating, characters you hate become the most lovable, Others make you love and hate them at different times.
Took me 3-4 tries to get through the pilot over a span of a couple of years because I thought it was so bad. Finally got through it in 2020 and fell in love with the show. The first season isn't the best (especially the first couple of episodes) but after that the show improves an insane amount.
No show does this better then this show, they develop amazingly. I was thinking about you reacting to it. The shows first season lays down the basics but it gets much better as it goes along. The one show where I feel like it shows the true way of humans and what they’ll do for survival. (It starts with “kids” for the first few eps but is much diff as it goes along) I’d recommend you watch the rest of the show even for yourselves if not for reactions. It’s kind of game of thrones mixed with dystopian. Octavia lowkey annoying the first few eps but she’s one of the best characters, all characters develop incredibly. This is one of the better shows out there, I’d erase it from my mind and rewatch it along with Tvd / GoT / breaking bad etc ALSO everything gets explained very well. And yes there’s a review at 18. I totally realized you guys started it and JerBear did as well lol YES
This definitely starts a bit cheesy and a little teenish but it really changes. It tackles lots of dark themes, it takes risks and does like to kill off characters. Hoping you guys will stick with it because it really picks up. Season 1 is more about getting the footing of the show, understanding the characters etc, season 2 takes a darker turn and really changes the overview of the show IMO. Hope you guys react more!

They start new shows if they think it’s good enough to start a new series on the show. However an episode request is required. For the Vampire diaries for example it took like the first 3 or 4 episodes to be an “episode request” before they decided to watch the full series. So someone on Patreon needs to pay them 25 bucks to watch the second episode etc.
Queen OCTAVIA! Best character in the whole damn show hands down! For me BEST FEMALE CHARACTER of all time, ever created in all of TV history, I have seen over 1000 different shows and till this day she is still my fav female character! Other 2 that come CLOSE to her at least for me are Katherine from TVD and Dany from GOT! But yeah this show is so damn epic, S1 is pretty cringe and bad acting, gets better towards the end of S1 and starting with S2 each season gets more epic! My fav seasons are 2,4,3,5,6,1,7 and for GOAT tier starting with number one OCTAVIA, LEXA, MURPHY, LINCOLN & RAVEN! I really hope you guys continue with this show, you wont regret it, just get past S1 hahahhaha... :)

Actually, ALL of THE KNOWLEDGE is being passed down on the ARK … that’s the whole point. Preparing the future generations for when its time to go back down to earth, so they csn survive and know what to do to rebuild the society…

Octavia is actually my favourite. She was my main reason to keep watching. When I saw her strip and dive into the river I had the same reaction as that "nerd". Keep watching it, the show really takes off within a few short episodes.
Hi- first time watching a reaction from you, very impressed by the depth of discussion. The Expanse is my favorite sci-fi and 2nd fave show of all time, so you perked my ears right away. Stick with The 100, as amazing as it may seem, this iffy pilot rapidly turns into the wildest ride, never near flawless but always bold- in fact, I'd say its high moments hit as high as Expanse, and that's verrry high praise. If you like 'lore' and world-building, this gets incredibly good. And, it also becomes maybe the best case study ever in the pitfalls and mechanics of writing for multi-season TV (there are books, but unlike Expanse they immediately divert from TV and have nothing to do with each other, there is no 'guide'). In the Pilot specifically, my favorite part is the very end, right with the cringe-iest CW moment and music playing, BAM Jasper gets the spear, the music abruptly cuts, the metal sign clatters to the ground, and then silence. I feel this was the show's statement that yeah, we hooked a 'cw audience' in, but from right now on, this will be a VERY different show. Cheers!
In my opinion, the first season goes from meh to kinda good, then seasons two to five are my sweet spot (with some issues but no dealbreakers for me) but after that, the last two seasons really bummed me out and I don't think I'll ever rewatch that portion of the show.
First episode is like a teenage show just fun, but the topics since episode 3 or 4 made this show unique and I'm sure there is nothing like this. The real nature of human being, do the goals justifie the means?, do we deserve this planet?

I remember feeling that the episode was so cringe and thought to myself wow...have I really gotten so old where teenagers start to make me cringe? Netflix reviews(back when they had rating systems) were so positive back then that I ended up watching it again and it did in fact get a LOOOOOTbetter

This is definitely a pilot, the writing and acting gets increasingly better per episode and the story gets dark!
the last two seasons though were a disappointment. the show and plot went downhill at that point

The show is mainly good but season 1 is a bit dull but it definitely gets better near the end of the season and in season 2.

get thru 5 or 6 episodes and you'll be locked in. . . the writing in these first episodes is pretty sloppy but it gets better fast in the mid season
