John Beradino - AKA Steve Hardy - was known as the foundation of GH. A title greatly deserved. I believe that Anthony Geary - LUKE - is the “offspring” of that same foundation. Mr Geary has earned his retirement. But he is greatly missed. There will never be anyone that will ever come close to Tony Geary. He will always be an icon.
Yes I agree ...but so will Genie Francis/ Laura Spencer They made GH what it was back in the days. All of the characters helped to make GH where over 30 million fans enjoyed this 1# TV daytime soap opera. Yes they where both icons. I personally don’t know what went down? The downhill of GH is due JIMHO because of the writers who did not care for the characters/and actors who once graced this once day time TV soap opera that was #1. Now it seems to me it’s in total darkness’s maybe GH should go into retirement too. Sorry JIMHO. I will always love GH please never doubt that ever GH will also be deeply in my heart. Thank you Rosie

It would change every couple of years. But nothing I recall ever compared to Luke and Laura. I started watching GH when I saw them on the cover of NEWSWEEK magazine. I’ve never enjoyed any couple as much as Luke and Laura. All the planets aligned when Gloria Monty put all the right pieces together. Tony and Genie were magical. Daytime drama became the genre of classics!

Oh the days of soap love in the afternoon! I've been watching these for the last 2 days. The writers now don't honor the history with passion & drama like this. New writers are needed desperately! There'll never be another love like L+L ... it was magical!
Luke and Laura had such explosive chemistry. It evolved over time, like all relationships. But the clips of them at the very beginning of their relationship brought butterflies to my stomach. There was such magic there.
No the writers started doing that when they pulled the whole Laura had a child she left behind crap!!! Such crap that she would come back and not tell Luke about her son, she would have told him right away, and they would have gone on that adventure to find her son. As for pairing Luke with Tracy, It was amusing and they made a good comic team, but not love story for Lords sake. What I really found sad that in the last years few years Tony was on the show Jane Elliot started showing her true colors in some interviews she did, making snide comments about the L&L story line. Bet she has no clue if not for that L&L storyline, GH would have been canceled and that would have put them all out of work (That's a fact, easy to look up). She made snide remarks about Genie in interviews. She really started sounding like a very jealous catty woman. She is very jealous of the L&L super couple. She & Tony became Best friends in those last 10yrs, traveling together in the last 10yrs of the show when they had time off (Not a relationship, just friends). I would bet it was Jane that day who walked into her dressing room that day in Told Genie she was nothing, it was ALL about Luke, and if she walked out tomorrow the fan's would get over it in a min!! So genie Francis walked and GH learned they needed Laura back and quick!!! Also MR Geary better remember if NOT for the HUGE success of L&L he would NOT be the multi Millionaire he is today. Jane Elliot was/is such an iconic actress in her own right as Tracy Quartermaine. Why she would be so threatened by the L&L historic love story is beyond me. I'm sure she was filling Tony's head with a lot of BS trying get rid of Genie repeatedly. She even made nasty remarks about Tony's last days, and how the another woman (Meaning Genie) was hurt because he saw Jane more important then Genie.
I was so very disappointed to find that the actor is definitely NOT the character!!!!!! AG is a terrific, award winning actor, but "Luke Spencer '" is a fictional character very different from the man Anthony Geary. Now that I finally got that straight in my head, I can enjoy the videos, and get back to life!

OMG yes!!! One of the reasons why I DON'T want Luke back is because if by some miracle, AG agreed to it, "Love AG madly, and he's looking great, BTW!" they plan to put him with TRACY! No offense to Jane Elliott, but not only do I hate the Tracy character if Luke comes back the loyal fans DESERVE to see him with LAURA! His real love, and the woman who started it all!!!!
TG is truly a brilliant talent, and he really electrified GH. But he was capable of expanding his talent to other projects. I read he felt hemmed in by the character of Luke for awhile, before he could really embrace it.

GH writers FORGOT about Luke, Laura and Robert friendship after 1993 , Luke would have never ever cheated on Laura with Holly between 1983-1995, and Luke and Laura relationship was RUINED between 2001-2015. This was a good Tony Geary/ Luke tribute video.
LnL was the best screen couple ever. They were 🔥 They melted all our tv screens. When TG turned on the Luke swag, have mercy he was hot, hot, hot. Add Scorpio to the mix and it was gold. Those three together made for great tv. The scene with Luke and Lucky talking about the rape was gold. TG really brought it.
I got my first VCR so I can record this show back in the late 70s. The thing weighed a ton and cost 600. A fortune back then. Soaps all went downhill after the L&L saga ended. They all tried to replicate this instead of thinking of something new. This saga caught up a large part of the country, but it was especially popular with the younger baby boomers. Generation Jones as we are now called.
It was 1980 when I bought my first VCR for the same reason. I was a teacher and started watching the show during the summer. I was so miserable when I had to go back to work in August I charged my VCR on my SEARS card. It was a purchase I never regretted!
whoever told GF that she wouldn’t be missed if she left GH was wrong on all levels. I’d take a guess as to who it was. They were just plain jealous of GF. Luke and Laura were the super couple of daytime soaps, no one came close to this dynamic duo and never will. TG, was amazing in his role as Luke. Luke and Laura on screen together was always hot! Their chemistry could not be matched when they played opposite anyone else. Luke was a famous add libber and Laura went along with ease. Although there was an age gap you wouldn’t know it, her acting ability was off the charts just like Luke’s. Miss those days terribly. In any interview I’ve seen with them together or separately they both had massive respect for each other. They both have kept their working relationship fairly private.
Love = Hurt = Pain Luke and Laura God I will always ❤ them. So much, too much. Writers you destroyed something we all needed to believe in. You just couldn't let them be happy you picked it apart as surely as you built it up. We humans can only take so much. True love is a test of time it endures all things. Just make sure the people are stronger than the love they give. Forgiveness is it's hallmark
Im late to the party as this vid was made quite some time ago. A masterpiece from being to end. I too was a hardcore OG LNL fan whose life was touched by Mr Gearu and Ms Francis. There will NEVER be another couple of their magnitude ever again. I like many others over the years didn t agree with some of the plot twists but the most insulting was Luke marrying Tracy. I hoped that someday Luke and his beloved Laura would ride out into the sunset together but it wasnot to be. If GH should be canceled I pray 🙏 that us the diehard fans get our wish just one last time😢.

The true character of Luke would never have married Tracey. He always had an all-consuming love just for Laura. The writers got it wrong.
