Always use k5prog to flash not a browser and ALWAYS BACKUP your radio config files first prior to flashing ANY device to recover from potential bricking of that device. ALSO RESET ALL from the menu after ANY flash to remove old firmware settings that may cause a bug.
OK so I'm doing the same, all works good until around 25~35% of flashing progress then I get a windows error message 'Stop code: WDF VIOLATION' and below that 'what failed: ser2pl64.sys' and the computer says it needs to restart. At this point the radio (after unplugging) doesn't turn on and appears bricked. I've tried several times and the progress always stops around the same point. Anyone got any ideas?!
Update: ok so I managed to get everything sorted but I'm not sure which of the following 2 things made the difference as I didnt test one at a time: 1. I used google Chrome instead of Edge and 2. I pushed the Baofeng plug into the radio so hard during upload that I nearly broke my fingers. I'm not massively sceptical of the lead because it pushed home nicely previously and the moulding around the edges of the plug doesnt contact anywhere on the K5(8)/6 recess but who knows. It worked and I'm happy! The egzumer firmware is brilliant, so much adjustment. Just ordered a genuine Nagoya 771 to go with it :)
Good info on this video.
Thanks for watching 😊
always makes me wonder why people install an out of date unsupported firmware :P :P

Will this work on the UV-K6?
@@richsilvasatx Yes it will.

I use dollars because it's recognized more globally, but the concept applies regardless of currency. Thanks for watching!
