Three great cars, the Mondeo is a great sleeper, the Rover is charming and the RS4 is awesome.
Video quality is still same from 10 years ago
The ST220 is a nice car. The sound of that V6 is fantastic reverberating off surrounding buildings. The way it holds the road, turns like it’s on rails, sharp steering. Things to look out for is rust, bottom end engine wear, water ingress.
The ST220s always over produced on power. Dynoed from new with between 230 and 235bhp standard. Still fun to drive and getting very thin on the ground now. Plus prices seem to be on the up. Good cars the ST220s

When we’re talking about two grand for front pads and rotors for the Audi, is that from a dealer or a qualified independent shop?
Here in the Colonies, owners of used Audis assiduously avoid the former, generally calling them ‘stealerships’. My A4 Quattro is maintained by a specialist Audi shop for about half of what the local main agent charges . . .
I thought dealerships had a bad rep here in the UK - that was until I started talking to Americans 😳😳 My god you guys detest them 😂😂

My Evo tax is £595, up from 585 last year. Combine that with fuel and maintenance and you're eating beans 3 times a day. Never talked about

15,000 pounds buys you an RS4 in the UK?!!! I was looking for one here in the US, you can't find one for cheaper than $35,000-$45,000 if they are in good condition and under 100k miles

The ST220 is still a handsome thing
I had the 2.5 V6 Duratech Mondeo and it was a total pain.

That Mondeo in Portugal is rare, and when they are for sale the price can get to 9.000 EUR.
repair prices are way out of range thats if you getting ripped off you inspect to pay any of that lol
Saab 9-5 Aero Hirsch (306hp, year 2009) or Saab 9-5 2.8T (296hp, year 2012).
How about jaguar X-type ? I have been watching used X-types, but I might buy a diesel because the petrol engine have a bad head gasket problems. And that diesel is VAG-based basically an Audi engine.

@@joriuschuwa strangely I think some of the ugliest cars of the 2000s have aged quite well. Especially the Jag X and S types. Kinda glad no one else thinks the same because it means I could pick an s type up for a grand nowadays.

The MG is rwd. Should be the most fun if set up correctly. Not sure how you would go about that with there being so few though.

That Rover might look good but I doubt it was made all that well and the V8 is weak. A remapped ST220 will produce a similar amount of power.

The Mondeo is a hand grenade! There's that well known transmission problem, which she pointed out, and the head is a time bomb after 120000km. I'd never get one.

the st220 is the best of the 3 there drives lovely and sounds great and is still cheap now to buy
And to think now they cost more than they did in 2014 and on the up.

The zt 260 is a beast, it handles well and has such a good v8 soundtrack.
Is it rear wheel drive though? I didn’t see a drive shaft when they had it on the lift?

No one who wants an RS6 is going to buy a MG, or an ST220. Not a chance. They are going to buy an S-line Audi if they cannot afford the RS car.

Because it’s an older Audi that’s a lot cheaper…
a 4.6 with only 250hp????? my A6 with a 3.2 had 265.. and I can guarantee the v6 ran 10x smoother and was far better built

Fantastic car. I’ve got an ST220 but if I had 15k I’d get the RS4 or an E46 M3.
I wouldn't touch that Audi, 15 mpg, terrible reliability.
What do you drive currently?
The only alternative is a BMW which is better anyway.
BMW E46 M3, Mazda 6 MPS, Alfa Romeo 159 3.2, and Vauxhall Vectra VXR.

@@DashCamSerbia 99% of Audi and Merc owners are not enthusiasts either,most are sheeple who blindly pay a premium for some sort of shallow status symbol. for what it's worth almost all of the Audi range for some years now is mind numbingly boring and dull to look at and drive and as some one who's spent over 30 plus years in the motor trade fixing them I can tell you that in terms of durability and reliability the Mondeo walks it against both Merc and Audi and BMW for that matter. in fact even knowing what a pile of snot they are I'd rather choose that MG,it's not pretty but it's better looking than that S4 and yes it might be crap but it's cheap,cheap and crap isn't great but it's always better than expensive and crap. Unreliable is one thing but allowing yourself to be mugged off for it as well for some unfounded badge snobbery is just plain daft.
The mondeo looks great. Always has. Its aged really well.

The audi is the only real contender here. The ford is nice but is on another league. 220bhp for the weight its really not suficient and FWD spoils the fun also. The MG could be an option but not even 300bhp from a 4.7L V8... we are way past that...
Have you driven an ST220?
I know a guy with a supercharged MGZT. More like 400 bhp from his car, and reliable too.
