    Dave Rudabaugh was a legitimately bad dude. He taught Doc Holliday how to use a pistol. Bat Masterson recruited him for his squad of gunfighters in the "Railroad Wars." He then joined the Dodge City Gang and killed a deputy while trying to break one of his friends out of jail. He was eventually arrested (by Pat Garrett) as part of Billy the Kid's gang and was convicted and sentenced to 99 years, but he escaped. He fled to Arizona and joined the Clantons against Wyatt Earp and his brothers (so yes, he could have been cast in the movie "Tombstone" as well, since he was involved in many of the events in the film). When the Clanton gang broke up, he fled to Mexico. During a fight over a card game, he shot and killed two people, then left. He later came back to the bar, where he was killed and beheaded.

      @@funkmonsterinteresting, I didn't know that. As for the relations between the characters, I always thought it was little unfair to Chavez and Doc that the entire story ended so sentimental towards Pat ("Did I like him? Hell no, I loved the son of the bitch"). Billy had longer history with Doc and Chavez, and the scenarist sort of honored his relation with Garret more than he should have (comparing to his respective relations with Doc and Chavez), IMO.

    • @frankdees507
      @frankdees507 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@medo_pg7786True. I also wondered who Billy was most fond of in that movie. In the beginning he states that him, Doc and Chavez made a pact and were “pals forever”. Then as you pointed out, in the end he said he loved Pat Garrett. His reaction to Docs and Chavez’s deaths makes it obvious they were pals to the end, but the way he speaks of his love for Garrett, even after Garrett switched sides to the law, kinda hints that he has a brother bond with Garrett equal to and possibly even stronger than Doc and Chavez.

      It was a survivors fighting tactic. Knowing how to use your environment when fighting without a gun. The same as shooting an enemy with an arrow while hidden in a tree. Special forces strategies are based on such stealth tactics

      It was worth it just for the way Billy leans into the doorframe and says ‘Hi,’ to Governor Lew Wallace. This movie is a testament to friendship and staying true to yourself whatever the odds.
