Love your content, and your willingness to share your knowledge. Please don’t hate me.
wow Zeth it's great to see how they solve problems with the right tools. Especially the optimization of the time after the client calls you for the service. I'm from Uruguay and I've been watching your videos for a long time Genius!!
The technology these days is just amazing!!.. Another great video Zeth.. Thanks for taking us along with you.. And thank you to Sloan Implement for allowing you to film all this content.. It's really enjoyable..🚜🚜
Wow! Love your videos and your thorough, precise approach to diagnosing and repairing the various John Deere Tractor issues. Wish there were more skilled and dedicated mechanics such as yourself!
You certainly ain't no dummy and that farmer didn't fall far from that tree either. Both of you guys are extremely educated in farming. Whether it's wrenching or planting.... Impressed!
amazing video, I remember when we went from a John Deere 290 planter (2 row) to a John Deere 490 planter ( 4 row) my father thought he was really something.
Fantastic video which shows the technology working! These tractors are enormously complicated because of all the things they have connected to them. Yours is a demanding job and you do it very well. The other thing is that you have shown people how food is made and what goes into making it on a big scale. Most people have no idea about what goes on out there on farms.
You have no idea how lucky your farmer is to have such good flat dirt. I have washes here that we have to turn around some years. We have red dirt and clods, rocks and trees.
I guess my question is why would the ecu fail. JD used to make robust equipment. I cant help thinking that putting an ecu in the harshest environment on the tractor, heat, dust, vibration, moisture and temp variations is simply dumb. Theses ecu;s need to take advantage of all the cabin features and install them in a compartment easily accessed in the cabin.
Dang that was a great video. I think I understood more about what was going on than ever before. That sure adds to my enjoyment of the videos. Thank you BOTH!! Jim.
John Deere seams to have a lot of problems with ECU's. I have a 6534 that needs new ECU. For some reason John Deere put it on a top of the engine right by the muffler....lots of heat, dust and vibrations there. And it is not force cooled by fuel, not even air. It also has about 7000hrs and it is 2011.....not happy.
Amazing technology I guess the farmers Ascada stay on top to make money I’m a captain for ADM. I move Adm‘s grain from St. Louis Missouri to the golf. Some of our other boats sprains from St. Paul Minnesota down to St. Louis. I was a chief engineer on the boat for 14 years before I become a captain out here, not sure enjoy watching videos. I have a machine shop in Paris Tennessee. I’ll work on my spare time West Tennessee pretty big on agriculture.
"Next problem" I may have to borrow that one...lol. Seems like a cool guy. Nice to have good customers. Thanks for the video Don't sell yourself short. It's called an "Educated guess"
Never understood the concept of the big 8 series, with 2xx something hp. In the 6 and 7 series 2xx hp seems more logical. Is it because the weight has some kind of advantages?
I got a 8335RT that blows blue smoke out breather tube no actual oil though. And my hydraulics quit sometimes I have no idea. It had some problems with wiring harness when I forst got it. It’s no virgin has 7225 hours but a new guy has gotta make due
Amazing tractor compared to tractors of the pass. America farmed for years with steam but now we need $500,000 tractors. Not being negative but just thinking. Great mechanic , couldn't ask for better.
Bel video !!!!!! Quel pulsante sul montante sterzo cosa è ? La regolazione elettrica del piantone sterzo ? Zk il top !!!! Bel video ! Serve un video della durata dpf sui 8000 john Deere !!!! Uso additivi nel Diesel , pulizia egr o radiatore egr …..
So what if it were the injectors that failed? Did you take along three injectors as well? Perhaps there was some bad fuel and the injectors were clogged up. Or a wiring harness if there might have been a break in a wire or a bad connector? There could have multiple reasons for this issue.
800-1000 a year sounds expensive for a self driving tractor. However, growing up I would have killed for something like that. I remember when we upgraded to a 9200 and it had a little automation I was in hog heaven.
The content was very interesting, and it could have been fun to watch. But the music killed it. Wrong type of music for the subject material, and way too loud.
If the guy wasn't a cheapskate, and purchased extended service plan, it wouldn't have cost him a dime, now on the other hand you buy a piece of equipment new and the factory warranty runs out, and you have a failure, look in the mirror, and cry a river over $3000.00!!!

They do that to minimize the harness length between the ECU and the components in the engine. They try to put controllers close to what they operate.
Probably not made by John Deere. ECU could be made by several different suppliers over the years.
The tech married with mechanics in these tractors is awesome
change 2 red can, works 3 hours ,and slow down and few minutes speeds up! the technicians here have no idea what to do !!!Thanks for your teaches
Great video! Love the interaction with customer.
Dang, I'm still running a 6210 with the only electronic being a CB. But for my size farm it's all I want or need.
Diesel engines have had ECM/ECU for over 20 years. Now with all of the emissions and guidance stuff there are many more functions.
I love the conversation and the explanation of the equipment and process. I really had no clue what all was in involved! Great video.
Dang that was a great video. I think I understood more about what was going on than ever before. That sure adds to my enjoyment of the videos. Thank you BOTH!! Jim.

Nothing runs like a Deere, until it doesn’t which is pretty often nowadays… I‘ll keep to my Case and Claas tractors.
Oh my, a JD service call that involved free advertising for AGCO's Precision Planting. Who would have imagined!
I am speechless at the technology in a big green machine these dsys
Farmers are businessmen scientists computer scientists and above all hardworking folks

Does it consume excessive amounts of oil? Not sure about your hydraulics without more info.
I wonder how much the new ECU was ???

Can you tell me how to check code

I go up to Langdon North Dakota we’re my brother lives to help harvest. Been doing that for probably 30 years. JD stuff. About 6000 acres.

Absolutely fascinating video 👍 thanks

Hi bro how can I program ecu I’m trying too but have no idea
Dang, had no idea I could use my computer science/IT background to farm. Shit is advanced nowdays
I thought the cars are exciting the way they works, but i was wrong, tractors and big vehicles are more exciting.
-So yeah the ECU Iis getting abit too hot we need to cool it.
Ya no problem lets pour some diesel on it.

There could have multiple reasons for this issue.
No it's been a common ECU issue with these exact codes so I knew exactly what I needed. Bad fuel or injectors would have been different codes.

What camera are you using? Seemed to handle that wind noise well. Nice video.

How big is the shop you work in?
After replace ECU you not should injectors coding? In my opinion, injectors are remember in ECU.
That information is transferred during the reprogramming process.
Good job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

How did you like Larimer WY? I live south in Fort Collins CO?
I lived there in 06, and 07. Been to Fort Collins a bunch of times. Beautiful country!
Does the old ECU get fixed by anyone ?
Once the magic smoke goes out of a controller it's done lol
Hey man is there a part number for that jd deutsch terminal prob???
???
Yeah there’s numbers on each probe in that kit. Not sure what number that one was exactly.
Whats the kit number can ya buy from Jd?
I want some of those things in my tractor.
I know this is old, but a big mistake here simply ohm testing the wiring rather than load testing it.
