An old saying about drilling wheat. Drunk or sober sow wheat in October. Your a humble man James still having a sense of humour when things go tits up. As with us all the struggle continues.
I told you to bin that bloody unimog! Buy a Fastrac 8330 icon plenty of power and comfort and will do 70kph plus. And you'll get your IBC on the rear of it 👍Still far to wet here in north Bedfordshire to drill cereals. So me and father have decided to grow rice 👍😂😂😂
Once repaired perhaps it’s time to think about trading the Unimog in for a JCB 4240! Very impressed by the large area of hardstanding and also the speed at which the operator was moving the bales, and hope you get the wheat drilled and finished asap. Great video, very interesting to see the ins and outs and looking forward to the next one.
Fascinating James watching and listening, oh and learning from you 👍👍 it’s like we’re stood right next to you on the videos , your humour, knowledge and patience’s rates you very high 👍🍻
Thanks James, great update. What a double act you and Michael are. You even make a breakdown and traffic control seem like a laugh. Keep the videos coming.
Hi James, I have sprayed round up to burn off on ploughing when it’s frosty and it works. I used ph water softener and fulvic acid and I have never had a problem with wet leaf.
I had to google what blackgrass is and I’m very concerned at the amount Michael is transplanting from you to us, he needs to visit us first not last ……. 😬😬👍
Really enjoy your video’s James. Great interesting content with added humour. It cheers up after days of rain. Keep your chin up on these wet days. Keep pushing on .
So entertaining watching you & Michael, shame the unimog has broken down . Hope you get the wheat in , we should have a few decent days ahead of us so they are forecasting.
Just shows when daily problems are running against you a cool calm head gets it shorted, you can do a pm after once the seed is in the ground. The trucker really needs pulling up and explaining himself. Top update your getting there.
I think you're being a bit precious about damp leaves. The key is not a dry leaf, but a drying leaf. At 100 litres/ha, you're applying nothing. Get it on James.
Nice video. I‘m a agribuisness student from the north of germany. We are experiencing the same wet conditions like you. When you were younger, could you imagine running a business like this ?
Great video as usual. I've been going drilling tomorrow for about a fortnight now and still haven't started! Every time it starts to dry up it rains again. 😮
James back in the great summer of 2022 when the ground was like concrete , how did your system work then , did the terrano struggle with the hard ground, I know my topdown did . How many acres of wheat to drill Great video again ,
Cracking video again James. What a well oiled machine your farm is and you seem to be a good and fair boss which is always nice to see especially when you’re saying good things about your staff. What was that lorry driver thinking why didn’t he just say he hit the gate? Who’s your longest member off staff on the farm?
Fortunately your a motivator of men James, not one of these fkin idiots that start waving his arms around when things start going wrong... it all brings tea time.
I noticed in the start of your video you’re coat button was done up ,and later it was undone did the button fly off under stress. Great video keep them coming.
Great programs James, very well presented. Really enjoy the banter between Michael and yourself. Question. In good going conditions is the Horsch Serto 12m your best drill for cereals and how do your tractor drivers get on with them? Thank you.
great video and loike below High Vis and maybe some signs safe gaurd you and others, you sound a bit down I get that but your lawn looks lovely at the end 😂😂and remebr your glass if half fullat all times
My neighbouring farmer has left 3 inches of mud over my road this week after getting the forage in. He attempted a clean up with a bucket on a loader, but being crowned, all he did was make a mess and put a big groove in my tarmac drive. I thought to myself that PX wouldn’t behave like that. I’ve had to make my own warning signs for the traffic. 😮💨
Great video showing how we are all struggling with drilling. Keep it up. It will dry up at some point 😅. Can I ask why you are favouring wheeled tractors over your crawlers for drilling. TIA, Simon
Another cracking video James. With regards to drills if you could get something like a 12 meter vaderstad rapid that could fit within CTF would you have one? would it help prevent problems like your having as it combines the cultivation and seeding element? Keep the videos coming, really enjoyable and knowledgable.
Getting maize off in Somerset is starting to turn into a shit show! We’re getting rain most day and an inch at a time over 24 hours. It’s ridiculous. Keep plugging away that all we can do!
That is definitely an injection weight loss, but that isn’t a bad thing. As you know when you are a farmer you take every helping hand you can to get the job done
The problem with variable rate drilling is you never know the ideal seed rates you should use until a few weeks after you've drilled. Post drilling weather often determines yield and the seed rate may have been wrong for the weather conditions that follow.
The weather woes are going to continue be it autumn, winter, spring or summer. I guess like every other industry farming enterprises need to adapt and budgets will go out the window. Away from the weather potential taxing implications may be worse than the weather.
On wetter land when you are using the "wet drill" do you sometimes have a roller attachment on the back of the drill ? Thought I had seen others using them.
What a disappointment the MOG has been. In the early years they were bulletproof. My lads are really struggling to get the wheat in for their employer here in Kent; it’s an absolute swamp in places
Moggy hit barriers two years go coming off 14 Joining A 1 wrong tyres Should have soft tyres Struck the barriers moggies Don't like wet road Only mountains roads Not pulling loads on roads
An old saying about drilling wheat. Drunk or sober sow wheat in October. Your a humble man James still having a sense of humour when things go tits up. As with us all the struggle continues.
Humour, personality and technical farming insight. Keep it up James/PX!
A few high-vis jackets would be really useful for emergencies! Make sure to keep some in every vehicle. Greetings from Dundalk, Ireland!
And put hazard lights on Lowloader and Unimog!
Hard hat with flashing light on top too with a siren?
@@russellswann2450😂😂
And hazard lights?!
Chuck in some airhorns for a laugh 😂

You have a fantastic team to get the things done. It is always a difference between Steeringwheelholders and Operators.

@@mattharte7334 is the 4240 a new model?
James,if the farming doesn't work out I do think you could have a future in stand-up comedy.😅
I think you beat my challenge .no mention of "Black grass" Keep the videos coming very educational .
Always amazes me when I make a delivery on a quiet road it suddenly becomes an evacuation route. Another great video James 👍
Fascinating James watching and listening, oh and learning from you 👍👍 it’s like we’re stood right next to you on the videos , your humour, knowledge and patience’s rates you very high 👍🍻

The real " real countryfile" 👌👍

😂
😂😂😂
Your always first in told
Great show very knowledgeable, great humour, mind you anybody using the A1 corridor has to have a good sense of humour.
With a enthusiastic team you will get through, it wasn't that many years ago people started drilling in October, keep the banter going 😂
PX FARMS VERY PROFESSIONAL FARMER'S. 🤙 🦊
Superb video again James. At least you can still Laugh. Its the only way . All the best.
Really enjoy your video’s James. Great interesting content with added humour. It cheers up after days of rain. Keep your chin up on these wet days. Keep pushing on .

Nice to see some ground getting drilled, your doing well under the circumstances
Just shows when daily problems are running against you a cool calm head gets it shorted, you can do a pm after once the seed is in the ground. The trucker really needs pulling up and explaining himself. Top update your getting there.
Managed to get my wheat in the ground. Hoping it doesn't drown . Only a 'window box ' compared to the area you've got in front of you so good luck
Love the banter between you and Micheal about each others weight😂 we haven’t started drilling on our farm in Norfolk due to black grass.
I passed this going up the a1 at colsterworth just before it broke down
Old mates insight into oz farming makes me want to pack up and move. I still cant comprehend the land mass 😮
I think you're being a bit precious about damp leaves. The key is not a dry leaf, but a drying leaf. At 100 litres/ha, you're applying nothing. Get it on James.
Great video again 👌. Weather wise I feel your pain.
Hi James I always wanted a unimog after watching your video not so shore Thanks again
I drove one at Millbrook and preferred the Sprinter 4x4 dropside that we used to get around the site.
Nice video. I‘m a agribuisness student from the north of germany. We are experiencing the same wet conditions like you. When you were younger, could you imagine running a business like this ?
Ibbuts will get her sorted bloody good company. I used them most weeks
Feel your pain, James. Great video, as always. Cheers.
Great video as usual. I've been going drilling tomorrow for about a fortnight now and still haven't started! Every time it starts to dry up it rains again. 😮
Another insightful look into the world of the Chuckle Cousins.

Great video James I think it’s time for that unimog to go it’s starting to cost a lot of money 👍

James to cover yourself put the hazard lights on when you’ve broken down if the electrics still work
Most car drivers don’t look further than the end of the car bonnet!
Even more don’t look past the fly on the windscreen. 😂
Great video James
Keep up the grate work!

Try a mounted claydon drill for wet conditions they seem to work very well
Could you do a video of the AD plant where your straw is going
Another cracking video James. What's the latest you would drill before deciding on spring crop.75 mm rain today near cardiff. Ground absolutely saturated.
A James Peck theory: "I don`t think they can see"
Another great video james, just a thought 😂 maybe you pair should be on TV 🤣 cheers
That is definitely an injection weight loss, but that isn’t a bad thing. As you know when you are a farmer you take every helping hand you can to get the job done
I'm assuming the JCB fastack 8330 ICON is ordered???🤔😎
What an absolute mare of a season again. Time for a second wet weather drill?

On wetter land when you are using the "wet drill" do you sometimes have a roller attachment on the back of the drill ? Thought I had seen others using them.
Do your secondary cultivation after drilli😢ng
James. What happened to the Hazard Warning Lights on the Unimog & Lowloader trailer ???
Michaels truck was behind with them on
If you use a power harrow on ground with blackgrass, will it do the same as powerharrow on couch ground and spread the weed by chopping it?
Will you be able to roll behind the drills in those tacky conditions? I’d assume not in which case do you roll later or not at all?
What are the lorry’s doing now? Why aren’t they trucking the straw or are they ?
What width is the power harrow ? Surely not 12m to fit in with CTF
What a disappointment the MOG has been. In the early years they were bulletproof. My lads are really struggling to get the wheat in for their employer here in Kent; it’s an absolute swamp in places
I think you should diversify take up stand up comedy and be a double act with cousin Michael, be another income stream and not rained off! 😃
Moggy hit barriers two years go coming off 14
Joining A 1 wrong tyres
Should have soft tyres
Struck the barriers moggies
Don't like wet road
Only mountains roads
Not pulling loads on roads
That doesn’t look like a 12m bean drill what about the CTF ?
Multiples , 3, 6, 12, 24, 36
Don’t unimogs have hazard lights?
We had cones behind
unimog again oooooh NO!
fastrac to the rescuue
Haven’t seen Flynn for a while. Is he on house arrest??
tell michal your meant to put both feet on scales
Stick to Bedford 😊😊
what is wrong with the audio when u were talking from 6min
It would appear the newer unimogs are unreliable pieces of junk.
I don’t like your wheel marks after drilling
Tramlines are needed to apply chemicals and fertilisers. The frequency depends on the width of the sprayer. Ours are 36 mts.
