Dave is a LEGEND!! LGBTQ-Hypocrites you say that you want to be treated like everyone else is? Comedians make fun of everyone, each other, & even themselves. So stop asking for special treatment and at the same time asking to be treated like everyone else.

Yeah I know right how do you say I wanna be like everyone else and then ask for specials treatment saying no one can joke about you. Literally makes fun of Mexicans and every race but the most talked about thing this special is making fun of alphabet people. Its more so the media at fault and overly sensitive thin skinned people, the whole punching down thing pissed me off, you can laugh at all that other shit but not about yourself, ight ok, then you will never be apart of the group as you ask for.

The show was really a one of a kind moment. At first I was confused as to why he didn't move one from that one issue, until it reached the end of the show and it was revealed he was unraveling a much larger story and message....That dude has some mastery of delivery. There were layers to that show. Most importantly he really stood up for the art of comedy. It isn't just to make people laugh, it has always been the test of freedom of speech since the time of jesters (before that even). When he told the story of Daphne he revealed a larger truth. When the jester is driven to death, that is the limit of speech. That is the limit of the art. That entire show was a powerful protest over that level of oppression and how the tyranny over speech inevitably took a life. I hope it matters.

Exactly. Comedians, jesters, etc. they all fit the archetype of the Fool. The role of the Fool is to embody the absurd, to say those things that are not allowed to be said. For example, in the Middle Ages, court jesters would tell jokes about kings and popes that would get any other man executed. Ultimately they act as a pressure valve, a way of releasing pent-up tensions in a society; in other words, comedy is an outlet that helps keep us sane. If moral authoritarians shut down all other outlets of expression, that leaves just one: real world violence, which we don't need more of. That's why it's so important to safeguard our freedoms of speech and expression.

He used to make fun of all people. When he made fun of blacks and blacks were laughing at slavery it was by far the most unified and humane time for white and black Americans. He could do it again if he wanted but he deviated onto a more divisive path. Still love him, not offended, just miss the old Chappelle. There was no Alphabet people back then, we were all cool with each other. Sadly, everything we worked for is changing quickly as society used to look the other way when we were rich, now that the food supply chains are breaking down.

I'm glad you guys are admitting this has been happening for a long time. I was born in 1984 into an extremely pro cancel culture administration. And that was to try to forcefeed Christian family values which is unconstitutional. Its so annoying when people use Chappelle and his humor to defend their own phobias and paint a narrative that cancel culture is some kinda liberal movement. Nothing new, subject matter notwithstanding, talking about the LGBT community in a teasing manner really has hit nerves hard these days. Any negative words or opinions seemingly sets back that movement that many of that community feel like "here we go again" because of the scrutiny most have endured in their lifetimes.
