Fun fact, since the message you saw on the wall "Death to the New Generation" is written in blood, the longer the case takes to solve the text becomes less and less recognisable due to the blood actually seeping down the wall. The game seems to reward you the most for not dawdling and actually simulates case leads "going cold". Its a really cool immersive sim.
What's great about it all being so procedural is that you're never spoiling anything, instead you're giving me extra case experience. Like real detectives that look over others work to gain insights and skills.
I started to avoid videos cause I didn’t really understand the procedural aspect of the game. Watched one and learned about the government data base that’s helped me with some cases. It’s an understatement to say I love this game
@@jaeusa160 It's entirely possible. I've seen businesses close in the game due to murders and arrests, so perhaps arrests set the character in a psudo-purgatory state, where they don't really exist, but can still be murdered. Spooky.
Sometimes the game bugs really bad; Day 5 I was running around wondering where all the people were. I'd see one or two on ocassion, but way less than there should be. Somewhere around Day 6 or 7, I ran across 90% of the population of my city just standing around a fire barrel on the corner of the street like they were all homeless people. Game righted itself after a day or 2, but I took the opportunity to go through all the high rise apartments to look for loot.
Not sure if you knew this, but on the security computers you can instead of turning them off, you can adjust their settings on the right. The setting “not player” means anyone except you will set it off. Useful as an early warning for you if you need to know if anyone is approaching.

That bullet casing you found by the elevator in City Hall couldn't have come from the killer, as they used a revolver (as stated by the newspaper) which does not eject the shell casings. Meaning it could have only come from the enforcer that shot you.

@@Rain_lights I don't think it's issue of performance of a board, I believe it's memory leaks that destroy ram and slow the game. Notice that even with big boards, when Insym reloads the game, all works fine.

I had a case yesterday, that when arriving to the scene the body cam back to life and helped me solve the murder, weirdest case Ive seen yet! Now I try to get to all the murder cases as soon as possible, just in case I miss a dead body running away xD
Not necessarily! I found a VERY suspicious "you match with Name Here> " on a victim's V-Mail and it correlated to an actual person! Better still he said he was "friends" with BOTH victims and last saw them at the buildings where the murder took place! ...Buuut he didn't turn out to be the killer after all, which was... Not great. XD This Stalker killer I'm tracking has gotten me to kick down more than one innocent person's doors and I'm really thinking I should never be a cop, lol.
I genuinely can't get enough of this game. Whether its you playing it or playing it for myself. This was an insane mission and it was really impressive that you managed to figure out the culprit in this battle of wits. I've had some spooky interactions myself in this game, like investigating a lead on a murder and going to speak to a friend of the deceased. The person telling me that someone was hired to assassinate them but their friend got roped into it and unfortunately died as a result. Once I finished speaking with them, I go to leave and see someone crouched nearby to me but facing away, like they were eavesdropping, and acting really suspicious as they start to leave when I walked towards them. I tried talking with them but they wouldn't tell me anything at the time. However later on after I did a bit more investigating it turned out they were the hitman that was hired. Kinda freaky since they were there to kill them and I inadvertently stopped it from happening apparently xD
One thing i noticed is you've been keeping your flashlight on all the time, I would suggest keeping it off because you are essentially disabling the stealth mechanic. You aren't seen by cameras in the dark with your flashlight off. You can tell when you aren't able to be seen by your aiming reticle turning hollow instead of solid.
im fairly certain that if you want to get rid of the bugs in your apartment, you need to purchase new floors, walls AND ceilings with the dirt slider all the way down, then save and reload
About the newspaper headline "claims another" I think that's an oversight, the game assumed you already know about the 1st murder. The killer already killed a person, but no one found the body. That's why it took so long for you to get a murder case.
Crime can happen anywhere, from inside a building to out on the streets from my experience. Had a case with a ritualistic blood circle in the middle of the street with a body on it. Case went cold but the same killer killed another and finally caught them. There's also a little exploit with the computers and it's helped me with those times where the notes are non-existent or in the safe. If the computer has 2+ profiles and you have the code of one of them, make it auto put the code into the profile you have the code for and right as the code turns green/about to complete switch over to the other profile you don't have the code for and it should log you into the one you selected. Then all you have to do is check the profile info for their code. Love the series so far!

I actually did have a case where the witnesses were wrong and or lied. The first vic I asked the neighbors about unusual stuff and they said a short, large person with LONG BLACK hair and glasses. The second vic complained about a bald guy stalking them that was tall and large witnesses said the same Turned out it was a mix, black short hair, no glasses, average height and large
You mentioned that you didn't know murders xan happen outside residences. In my city there was a murder at the park. The funny part is after the crime was solved, the body wasn't despawned. So now we have a local corpse hanging out at the park lol
would be awesome if you could confront killers with evidence you collected, for example, say you found their fingerprints at the crime scene and they start defending themselves or in rare cases start fighting you or running away if they are guilty.
This was obviously a game mechanic, but imaging finding a news paper article on the murder scene explicitly depicting the murder that had just happened two hours ago...
Insym you helped my solve a case that I thought was impossible. So I had someone killed in the back room of a drug store. No security footage, which I use all the time, the description didn't match anyone in the address book or any coworkers. No motives. I had a syringe and a fingerprint so I originally thought this would be easy but I couldn't match the fingerprint to anyone. I checked the sales ledger and the last entry was on the 2nd but my game was on the 6th. It was a nightmare. But I was playing while listening to the videos of you playing and you started talking about who sells toy cars. I smacked myself in the head so fast because I realized I never checked any other stores for people buying syringes or poison. I literally found the person at the first store I checked. So thanks for unintentionally helping me solve my case. Turns out it was just some random woman living on the 15th floor of a building 2 down from her. It was like she just picked a random target and just murdered.
They should add a mechanic where you could possibly be framed for a murder then u have to track down who framed up and clear ur name all while being on the run from the cops
The cliffhanger you gave at the end of the last video got me more pumped for the next episode than any cliffhanger I'd ever seen on a TV show. Can't wait to watch this!
Give us mooooooore!!! 🤩 As for the bugs, it seemed to me that when you changed the floor for the clear carpet, the bug that was already there stayed for a moment and then vanished, while the other bugs were on the other floor types, so I think you have to change all of them to get rid of the insects. Been playing alongside you @Insym and boy howdy I think your city generation has a hint of insanity in it because it's funny how you mention about tailing a known killer to see what they do. I had a guy kill with a shotgun, had him dead to rights on everything but forgot to grab handcuffs, so just as I decide to run to city hall to grab some, I bump into the guy running around like a shady guy. Distracted by him, I forget the handcuffs and follow, only to literally see him pick the lock of a door and then the sound of a shotgun blast followed by the murder reported announcement. That's when I decided to run in and see what the hell happened....which is when things actually went insane. Turned out the guy was knocked out by someone, so I thought the original killer had died...no turns out, he blasted a poor soul in the bathroom and the victim's partner knocked out the killer. A minute later, the killer wakes up and tries shooting me, which by the way Ballistic armour will save your life. After that I knocked him out, grabbed handcuffs and handed him in for the original murder....unfortunately because I filled in the original murder case first, I couldn't grab the new murder case he created, so it just vanished but I guess that would make sense if you caught the person who did the 2 murders. Anyway, loving this game and your vids
25:30 Well, to be fair. You were pretty fast at the crime scene but also ran away again. Then you completed another case that said to wait for results, meaning time would pass. That makes the crime scene not a fresh one. For a private detective that's basically making everything harder.
This playthrough is so good, it inspired me to start my own. A little thing I have picked up is that instead of dashing around trying to dodge cameras, you can turn off the lights and your torch and they won't be able to see you!
I think the body was undiscovered because 08:00 in my experience is the time of day for reset, when shifts end and when new newspapers are printed etc. So maybe the body was despawned right as it happened. the newspaper is supposed to be a fallback in case you miss the body or new players don't know how to trespass without getting caught. So having the newspaper available so quick after murder happened seems like the game thought the player was too late?
i had murders happen in businesses too, not just apartments, also I got threatend to hand over money, didnt do it and he wanted to kill me, lost me without me even moving away kekw And I had a weird case where it looked like the victim killed themselves, their own fingerprints on the threat ID cards and murder weapon
I think it would be fun if the citizens store a relationship value where they are more likely to help and give information if you’ve helped them in the past and less likely if you’ve slighted them (like beating them up lol). Right now they don’t seem to mind being beaten unconscious…
I didn’t have a murder case for ages like you, and when i eventually got one, i basicly solved it instantly with a missclick lol. I was gonna ask a vendor for something unrelated and clicked on «have you seen or heard anything» by mistake. The murder hasn’t happened yet. But they answer that they did, that they had long blonde hair hair and was drunk. One second later i get murder notification. Run to the place and while in the elevator i spot an NPC on their way downstairs saying «Everything is spinning» so i just yeet the elevator to the ground floor and wait. 3 seconds later a drunk woman with long blonde hair hair comes down. I manage to get the name and what she looks like and that’s it, basicly 80% profile already. After that i note her name, let her go, and treat the case as normal. 5 min later i got everything to find and arrest her lol. If it wasn’t for that missclick i would have never cared for the drunk girl in the stairs and would have spent way longer to find a name and person.
This game is such a clever concept and surprisingly well done. If I was a PC gamer i'd already own it. Really hoping for a console release one day.. The Devs are onto a winner here, a bit of time/ a few updates here & there & the potential of this game is crazy- think a few more linear elements in the background similar to Minecrafts elder dragon/endgame being added into it like a Crime boss to encounter you have to meet some criteria etc...

I've been loving watching these. I've been working on my own criminal mastermind case and have essentially zero leads after two murders and multiple in-game days but it's so fun

I was not actually sure how to fix the bugs in the apartment, I'd only seen another youtuber do it and assumed it was a checkbox near the dirt slider. Oh I can confirm that the fall damage negation won’t lock you. I just fell through the road today on my first trek to the city hall. When you fall through it teleports you back up but there is a floor down there and then you die from the fall damage after you’re already out lmao

My most fun murder case was also bugged with no calling card. Had a prime suspect that turned out to be the killer, but the calling card must have clipped on the first kill, when I saw the lipstick at the 2nd murder (Which overlooked the first as well as the perps street stall), I knew instantly, but it was kind of a let down.

Alright, you NEED to know, that if the circle in the middle of the screen is hollow, that means you aren’t visible to both people and cameras, but when you sprint, you become visible. Makes breaking into places with cameras a lot easier if you just turn off the lights and take your time moving.
The upgrade thst prevents fall damage is awesome. Being able to break and jump out windows makes for highly useful escape routes. You are right sbout glitches though. I had it bug out and force a reload at least twice during my first playthrough.
I was lowkey hoping for this one to turn into a serial killer just to see what would happen, seriously great regardless though. This game is awesome i cant wait to see how it develops
Just wanted to point out, in case you were unaware.. you don't have to open the menu and save every time (unless you want a hard save) -- You can press F5 to do a quick save.
2:09 - End of fourth episode save. Caught in 4k!!! 😂 Loving these videos. If you want some stories that happened to me in your seed - Someone got killed right beside city hall. I ran there as fast as I could but police was there before me (duh) and it was raining. I found fingerprints on 1 toy car but that was it. No murder motive, no note, no nothing. I searched the persons workplace, nothing. I searched their apartment, nothing. I searched any clues about suspicious people, nothing. I had to buy a newspaper to see that "apparently" the killer had written something on the wall, which was not visible at all for some reason. I still haven't solved this murder, since all my clues went to dead-ends 😅
1:45:39 I actually had my first case go like that. the only thing that would be left behind was a finger print or two. If i knew how cameras worked and how you could find black market gun dealers in the basement, this case could have been easier. After the third victim, the killer left behind a crumbled paper on a counter with something that said "would you like to play a game?" and it had something like V.____R__ in it with a bunch of letters above it to fill in the blanks. first thing i did was look for someone with a name starting with V in the address book, and there was only one name. Finally found the face to match the prints.
I just got a murder case that the man just dead, with no other fingerprint, dead by shot and finished by knife but no knife or ammo around the apartment, no stranger fingerprint or footprint around the apartment, and a note-like clue but with the decease fingerprint all over. I don't really like security cameras so I just pass that case.
I bought this game because you looked like you were having fun! My 1st real case was a serial killer called the 'Ritual Reaper', but it took place outdoors with NO fingerprints, NO murder weapon, just a body in a bloody circle and stab wounds. I searched all the victim's contacts with no success, and the killer ended up taking 2 more victims, all with no apparent links EXCEPT the building they lived in. Problem was, how do you find someone like that? I found a print and shoe marks in the 2nd crime scene, but still couldn't find its owner anywhere as I was following the wrong lead. On the third and final victim, I found a crumpled paper ball with the killer playing a 'game' and basically gave me their name. It was only then that I realized the identity and managed to arrest them. So a killer doesn't have to be someone known to the victims, they can just be living in the same building. Which means a LOT of print-hunting... Also, in my game... Luna is the one everyone keeps matching with. Must be the town bicycle ifyaknowwhatimean.
What I found funny is that my first murder case and my second murder case are the in the same family. They were killed by different person for a different reason, but they died only 2 in-game days time apart. Since I haven't closed the case, I just re-pinned all the address book, etc to the new case.
2:11:31 The suspect doesnt work on saturdays which is probably why they were at city hall, also suspects do not always have alibis or motives for killing, some just feel like the stabby stabby sometimes or in this case shooty shooty, also keys can be found in plants as well as under welcome mats
It's a shame they haven't implemented a motive system in the game. I hope that changes in future updates. Maybe even make it one of the optional objectives to complete a case.
Insym, since you have so much inventory space, you should consider carrying a knife with you, they 1-2 shot knock people out. You can't murder anyone however, so don't worry. Oh, by the way, I had a murder case where it took me so long to find the culprit, they killed someone else just as I located their house. I cuffed them returning from the murder. Also also, you don't have the trespasser Sync Disk, and it's so good!

once i got a case where the killer was the person who gave me the lead so i didnt got his fingerprints and it took me so long to understand that he could also be it and when i found out and got his fingerprints he shot me to dead.
Waiting to get this game once more updates for it are out. One interesting mechanic I'd like to see is an alibi mechanic/lying mechanic. Suspects can lie about seeing/not seeing the victim and we'd have to go around and confirm alibi and statements etc.
Since this game tosses a lot of Chinese names out. Q is a Ch sound (Qiu would probably be Chu verbally) and X is an Sh sound usually. This game's fun until you get stuck in a wall because of vent vents.
25:153:00:00 No sorry he did kill someone else before, but you never got the case and the first victim was never found. This is why there was a long silence, no one found the first body. The developer warns that if it seems like there has been no murder, then that means a body has not been discovered. You only get a case when a dead body is *discovered*, hence why you never got a murder case. Reloading the game does nothing to murders, people have had the same murder happen despite reloads.
It depends when the murder is generated. When you save just before that generation you get a different murder since it's using rng and it's always different.
They need to add bullets that can be analysed to match to a gun. And Blood sampling, like the fingerprints but with DNA, so blades can be analysed to find traces. Also gunpowder residue on perp's hands that give an estimate of when they last fired a weapon.
After the last video, I can't wait to get stuck into this one with you! There is no shadow of a doubt that this is one of the best series you've ever done thank you for pumping out the content, Insym!
What an interesting case! I've had one that was outside on the street where there actually was no calling card at all and it took me forever. The only thing at the crime scene was a business card with the victim's print on it. Not sure if that one was just bugged or intentional, but it made it very hard to find the murderer. Iirc it was the partner of one of her coworkers in the end. Also, ikebana is the japanese art of flower arranging!
I think they would have for sure committed a second murder in the time it took you to solve it (in my case they murdered again in like 8 hours or so) but what happened is that they got stuck doing the light thing at the end that you saw so they never left to commit the second murder.
The coolest thing I've encountered was that I had a murder case when I was starting out in this game. I caught the killer's fingerprints but couldn't catch any leads on who I was looking for since I didn't know some tricks in the game. In a effort to find the suspect, I was trying to dabble in the security cam footage which led me to the basement of a building. In a act of randomness I scanned the doors of the basement and spotted the fingerprint of my would-be suspect thinking I found the murderer. Only to be surprised that I stumbled upon the killer's third kill which wasn't even reported in yet. I arrived literally around 3 minutes of in game after they had slain this person, then when I got to the security camera I had finally caught the crook's face. Then no one knew who she was!!! So I was just having to go on a hunt for this killer before they kill again! It was the craziest case ever.
A lil tip but when you walk into city hall to your right is a door with all the security cameras of each floor landing and you can shut them off you can also get access to the gov database from there
Definitely an epic journey there and the mistakes of suspecting the wrong person for half the investigation made it just much more exciting to watch^^ I can imagine something like that only getting better with future patches.

A little trick I use for the passcodes is checking it in the profile on the computer, then logging them out, and logging them back in. This then confirms you know the passcode so you automatically fill it in in the future.

I think maybe the bugs (the insects, not the glitches) just take a moment to disappear, because it seemed like they were constant, but then after you replaced the carpet with clean carpet they disappeared from the living room as soon as the remaining bug went under something. Though if I'm right you'll probably still need to repeat the same thing in the other rooms.
I had the same/similar mission yesterday and even though my body didn't glitch out (and it was in a dif business and building landing) it took me hours before i called it for the night lol. I went ham following their phone calls as it was the only leads I had, I'm watching how you approach this to get clues as to how to approach my mission lol. I'll have to find the gun shop I think. My victim was carrying a gun that matched the murder weapon, so it might be self-icide ... I'm not ruling it out with some of the curve balls this game has thrown me haha.

I love using the security doors to lock people out of the floor I'm working. It also stops people escaping too mwahahaha!

The person telling me that someone was hired to assassinate them but their friend got roped into it and unfortunately died as a result. Once I finished speaking with them, I go to leave and see someone crouched nearby to me but facing away, like they were eavesdropping, and acting really suspicious as they start to leave when I walked towards them. I tried talking with them but they wouldn't tell me anything at the time. However later on after I did a bit more investigating it turned out they were the hitman that was hired. Kinda freaky since they were there to kill them and I inadvertently stopped it from happening apparently xD
what difficulty are you on?
One thing i noticed is you've been keeping your flashlight on all the time, I would suggest keeping it off because you are essentially disabling the stealth mechanic. You aren't seen by cameras in the dark with your flashlight off. You can tell when you aren't able to be seen by your aiming reticle turning hollow instead of solid.
I thought the one with lasers have night vision?

im fairly certain that if you want to get rid of the bugs in your apartment, you need to purchase new floors, walls AND ceilings with the dirt slider all the way down, then save and reload
About the newspaper headline "claims another" I think that's an oversight, the game assumed you already know about the 1st murder. The killer already killed a person, but no one found the body. That's why it took so long for you to get a murder case.
Crime can happen anywhere, from inside a building to out on the streets from my experience. Had a case with a ritualistic blood circle in the middle of the street with a body on it. Case went cold but the same killer killed another and finally caught them. There's also a little exploit with the computers and it's helped me with those times where the notes are non-existent or in the safe. If the computer has 2+ profiles and you have the code of one of them, make it auto put the code into the profile you have the code for and right as the code turns green/about to complete switch over to the other profile you don't have the code for and it should log you into the one you selected. Then all you have to do is check the profile info for their code. Love the series so far!
If they ever fix that there should be some "old model" computers that it still can work on.
@@youtubeuniversity3638 The problem is this isn't a bug in the computer. It's a bug in the "fourth wall" since the autocomplete is just your character typing.
I actually did have a case where the witnesses were wrong and or lied.
The first vic I asked the neighbors about unusual stuff and they said a short, large person with LONG BLACK hair and glasses.
The second vic complained about a bald guy stalking them that was tall and large witnesses said the same
Turned out it was a mix, black short hair, no glasses, average height and large
You mentioned that you didn't know murders xan happen outside residences. In my city there was a murder at the park. The funny part is after the crime was solved, the body wasn't despawned. So now we have a local corpse hanging out at the park lol
would be awesome if you could confront killers with evidence you collected, for example, say you found their fingerprints at the crime scene and they start defending themselves or in rare cases start fighting you or running away if they are guilty.
That would be super cool!
This was obviously a game mechanic, but imaging finding a news paper article on the murder scene explicitly depicting the murder that had just happened two hours ago...

Insym you helped my solve a case that I thought was impossible. So I had someone killed in the back room of a drug store. No security footage, which I use all the time, the description didn't match anyone in the address book or any coworkers. No motives. I had a syringe and a fingerprint so I originally thought this would be easy but I couldn't match the fingerprint to anyone. I checked the sales ledger and the last entry was on the 2nd but my game was on the 6th. It was a nightmare. But I was playing while listening to the videos of you playing and you started talking about who sells toy cars. I smacked myself in the head so fast because I realized I never checked any other stores for people buying syringes or poison. I literally found the person at the first store I checked. So thanks for unintentionally helping me solve my case. Turns out it was just some random woman living on the 15th floor of a building 2 down from her. It was like she just picked a random target and just murdered.

As for the bugs, it seemed to me that when you changed the floor for the clear carpet, the bug that was already there stayed for a moment and then vanished, while the other bugs were on the other floor types, so I think you have to change all of them to get rid of the insects.

Been playing alongside you @Insym and boy howdy I think your city generation has a hint of insanity in it because it's funny how you mention about tailing a known killer to see what they do. I had a guy kill with a shotgun, had him dead to rights on everything but forgot to grab handcuffs, so just as I decide to run to city hall to grab some, I bump into the guy running around like a shady guy. Distracted by him, I forget the handcuffs and follow, only to literally see him pick the lock of a door and then the sound of a shotgun blast followed by the murder reported announcement.
That's when I decided to run in and see what the hell happened....which is when things actually went insane. Turned out the guy was knocked out by someone, so I thought the original killer had died...no turns out, he blasted a poor soul in the bathroom and the victim's partner knocked out the killer. A minute later, the killer wakes up and tries shooting me, which by the way Ballistic armour will save your life. After that I knocked him out, grabbed handcuffs and handed him in for the original murder....unfortunately because I filled in the original murder case first, I couldn't grab the new murder case he created, so it just vanished but I guess that would make sense if you caught the person who did the 2 murders.

25:30 Well, to be fair. You were pretty fast at the crime scene but also ran away again. Then you completed another case that said to wait for results, meaning time would pass. That makes the crime scene not a fresh one. For a private detective that's basically making everything harder.
This playthrough is so good, it inspired me to start my own. A little thing I have picked up is that instead of dashing around trying to dodge cameras, you can turn off the lights and your torch and they won't be able to see you!
I think the body was undiscovered because 08:00 in my experience is the time of day for reset, when shifts end and when new newspapers are printed etc. So maybe the body was despawned right as it happened. the newspaper is supposed to be a fallback in case you miss the body or new players don't know how to trespass without getting caught. So having the newspaper available so quick after murder happened seems like the game thought the player was too late?
i had murders happen in businesses too, not just apartments, also I got threatend to hand over money, didnt do it and he wanted to kill me, lost me without me even moving away kekw
And I had a weird case where it looked like the victim killed themselves, their own fingerprints on the threat ID cards and murder weapon
I just had one where the spouse of the dead person had fingerprints on the ejected ammo, and the calling card. It turned out to be a coworker.

I think it would be fun if the citizens store a relationship value where they are more likely to help and give information if you’ve helped them in the past and less likely if you’ve slighted them (like beating them up lol). Right now they don’t seem to mind being beaten unconscious…
I didn’t have a murder case for ages like you, and when i eventually got one, i basicly solved it instantly with a missclick lol. I was gonna ask a vendor for something unrelated and clicked on «have you seen or heard anything» by mistake. The murder hasn’t happened yet. But they answer that they did, that they had long blonde hair hair and was drunk. One second later i get murder notification. Run to the place and while in the elevator i spot an NPC on their way downstairs saying «Everything is spinning» so i just yeet the elevator to the ground floor and wait. 3 seconds later a drunk woman with long blonde hair hair comes down. I manage to get the name and what she looks like and that’s it, basicly 80% profile already. After that i note her name, let her go, and treat the case as normal. 5 min later i got everything to find and arrest her lol. If it wasn’t for that missclick i would have never cared for the drunk girl in the stairs and would have spent way longer to find a name and person.
This game is such a clever concept and surprisingly well done. If I was a PC gamer i'd already own it. Really hoping for a console release one day.. The Devs are onto a winner here, a bit of time/ a few updates here & there & the potential of this game is crazy- think a few more linear elements in the background similar to Minecrafts elder dragon/endgame being added into it like a Crime boss to encounter you have to meet some criteria etc...
I had a case where the perp wanted me to vandalize his own house. Walked outside the door and slipped the completed case through the bottom.

I've been loving watching these. I've been working on my own criminal mastermind case and have essentially zero leads after two murders and multiple in-game days but it's so fun

I was not actually sure how to fix the bugs in the apartment, I'd only seen another youtuber do it and assumed it was a checkbox near the dirt slider. Oh I can confirm that the fall damage negation won’t lock you. I just fell through the road today on my first trek to the city hall. When you fall through it teleports you back up but there is a floor down there and then you die from the fall damage after you’re already out lmao
Trying to find a person playing this game with some case board organization and familiarity with the mechanics is what brought me to your channel. The time you take to make pretty case boards is VERY much appreciated
My most fun murder case was also bugged with no calling card. Had a prime suspect that turned out to be the killer, but the calling card must have clipped on the first kill, when I saw the lipstick at the 2nd murder (Which overlooked the first as well as the perps street stall), I knew instantly, but it was kind of a let down.

Alright, you NEED to know, that if the circle in the middle of the screen is hollow, that means you aren’t visible to both people and cameras, but when you sprint, you become visible. Makes breaking into places with cameras a lot easier if you just turn off the lights and take your time moving.
The upgrade thst prevents fall damage is awesome. Being able to break and jump out windows makes for highly useful escape routes.
You are right sbout glitches though. I had it bug out and force a reload at least twice during my first playthrough.

Just wanted to point out, in case you were unaware.. you don't have to open the menu and save every time (unless you want a hard save) -- You can press F5 to do a quick save.

Loving these videos. If you want some stories that happened to me in your seed - Someone got killed right beside city hall. I ran there as fast as I could but police was there before me (duh) and it was raining. I found fingerprints on 1 toy car but that was it. No murder motive, no note, no nothing. I searched the persons workplace, nothing. I searched their apartment, nothing. I searched any clues about suspicious people, nothing. I had to buy a newspaper to see that "apparently" the killer had written something on the wall, which was not visible at all for some reason. I still haven't solved this murder, since all my clues went to dead-ends 😅
1:45:39 I actually had my first case go like that. the only thing that would be left behind was a finger print or two. If i knew how cameras worked and how you could find black market gun dealers in the basement, this case could have been easier. After the third victim, the killer left behind a crumbled paper on a counter with something that said "would you like to play a game?" and it had something like V.____R__ in it with a bunch of letters above it to fill in the blanks. first thing i did was look for someone with a name starting with V in the address book, and there was only one name. Finally found the face to match the prints.
Well, he was a retired killer. So of course he's out killing again. That's why the paper said that.
I just got a murder case that the man just dead, with no other fingerprint, dead by shot and finished by knife but no knife or ammo around the apartment, no stranger fingerprint or footprint around the apartment, and a note-like clue but with the decease fingerprint all over. I don't really like security cameras so I just pass that case.
I bought this game because you looked like you were having fun! My 1st real case was a serial killer called the 'Ritual Reaper', but it took place outdoors with NO fingerprints, NO murder weapon, just a body in a bloody circle and stab wounds. I searched all the victim's contacts with no success, and the killer ended up taking 2 more victims, all with no apparent links EXCEPT the building they lived in.
Problem was, how do you find someone like that?
I found a print and shoe marks in the 2nd crime scene, but still couldn't find its owner anywhere as I was following the wrong lead. On the third and final victim, I found a crumpled paper ball with the killer playing a 'game' and basically gave me their name. It was only then that I realized the identity and managed to arrest them.
So a killer doesn't have to be someone known to the victims, they can just be living in the same building. Which means a LOT of print-hunting...
Also, in my game... Luna is the one everyone keeps matching with. Must be the town bicycle ifyaknowwhatimean.
This game reminds me of Papers Please, but way more intricate and instead of border patrol you're a PI.
What I found funny is that my first murder case and my second murder case are the in the same family. They were killed by different person for a different reason, but they died only 2 in-game days time apart. Since I haven't closed the case, I just re-pinned all the address book, etc to the new case.
2:11:31 The suspect doesnt work on saturdays which is probably why they were at city hall, also suspects do not always have alibis or motives for killing, some just feel like the stabby stabby sometimes or in this case shooty shooty, also keys can be found in plants as well as under welcome mats
You don't need motives to kill someone on this game apparently, so no need to sweat yourself looking for the motives
Even if, what's a motive to a smoking gun?
It's a shame they haven't implemented a motive system in the game. I hope that changes in future updates. Maybe even make it one of the optional objectives to complete a case.

Insym, since you have so much inventory space, you should consider carrying a knife with you, they 1-2 shot knock people out. You can't murder anyone however, so don't worry.
Oh, by the way, I had a murder case where it took me so long to find the culprit, they killed someone else just as I located their house. I cuffed them returning from the murder.

One interesting mechanic I'd like to see is an alibi mechanic/lying mechanic. Suspects can lie about seeing/not seeing the victim and we'd have to go around and confirm alibi and statements etc.

Since this game tosses a lot of Chinese names out. Q is a Ch sound (Qiu would probably be Chu verbally) and X is an Sh sound usually. This game's fun until you get stuck in a wall because of vent vents.

No sorry he did kill someone else before, but you never got the case and the first victim was never found.
This is why there was a long silence, no one found the first body.
The developer warns that if it seems like there has been no murder, then that means a body has not been discovered.
You only get a case when a dead body is *discovered*, hence why you never got a murder case.
Reloading the game does nothing to murders, people have had the same murder happen despite reloads.
It depends when the murder is generated. When you save just before that generation you get a different murder since it's using rng and it's always different.

They need to add bullets that can be analysed to match to a gun. And Blood sampling, like the fingerprints but with DNA, so blades can be analysed to find traces. Also gunpowder residue on perp's hands that give an estimate of when they last fired a weapon.

What an interesting case! I've had one that was outside on the street where there actually was no calling card at all and it took me forever. The only thing at the crime scene was a business card with the victim's print on it. Not sure if that one was just bugged or intentional, but it made it very hard to find the murderer. Iirc it was the partner of one of her coworkers in the end.

I think they would have for sure committed a second murder in the time it took you to solve it (in my case they murdered again in like 8 hours or so) but what happened is that they got stuck doing the light thing at the end that you saw so they never left to commit the second murder.

The coolest thing I've encountered was that I had a murder case when I was starting out in this game. I caught the killer's fingerprints but couldn't catch any leads on who I was looking for since I didn't know some tricks in the game. In a effort to find the suspect, I was trying to dabble in the security cam footage which led me to the basement of a building. In a act of randomness I scanned the doors of the basement and spotted the fingerprint of my would-be suspect thinking I found the murderer. Only to be surprised that I stumbled upon the killer's third kill which wasn't even reported in yet. I arrived literally around 3 minutes of in game after they had slain this person, then when I got to the security camera I had finally caught the crook's face. Then no one knew who she was!!!
So I was just having to go on a hunt for this killer before they kill again! It was the craziest case ever.
A lil tip but when you walk into city hall to your right is a door with all the security cameras of each floor landing and you can shut them off you can also get access to the gov database from there
Definitely an epic journey there and the mistakes of suspecting the wrong person for half the investigation made it just much more exciting to watch^^ I can imagine something like that only getting better with future patches.

A little trick I use for the passcodes is checking it in the profile on the computer, then logging them out, and logging them back in. This then confirms you know the passcode so you automatically fill it in in the future.
Since there's no way we can't archive cases yet. I always create 1 blank cases so I can store every citizens information.

I think maybe the bugs (the insects, not the glitches) just take a moment to disappear, because it seemed like they were constant, but then after you replaced the carpet with clean carpet they disappeared from the living room as soon as the remaining bug went under something. Though if I'm right you'll probably still need to repeat the same thing in the other rooms.
I had the same/similar mission yesterday and even though my body didn't glitch out (and it was in a dif business and building landing) it took me hours before i called it for the night lol. I went ham following their phone calls as it was the only leads I had, I'm watching how you approach this to get clues as to how to approach my mission lol. I'll have to find the gun shop I think. My victim was carrying a gun that matched the murder weapon, so it might be self-icide ... I'm not ruling it out with some of the curve balls this game has thrown me haha.
