“Where’s Bellamy?” Oh Dylan, don’t even get me STARTED. He was one of the two central main characters and the producers/script writers literally gave him the most USELESS and most anticlimactic death on this show. In a show where aliens and space travel is a norm, death by gunshot wound has got to be the most disappointing thing ever.
Agreed! But also to add to this: there were rumours (honestly not even rumours it just makes sense hahsh) that J R had a toxic relationship with Bob Morley behind set. So he spitefully meaninglessly killed off his character :)) and used Clarke to do it (ofc) because that would piss off the fans and the actors the most. Imagine developing such a good character for years only to trash is last minute. Only personal emotions would do that.
@@melancholy_joy Yeah I heard about that as well, that pettiness was one of the things that contributed to the downfall of the show. Not to mention one of the script writers was hell bent on killing as many main characters as possible. It’s why I blame the production team for ruining this.

Can we talk about how Octavia went from impulsive teenager to cannibalistic warrior princess in like two seasons Edit: Okay I love how many replies this got I completely forgot I commented this until I rewatched this video. Obviously I was exaggerating the time frame, yea it took a long time for her to get there and she had a more traumatic life than even most on the show because of the one kid rule. Octavia is crazy and I love it, she's a product of the world she lived in and she did what she had to do to survive. Also i didn't say she started the cannibalism. She was definitely pushed to it by the authority figures in her life (even though she was the leader). She was just a kid and was doing what the influential people around her told her would be best.
i think it was very easy for her to pick what she chose to believe in since she literally did not know any better like she lived under the floor until she was dropped down to earth when they found her lol
Dylan: "The only fans left, they needed to be satisfied." Literally every fan that made it to season 7: *Shouting in rage and left deeply dissatisfied with the entire 7th season* The entire season filled me with rage and I'm quite literally still not over it.
Dylan: "this ending was for the superfans" The "fans" (known as the ones who never gave up, mostly to spite the showrunner or because they were already too damaged by the show): ummmm nooo...
"i think it would have been better if everyone who died along the way- their souls were brought back to life and they could just live out the rest of their lives" THAT'S WHAT WE A L L WANTED. not that bullshit ending

Yeah definitely not the route they should’ve taken.

I have been looking for a shirt like Jasper's for a while now. But all I am seeing are the words "Earth Day 2052" in green font on a plain white or black shirt. I don't want a plain shirt I want one that actually looks like the one Jasper is wearing.
“This was shot like none of the people wanted to be here.” Bestie, you’ve never been more fucking correct. I can guarantee that more than half of the cast did not want to be filming this season because of how bad it was. The actors were asked in interviews how much they liked the ending and every single one made it seem like they never acted a day in their life with how “stoked” they were for the ending. You could tell that everyone was upset with how it went down
every time i see clips from interviews i laugh my ass off when the interviewer asks what they think of the ending and you can see everybody's expression change
I mean they can’t spoil it for the fans, even if they hate it too. More importantly, if they want to keep working in the industry, they can’t throw their producers and writers under the bus. That’s not just this show but the whole industry. Only Robert Pattinson got away with that (and a select likable few others) and that was during a time when everyone was hating on Twilight.
This show has so much potential. Don’t get me wrong I watched every single episode and I loved it but it would of been so much better if they focused on the themes of season 1 & 2. No need for the aliens, after life, and different dimensions
@@Ohfxckk hahah i just feel like pll was pretty consistently bad the whole time so the finale was expected. but the 100 had SOME really strong moments and potential, but the finale was just a whole bunch of nonsense
I hated the end of this show, BUT… one thing is clear, Octavia has one of the most impressive character arch ever! I love the development of this character, it’s amazing really. Who knew once we saw the pilot that Octavia Blake would be the best thing in the entire show huh lol
She ended up being my favorite by the end but I found her annoying as fuck in the beginning. And I would agree with the character arc being one of the best ever, I certainly didn’t see it coming. She’s a lot like Blair from G.G. You hate her at first and by the end she was my fav character.
What bugs me is the whole plot point of a few seasons is literally fighting off implants that take away emotions and put you in a virtual world that seemed so much better than earth because "humans need emotions it's what makes us blah blah blah." Only for everyone to be like "eternal life and happiness in an unknown place? Hell yea, sign me up!"
I mean, wasn't the actual problem that Alie wasn't giving them a choice? Literally Clarke asks her to give people their emotions back and let them choose and only after she refuses does Clarke have to shut her down for good. The real problem was robbing people of a choice and deceiving them and torturing them to get them to submit. With transcendence, it seems you're presented with peace and then given a choice. So all the actual problem presented in the 3rd season don't actually come to play here.
@@hinata1ize Choice is still an issue with transcendance because humanity only gets a choice to transcend or not once their representative passes the test of worthiness, and they didn't know that they would get that choice. If that representative doesn't pass, then the aliens eradicate all of mankind with Gen 9. As far as they knew, alien species decides their fate, and it's ready to either eradicate them all unprovoked, or fundamentally change the nature of their existence without consent. Then, plot twist, the aliens were like "mankind is good enough to be one of us, so you're good enough to have freedom of choice and stay human I guess :)". This season was about taking a leap of faith and being rewarded, but the writers went about it in a way that I find inconsistent with earlier themes
@@hinata1izethis and allie was erasing any memories connected to pain, even the whole existance of loved ones who died. When you transcend, i don’t think that happens, it just seems like they all become one or whatever.
when blodreina burned down the algae farm it didnt make sense to me at first but after rewatching the series (had to, needed to prove a point to a coworker) i understood why she did it. she didnt want to continue living in the bunker anymore now that they were able to get out. she wanted to leave that place and leave the bad stuff that happened there behind. move on and start anew in the valley. thats why she made the choice to force everyone to fight. to go to war.
"They fight for leadership, but they also fight for each other on bed." Even Dylan sorta ship Bellarke in the first few minutes. Sad how they ended tho.
Honestly Eliza Taylor (Clarke) is one of the best actors on the show. Once the writing actually started getting good, you could really see it. Idk, maybe I'm emotionally sensitive, but she really makes you _feel_ the trauma Clarke went through.
I dunno, she was a weird one. Like you say, I think she did the emotional scenes really well but her general dialogue and delivery was pretty shitty at times
Lmaooo she was easily one of the worst actors on the show…Wanheda 🤣🤣🤣 nobody felt more forced and awkward than Clarke, the only one who comes close is Abby. Grown-up Hope was cringe af too. It’s such a shame how bad they whiffed on Clarke with the terrible acting when so many of the other women were great and super savage….Octavia, Raven, Echo, Emori, Diyoza. Everyone around Clarke really carried her through the show.
Yeah season 1, especially the beginning, was cringey, but you can see Eliza and the other actors improve throughout. My favorite acting from her is in season 6 when she’s playing Josephine playing Clarke and when she’s playing Clarke playing Josephine. But she’s great throughout in emotional moments too.
@babybambi8997 It's because she was channelling her real life traumatic thoughts to achieve the desired emotion because she hadn't learned how to actors typically fake the emotions at that point in her life. This is from Lindsay's own words from interviews talking about her early life.
@@saifella976 i just finished reading all of the books and i would say that they are definitely worth reading. it’s a much different story than the show but in the best way. they also don’t have all of the same characters but there’s others that you would love, and wells gets to live lol

As far as I’m concerned, the show lasted 5 seasons. Watch seasons 1-5 and STOP 🛑 We survived the end of the world (again) and we have a second chance on this new planet. This time, we’ll do things right. THE END
"Creating a leadership structure is very important because otherwise you will have rogue groups who will do whatever they want and people are gonna clash" Couldn't have summed up the first few episodes any better
I feel like a lot of people enjoy seasons 1-5 (the cringe factor decreased substantially in season 2). It had some of the best character development I've seen on television, a wonderful slowburn romance -- yes, romance, and the moral dilemmas were fantastic. But I'm glad you were spared the pain, heartbreak, frustration, and gaslighting most of us endured for 7 years. I have still not recovered after that ending, and I will never touch the show again.
i strongly feel they should of ended it with season 5 because honestly we didn't need to know what happened on the planet should of left that to the imagination of the viewers, it was fine letting earth die and arriving someone new not knowing what happened next
I mean from half of season 2-4 were really good, though the show was underfunded for season 1 and they cranked the bsometer all the way up after season 5
@@yjlom i like seasons 2, 6, 3, 7 and 4. Season 1 was boring as hell and what was even happening at season 5, the plot was all over the place. God damn, how did Octavia become one of the best characters in this entire show? xD Also, the fact you didn't get to see Murphy's character development is an absolute outrage.
Lexa was such an underdeveloped, ruined character tbf. The whole Clexa debacle was so rushed and ridiculous aswell. @Diamond James its crazy tbh, clarke went from being betrayed and capture by lexa, to supposedly being in love with her in like 2 weeks. Not to mention she forced her to kill her love interest at the time (finn). It just made no sense, they also only knew each other for what, days/weeks. She is supposedly still distraught by her loss like 5-10 years later, give me a break.
@@jadeturner2921 She wouldn't have had to mercy kill him without Lexa's involvement. Obviously the situation is a lot more complex but that's the core of it. Lexa wanted Finn to face justice for his crimes and Clarke didn't want him to suffer.

As one of the 30 that actually got through the whole 7 seasons. yes, they managed to jump at least 12 sharks but still also recycle the same nuclear reaction plot point 4 times
Honestly the best thing about this show was character development in earlier seasons which is sadly the one thing you can’t get out of first and last, besides from drastically changed characters like Murphy
no literally because clarke does so many more morally grey things then bellamy but bellamy's had more of an impact because of his character development
I just binged this entire series with my bf and let me tell you EVERY TIME Bellamy and Clarke were on screen together I was like 👀👀👀👀 AND THEN SHE JUST KILLS HIM????? HUH????
They got married after S6 and then lost a child and the Bellamy actor missed half of S7 due to depression, so to reward them the showrunner made them lose a child in the show and made Clarke kill Bellamy. How messed up is that?

I can totally understand how cringe the last episode must feel if you didnt see everything before. For me, i cried almost all of the time. It's so much more impactful when you bonded with all the characters over seven seasons
This comment right here! I still get teary eyed when I think of the last episode. I was an emotional wreck for 3 weeks after I finsihed the last season. The show was a roller coaster, but the way one bonded with the characters, you just want the show to continue no matter how bad it gets. I wanted Clarke and Bellamy to be together at the end and I hate how they made him become in the last season. The only thing that made me feel alright was knowing the actors got married irl
For your curiosity Bellamy died at the hands of Clarke in like the second to last episode. She killed him because he became a dick because of falling for the cult bullshit (which turned out to be kinda true) and because Bellamy was threatening Madi (Clake's "daughter"). He was extremely badly written in this season because he had some stuff which prevented him from being there to record a lot of time and so he was only in like half the season
They could've written Bellamy different for the final season and still give Bob Morley the time off he needed. Instead of how they did it. So he would be in the final scene
One of the things I love about the show is how morally grey everyone is. I mean the main character alone commits genocide and kills so many people. The 100 is really not afraid to fucking kill everyone and it's great
Not everyone in this show committed genocide. Bellamy and Clarke pressed the button. Monty for example is not morally grey in my opinion. But yes most people in this show are. But still not on genocide level.

Instead of the whole transcendence thing they should've had them defeat the disciples, making it clear that they're just a cult, and then had everyone return to earth to rebuild civilization the way they had always intended to. Living in peace and no wars like Monty wanted
i think the point of the show was that human race was so broken they tried restarting several times but it all ended in wars and death, this is such a flawed lazy ending but for them to return to earth and live in peace is also not realistic 😭😭😭

Pretty sure Bob had something happen in his personal life and requested time out.. so the writers had to adjust last minute. They also kicked one dude out of the show for a bad joje on twitter. Plus ofc Alycia (lexa) left for fear the walking dead

Can we talk about how Octavia went from impulsive teenager to cannibalistic warrior princess in like two seasons
Edit:
Okay I love how many replies this got I completely forgot I commented this until I rewatched this video. I spent the pilot episode upset the fish didn't kill Octavia, then thought she was the best character by the end.
Octavia is the best
I thought it was quite beautiful, how it ended with transcendence and being with their loved ones after so much pain and terror.

@@Ktakahashi18 You can just search up The 100 books to find them, there are four of them. Tbh they are very different from the TV series, really the only thing that is the same is the general concept of 100 kids being sent down to Earth and having to face challenges. Besides that, the plot is pretty different, but I loved the book series and it had a totally normal and understandable ending haha.
how different are the books to the show?
@@Narque they are super different. I normally do not like reading the book after I watch the movie/ tv show, but they are completely different. The only thing that is the same is the general concept and some of the characters. But the plots are super different.
@@BriSimerman do the books go of on some weird alien theme like the series or do they stick to the general theme of seasons 1-4 if so i think i would be interested in reading them

im still SO upset about this, i can't even think about it
I’m pretending it never happened
And just like this in sad about the 100 and Bellamy again 😪😩
I wanted Clarke and Bellamy to be together at the end and I hate how they made him become in the last season. The only thing that made me feel alright was knowing the actors got married irl
i watched the entire show multiple times but when i finished the last episode i stared into space for like 10 munites bc of how random the finale was
I hit a dab before watching the finale. Ngl it was awesome

Dylan in most commentaries : "DONT EXPLAIN YOUR JOKES! SHOW, DONT TELL"
Also dylan in this video : "its funny cuz its not a real tree"
For your curiosity Bellamy died at the hands of Clarke in like the second to last episode. She killed him because he became a dick because of falling for the cult bullshit (which turned out to be kinda true) and because Bellamy was threatening Madi (Clake's "daughter"). He was extremely badly written in this season because he had some stuff which prevented him from being there to record a lot of time and so he was only in like half the season
They could've written Bellamy different for the final season and still give Bob Morley the time off he needed. Instead of how they did it. So he would be in the final scene
@@dutchgamer842 yes for sure
I *wondered* why they fridged him.
“I feel like as I get older I’m siding more with the villains” true true
Murphy definitely had the best character development
Don't forget Octavia! Her character arc was insane.
Not gonna lie, Octavia and Murphy were undoubtedly the most interesting characters in the show.
Cockroach always found his way back 😂
diyoza too!
I love cockroaches 🪳❤
One of the things I love about the show is how morally grey everyone is. I mean the main character alone commits genocide and kills so many people. The 100 is really not afraid to fucking kill everyone and it's great
Everyone commits genocide but it's how they do and why is what separates the hero and villains of the show
Not everyone in this show committed genocide. Bellamy and Clarke pressed the button. Monty for example is not morally grey in my opinion. But yes most people in this show are. But still not on genocide level.
@TheOutsider Jess which makes it so interesting

It really hurts watching the first episode again but I guess I was the target demo when it came out. This show was really carried by the character growth. Almost every main character had a massive change besides Clarke, the main character.
There was a tonne of growth for these post apocalypse survivors. Not mental or spiritual, but enjoying a poutine with every meal type of growth. They did exceptionally well with their available calories.
If 100 had a more condenced story and HBO budget, it would be one of the best shows of all time. Even though its CW, it is so worth watching all of it
eh the ending is pretty bad
@@johhnyh2207 i totally agree, i absolutely loved the show as a whole, especially up until the space criminals were introduced, but the ending was just so poorly made. They should have said all humans chose to com back and showed them settling into a happy ever after society

Dylan: “oh….. OH WAIT WHERE’S BELLAMY. I thought he was gonna make it to the last season” 🧍🏽♀️
Technically he did make it to the final season. Just not the final episode.
haha ik that was funny
Have you seen the hilarious video of “Clarke is crying because she is trying to explain the storyline to have it make sense that she has to kill Bellamy and she doesn’t understand it herself?” The show just got way to stupidly complicated for me

Well at least it it didn't get as bad as TWD, that fucking show refuses to end despite literally every character from the first few seasons being dead aside from Daryl.

Seasons 5 and 6 were good and had great character development. People only hate them because the show started to focus more on the sci-fi aspect, which was always there from the beginning.
There is truly no explanation for why I love this show so damn much
Dylan: Watching ONLY the first and last episodes
Also Dylan: I’ve seen the first two seasons before
I must say the writing for Octavia is a hidden gem in this CW show. Even when the acting lacked, the character development and story arc were everything. Gave me the slow madness, rage, and power that Daenerys deserved.
I couldn’t stomach Octavia in season 5, i skipped so, so much.
imo Marie is the second best actor on the show
Oh how much I loved Bellamy and how stupid was his death... I'm sorry Dylan could not experience this.
Bellamy’s kind of useless in the last season tbh
@@stellamoro1689 He was made useless because Jason wanted to spite everyone
@@stellamoro1689 Yeah because the actor didn't want to be in it that much so they fucked up his character... I feel like everyone who has watched the show were just as confused by the ending as Dylan. The ending made no sense at all.
i literally couldnt even get to the end. I tried so hard to watch the last couple seasons but when they killed off belamy i was like yeah ok no im done
i've watched it so many times that the ending makes sense
They literally just Alie chipped the human race and then how it ends. I can't.
What d'you mean? You mean to tell me that a show about human survival and trying to be like "human life on earth is the goal of our show" doesn't make any sense when it ends with said humanity going wherever to become setient weird alien food "beings of light" all because of a "plot twist" that appeared in the last... three episodes of the entire show????
The only part I aggressively agreed with Dylan is about the dog not being able to transcend 😭😭😭
Omg i cried so hard when I found out that the dog had to stay and suffer on earth 😭
It’s not that he is not able. It’s just that mankind pass the test so only human transcend. If the dog pass the test in sucess, all the doggo would have transcend !
It was a test for the human race. How can a dog transend if it's not human. Personally I pretend the show didn't continues after the first couple episodes of season 5 after everyone has been reunited from prime fire
It's ok... All dogs go to heaven
That was just sad, what did the doggo do
“They have a category for VIOLENCE?”
He said excitedly
😂😂
I'd love to see Dylan being this critical and analytical over a show he really loves and thinks is great, pointing out all the best parts! Like how he said he likes The Last Kingdom, it'd be great to see him cover his favourite episode or something, in a new format of highlighting excellent shows and films.
I think this is a fantastic idea!!

the “pencils down, pass your papers forward, grades will be posted friday” bit cracked me up so hard lmaooo
@@thucanbui1731 JASON ROTHENBERG: We wanted the moral of the story to be, simply stated, "Until we stop fighting, we're doomed." Until we stop killing each other in the name of country or tribe or even family, we're doomed to keep repeating that cycle of violence. And once we do and we link arms and we realize we're all in this together, then we can get to whatever comes next. In this case, it's transcendence. That was the moral of the story.
@@thucanbui1731 but agree that the ending was terrible
you should write fanfiction lmaooo i’d read it
as much as i disliked the supernatural trancendence thing, my thoughts of how they should of ended it was when clarke talks to the alien, the alien says humanity failed and will kill everyone, but Clarke suggest making a deal, we don't hear we cut to what we saw with octavia making peace between grounders and disciples come together as one, then everyone is teleported to earth confused the alien appears and tells them Clarke agreed to sacrifice herself to let all of you live, you could have raven ask what do you mean sacrifice, the alien responds turned to Chrystal, for that price i'm letting you all live and you get to start over on earth and have the alien disappear. you could then have maddie say something like "that's the second mom i lost" then have everyone turn around and however way you do it make it look like they're building a shelter and end it their.
Dylans look of both trauma and intrigue at Wanheda coming in, guns blazing, literally encapsulates how we all feel about Claire's arc.
