I had to put this on 1.5x speed because this attorney’s opening statements were extremely slow and drawn out. This was absolutely ridiculous to listen to. I honestly only stayed long enough to write this post. This video should have been 10 minutes not 30. I feel so bad for this jury who is enduring this torture watching her facial expressions and horrible acting. This would have made me crazy enough to request to be excused for an xyz excuse. 😫
Seriously? "There was snot bubbling up from his grief". What kinda parallel is that? I think she needs to take a creative writing course or change her field to children's books bc I can't take her seriously!
For something to be "gaslighting" you have to prove that what is being said is not true, which has not been done. Fact is, Julie Jensen was mentally deranged and said demonstrably false things.
You are assuming she is a victim, which is what the trial is attempting to prove. Fact is, she was mentally deranged, and that is relevant when looking at what she said to other people.
Mark Jensen stepped on a bee and his eyes watered he was a mess of a man with snot bubbling up, legend has it he was only trying to defrost his wife with antifreeze but all went terribly wrong
This lawyer has a very weird facial mannerism. If I’m noticing it, then def. the jury is. She needs to watch herself on camera and correct it. In my opinion, it takes her strength away.
I know what you mean. She is projecting hurt and looking for sympathy. Looking sad at what she is relating and telling to the jury. As said in my og comment did she go to drama school.
There is nothing for the defence to work with so she's had to turn to a dramatic description of his reaction when he "found" his wife dead. It is so disrespectful and gaslighting of the memory of this lady. I understand it has to be done but I could never work to defend in a case like this. I would always worry that I would be paid back in some way; that something terrible would happen to me and I wouldn't be believed. Good job I'm not a lawyer. This lady also unfortunately has an annoying tone; I guess she has to talk slowly and dramatically though to try and spin out the "evidence" in his favour, as there pretty much isn't any. To be fair to her she has a pretty impossible task and I would imagine the jury have already made up their minds.
It doesn't have to be done. Her job is to check down the evidence of the prosecutor to ensure they have the ability to prove Jenson is a murderer beyond a reasonable doubt. Lying about the events that occured is not a part of the job
When lawyers try to embellish their words with affected emotion it always sounds fake and melodramatic and comes off insulting. It's insulting to the jury, to ask and expect them to believe such a sham. I j this woman would just tell the facts without the drama, she would be so much better off
It’s not a good look that he appears to be taking notes during his own attorney’s opening statement….it’s almost like he’s trying to remember HER version of things. Watching this man’s facial expressions today was so triggering as a DV survivor. I pray he’s convicted again.
Who doesn't have depression??? Moreover, she has either been happy n I an affair, or depressed n alone??!!! Ur defense strategy is f..ed up. SHame on u madam attorney
I think this defense attorney took an acting class b4 this opening! What a pain to listen to!! Snot bubbling from his nose!! Come on!! His tears were those of joy!!!!!!
So she gives her neighbor a letter and tells her neighbor to give the letter to the police saying that her husband murdered her...and she stayed to be murdered by him... Omg...what is wrong with this picture on both parts?...what is wrong with her mind staying there with him?....geeeezeeee..at least leave the house
You really can't tell anything from the guy generally because he's been incarcerated. That change a person. Though I did watch him closely and saw him smirk when the attorney said it was a happy family, or something like that.
I wouldn't say worse, Darrel Brooks and a few others I can think of had bad openings. BUT then again he wasn't even a lawyer so...yeah this was pretty terrible.
Oh man what a bad opening. She really needs to work on that acting. Just tell the story no need to put bad acting into it. If you can't act don't do it. Makes you look disingenuous
Mark should have left his wife when he found out about her affair, she didnt respect him obviously. She had and affair and he knew and she continued the affair. You leave when someone cheats on you.
Anti freeze is a painful way to go. I know a guy who got rid of cat that way. It kept getting into his trash can. He told me the noises it was making before it passed away.
WOW how can these people talk like this knowing full well he killed his poor wife, they are just as bad as him to be honest they need locking up aswell
Sure I also would do all my self-poising research when my whole family is at home, especially my two young kids. Just to avoid a busy signal 😂🤣😂 is she for real? People used to be far more relaxed with not being available 24/7 back then... avoiding a busy signal was not a thing

Was she writing this on the spot? I’m gonna say she was doing improv & writing this on the spot so therefore I can excuse her unusually odd, slow opening statement. Geez
If he is not guilty your title must be slander for there can't be an antifreeze killer if he is innocent and yet you still name him as the "antifreeze killer"
Pass me the antifreeze, I can't take another minute of this.

For something to be "gaslighting" you have to prove that what is being said is not true, which has not been done. Fact is, Julie Jensen was mentally deranged and said demonstrably false things.
I love how the only defense is to trash the victim. Like every time. Across the board.
So she drank antifreeze? Yeah right
