EQ into Vari Mu; In this case instead of going with the Manley (which I also adore) I went with the Thermionic Culture Phoenix. Lovely unit, very rich and hi-fi. Big low end extension, neutral mids, and slightly hyped up top end. Sowter xformers. As much as I love it - I still also would love to have a Manley on hand too, since the flavors are quite different. Phoenix is a bit more groovy in its action, but it has insane headroom. Love Manley for its box tone and the "warm hug" it imparts. Thanks for this!
Would love to see a comparison of that one versus the Pulsar one. Was in love with the UAD version since the Pulsar come in.
