    Me again Trish. Oh I really hope this C5X does take off for Citroen especially in the U.K. It’s got to be the most comfortable car on the road, I’ll go far as to say even a Rolls Royce perhaps ? Maybe not but for the price comparison and my income I wouldn’t turn my nose up at this fantastic Citroen. Let’s hope it’s as reliable as it’s good looking in say 5 years or longer. Actually your video is now 2 years old and I’ve been looking at the price of a C5X and I’m very tempted to buy the 1.6 plug in hybrid version as there’s some low mileage bargains to be had. ❤

    I had a C5. It was a shame they stopped making it for the UK market as it wasn't very popular here. I can honestly say it was the best car I've ever had. I just wish this car came out last year before I bought my present car. When I'm ready to change I will definitely go for the C5X.

    I must say at first I was not sure but it has grown on me and it looks great in the white and black. I think it deserves to be a success and if Citroen price it right and advertise it right then it might be. I love your dress and jacket too and the belt as well. A lovely daytime look.

    Hi from Melbourne Australia. I have a Citroen C5 X7 Exclusive diesel which I bought new in 2014 and it's a brilliant car. It's done a lot of trouble free kilometers and I reluctantly feel as if I should be upgrading it because it's getting old but finding something as good and that suits me so well isn't easy. We can't buy big Citroen diesels in Australia anymore which is a pity and the air suspension is gone anyway but the C5X looks a really good substitute for what i have now and is evidently coming to Oz soon so I'll order one when it does. Good to see Citroen back in the game.

      I have a C5 X7 2013 with 163hp diesel, and recently did a test drive of new C5 Aircross 180hp diesel... My main observation was : C5 X7 is much softer and smoother in terms of suspension( Waiting for C5X to be available in Ukraine to compare the feeling.

    I like your enthusiastic and thorough reviews, as always! I must say I like the design. I hope Stellantis brings it to the US (with appropriate amendments for this market) because I think it aught to sell here. Really spacious inside and good looking. I like the PHEV tech and the "forward looking" suspension. The plug-in system has mileage enough for daily commutes and plug in overnight. . This brand has been missing from the US for decades, but the vehicle could be rebranded here. I do hope Stellantis gives it thought for the US market. (I love Barcelona! I was wondering where you were; definitely not Merri Olde England!)

    The suspension function that you highlighted as "new" for the Citroen is actually already in use on the new DS cars, for example in my DS7. It did sound like a kind of marketing change to the suspension at first, but it actually works incredibly good!

White with a blsck roof, though I've added roof bars and mud flaps (cannot understand why they're not on every vehicle - saves the paint work from chips and splashes - if someone buys a car without mud flaps - to me it means only one thing, tight cheap muppet)

Now I have driven 6000 km. Its advantages are comfort, ease of use, safety, and beauty. It is a pity that the 1.6TPH engine is not very energy efficient. Of course that doesn't stop me from driving it on a long trip with my family this year. I hope it will help you in your decision-making, the point of view from China

    How do you like the suspension setting overall of this car? Is there a big difference between ICE model and PHEV? How does it drive if compare with possible competitions like Volvo V60 and VW Arteon? Since this thing started selling in China in September last year, many Chinese media tested it and felt like the whole 'drivability' set up is not as good as expected since the suspension is too soft, so the car always wiggles around quited badly. Also the torsion bar rear suspension is a weak point on marketing wise. There are only ICE versions in China so the only suspension option is PHC rather than AMVAR that able to scan and change the firmness actively. So many Chinese customers are relying on the hope for the coming of AMVAR suspension that may get the driving experience better. Price is undeniably good however, starts roughly around 20k pounds in China.

    • @mirkozlikovski9553
      @mirkozlikovski9553 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the model she drove has a multilink rear suspension and not torsion beam... as for the AMVAR, they are very secretive about the type of active suspension they use... it most likely is something "magnetic based".

    • @johnbowie4869
      @johnbowie4869 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mirkozlikovski9553 the PHEV version has a multi link rear suspension? Whoa that’s surprising I didn’t know that, cause from some source of manufacture in China they say it’s torsion bar across all models? Do you have any sources of this suspension structure differentiation, I would love to see. In case of that, I guess the rear bridge is same as 508, so the c5x PHEV also uses that tube structured rear subframe?

    Just as a side note, the Adaptive Suspension featured on the C5X is something that the Stellantis group have had on a few of their models for a little while now. For example, the Peugeot 508's with their launch "First Edition" came with it as standard! That being said, still a great piece of tech :)

      @@Epicvillev90 No, only the electronics are similar, the suspension is unique to Citroen. This is the same suspension type that was used on the ZX Rallye Raid on the deserts back in the 90's and made it possible to Citroen have the world record of 250Km/h on sand and rocks by Ari Vatanen on the command. It has been under development since then.

    • @Epicvillev90
      @Epicvillev90 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jesuscger I feel like maybe my original comment wasn't clear. I'm talking specifically about the adaptive suspension, I.e. the system that constantly monitors conditions and makes small changes in the suspension behaviour as necessary, rather than the Progressive Hydraulic Cushion Suspension that you seem to be referencing.
      That being said, this same "Double-cushion" system being paired with the Adaptive side of things is already in use on some DS models.
      Aside from this, I believe this was developed for the C3 WRC car, which debuted in 2017, so I'm not sure about it being in developed in the 90's...

    I enjoyed your revue. Well done! I love the design but I'm still wondering why the hell all car manufacturers make their cars so heavy. Don't tell me it's the engine(s) and battey beceause, yes they are heavy, but why pack a car full of heavy gimmics that most people never use (and probably only notice a long time after having purchased the car). Weight is the enemy of low consumption weather it be in gallons or watts. I'm also puzzeled whith the reason why cars are bigger after each iteration. To my knowlegde humanity did't grow that much in size and at the same time, space on any road became a luxury. We humans are stupid.
    Please car makers, give us a car with the right adoption of technology and simplicity wherever technology is not needed. Luxury is not about having as much gimbals as possible. Luxury is how a car is made, the quality of assembly, the usage of materials that are not overly luxurious but are durable, look and feel good. Seats that are well designed to support the body as it should with only some passive confort solutions instead of again useless electronics that fail sooner or later. Technology is not measured by the load of this crap but by the clever adoption and the direct impact it has on consumption, polution...

    No mention of the missing essential rear wash wipe or a spare wheel!
    Why do these designer trendy car 'reviewers' nowadays, avoid mentioning the obvious?

    • @AutoSocialUK
      @AutoSocialUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because you really do not need a rear wiper on this car and most new cars unfortunately do not come with a spare wheel.

      Diesel bad, electric that weights more 50% of the car and doesn't use green energy to fuel batteries good

    No upgraded sound system and I'm guessing no independent rear suspension. That's a poor effort on a "panoramic sunroof" and as always with French ICE cars, no AWD option 👎

    • @DaveDVideoMaker

      It’s such a shame that the C5X doesn’t have AWD. Hell, all C5s before had FWD only.
      I still think the C5X is a bit better than the old C5, but I wouldn’t buy one cos it doesn’t have AWD.

    • @AutoSocialUK

    Diesel? Derv? For those that don’t know what Derv stands for it’s D-diesel E-engine R-road V-vehicle I don’t think the beautiful C5X comes with an option of a derv engine Trish….🫣
