I planted some Grecian wind flower bulbs( Anenome blanda) here in So. Cal end of September almost 8 weeks now. I haven't seen sny growth whatsoever. I've called some Anenome flower distributors and some have told me that the bulbs may be dormant waiting for the spring season. Is that true?????
I am growing on a much smaller scale. I was thinking of buying a small unheated coldframe box from amazon. Would these ranunculas do well in one of those for the winter? Partly shaded area..
I tried them in a plastic cold frame once, and it was a disaster. I also think it would depend on your zone. If you try it, I would definitely make sure to get a row cover/frost blanket for the coldest part of the year just in case - unless your zone is warmer. Good luck!
@@TONYAwiththeflowers I ordered a wooden cold frame greenhouse. I have never used one before so it will all be experimental/learning. No expectations! 😂 I live in Georgia so the winter's aren't as crazy as yours. No snow. But i definitely ordered frost protection blankets to wrap around it if we get below freezing.

My anemone corms is flat and don’t have a tip ,how to plant them ?
where do you find your best prices for buying corms and bulbs?
I do a lot of shopping around. I often buy ranunculus from tulip world or longfield gardens. Some places are definitely better value than others.
@@TONYAwiththeflowers Thank you! Your help is much appreciated.
So what happens if I don’t soak them before planting?
The sprouting rate will be less than 3%
It's possible to grow anemones from seeds?
Yes, anemones can be grown from seed.
