    What’s scary is that Ricky Bell and Charles White were a 1-2 punch. Life just isn’t fair sometimes. God bless, Ricky Bell. Rest In Peace. 🙏🏾🏈🙏🏾

    I’ve always wondered about the Ricky in the movie Boyz n the Hood. Always wearing a red SC jersey, number 42.

    Ricky carried the disease that killed him his whole life - he was playing football at a high level while his body was slowly dying. Very sad ending to a young life, 29 yrs. old. RIP Rick.

    In the year 1975, Ricky bell led the nation in rushing with 1,950 yard's, and 12 touchdowns! He should have won the Heisman trophy that year,his statistics were superior! Ricky Bell was bigger,stronger and faster,than Archie !!!! Rest in peace Ricky Bell,you were a great player in college and in the NFL. Peace and success to all of the USC fan's and alumni. That was awesome to watch, thank you for posting! There were some fantastic runs in there, especially at Notre Dame. What a tough runner he was. Mosi Tatupu was a heck of a fullback too.

      amen BT Ventura- Ricky sure was a horse..and you're right, Tatupu's skill set would be valuable enough to play in the league for a good amount of time. I love hearing curt Gowdys voice calling the Rose Bowl.

    42 is my favorite number. Not for Ronnie Lott,Paul Warfield or Charley Taylor etc. Its because of Ricky.Bell.

    • @PockyCandy
      @PockyCandy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, because there's not very much footage of Muncie, sadly. In fact, I believe that there's more footage of NFL Muncie than there is of Collegiate Muncie.

    Ricky Bell was a running back who would have ending his career in the nfl with over 15,000 plus easily if he wouldn't have died.

    Ricky Bell had a better year than Archie Griffin in 1975.

    • @bishlap
      @bishlap 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ricky was a better pro prospect than Archie, but he did not have the highlight reel long runs that Archie had, or Tony Dorsett. USC wasn't seen on the east coast as much as the other players either, esp. Archie/OSU, who was seen tearing it up every Saturday afternoon in those years.

      "Famous Amos" #20 on that very first Forty Niner (1981) Championship team.
      AKA fastest player on the team according to that year's media.

      We had season tickets to the Chargers from birth until my forties 1962-2011. I watched Muncie do some things here and there on TV when he was with New Orleans, but getting to see him every home game while in San Diego, I came to recognize what a rare breed he was...people used to say Mel Blount was so big for his position, and i put Muncie in that same class. He was huge for a running back of that era. He was also the fastest guy on the team...could catch, and run around, over and through a defender. He was a stud...to bad he partied so hard, i wonder what we could have seen without his body being sapped by the mounds of blow he was shoveling up his beak

    • @kendrickjones3115

      @@kch7051 Muncie was a BEAST by today's standards. He could do it all and when he got traded from N.O. to S.D. he REALLY BLOSSOMED into something extra special. A truly underrated NFL performer. #RIPChuckMuncie

      At Cal, they had a team of students whose job was to go to Chuck Muncie's dorm room and somehow jog him out've his slumber, get him in the shower, get him dressed, collect his books, and walk him to class.... all the while it was reported that he was like "huh, uh, oh, uhh?" He was so damn lazy and irresponsible! Apparently all he had to do was show up for classes, and he received automatic passing grades.
