    What will be the final outcome and what do you want to see happen at Old Trafford?

    • @thetwistedfirestarter
      @thetwistedfirestarter หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The thing you all need to ask yourself is in 10-20yrs time when the stadium goes from rotting to rotten what then 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t understand the ‘I need XYZ brickwork etc in exactly the same place for the rest of my life to remember things’. I’m of the mindset that history is history and no matter what happens that history will still exist, I don’t need XYZ building to remember things as I have a memory function.

    • @thetwistedfirestarter
      @thetwistedfirestarter หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also ‘if’ it is to be a new stadium or probably even renovation it’s going to be sponsored. Now we have to accept that to keep up or accept that we can’t afford XYZ player and settle for second best 🤷🏻‍♂️ do we want an extra 50-100m a year to spend on the club/players or don’t we 🤷🏻‍♂️

      I personally want the original plan but seeing as that isn't happening now I'll be up for a new stadium. But it will be very emotional to see old Trafford go.

      I'll be honest, I've only ever been to Old Trafford twice. On rooneys debut against fenerbache & against Everton under Jose so I don't have the strong personal attachment to Old Trafford like the regular match going fans or people from Manchester. But would still be sad to see it go.

      I think a new stadium. United have an awesome past history, (- the Munich disaster) but we can't keep living in the past glory days, we need a new era starting, a stadium would be fitting.

    I’ve been supporting United since 1962 so have seen the development of the ground over the years along with the ups and downs of the team. Despite the wonderful memories in the existing ground I feel we must move on. We are the best club in the world and our stadium should reflect that. The match day experience at the moment is very poor especially when compared with the other new stadiums around the world. Having a new stadium and knocking down the old one doesn’t mean those memories are going to be lost. I’m genuinely excited by the proposals and am 100% behind them. Love the channel. Keep it coming.

    I used to have a season ticket in what was K stand and obviously having supported United since 1963 have some unforgettable memories of OT. If it is not possible to downsize the "old" ground for other teams then I think they will have to find some way of taking some of the infrastructure into the new build. As you say there are no facilities for fans at OT and it is very old fashioned and out of date with modern trends so I am all in favour of having a new higher capacity ground with restaurants etc on the land. We have to move with the times but also respect our history. Great shame to see the old ground go but we all have our memories and they will never go.

    I've been living in South Africa for the past 40 years but used to go to every home game in the 70s and early 80s, we used to stand in the left side of the pen in the stretford end, which is long gone now, but I will always have the memories, so what's needed now is a brand new state of the art world class stadium.

    The soul of Manchester United is not old trafford, it's us! The fans!
    We'll carry on the legacy of of this great stadium, old trafford might be in Manchester but there are countless Stretford ends in every corner of this planet.
    I understand the emotions of match going fans, the memories they have of every game, win, loss, pregame time with their friends, taking their child for the first time and more but these memories will remain!

    Adam. what people have not mentioned is that if they knock down Old Trafford BEFORE the new stadium is built where are we going to be playing our games for 3 years. We have over 50,000 season ticket holders and another 25,000 fans who have to be housed and surely compensation to those who will no longer get to see the team will outcost the knocking down of the old one. Where will we play for 3 years - The Etihad - no chance. It is absolute nonsense. If it has to be bulldozed it has to be AFTER we move to the new stadium. My preference is to use it for the Womens and U21 teams. Chris Wheeler does not speak for United fans. Get voting!!!

    The best stadium that we won’t own. This is classic Glazers, have a look at what they did with the Buccaneers stadium in the US.
    They tried to get the local residents to pay for it or they’d move it out of the area. That didn’t work out so then they lobbied local government. Sound familiar?
    This Wembley for the north is just a money rinse so that there’s minimal outlay for the Glazers and Jim.

    End of the day imo it’s not about us right now, it’s about Man Utd and Utds future. If that means a new stadium I’m fully on boar. If that’s redevelop I’m fully on board too. It’s all about the future of this football club. My personal opinion would be if it’s a new stadium why can’t we build a stadium that is identical to old Trafford now but with sir Bobby stand the same as fergie stand to try take us to the 100k mark. I love the red brick look. But obvs with all the new mods n toys that a new stadium needs. Also a roof. That way can take all our history to new stadium and won’t look out of place as in the Munich tunnel, trinity statue n fergie statue, clock, make it look like a “redeveloped old Trafford” instead of a fish bowl. OT is so iconic so keep that look

    You cannot rebuild the old stadium it will cost a fortune .
    Plus if you rebuild it you will have to play away for up to 4 to 5 years and where would you play all your home games.
    It's far more sensible to build a brand new state of the art stadium while staying at the old ground until the new one is finished new Trafford .
    For the new generation of chicken it's not about the old supporters it's about the new generation.
    Also we will be able to hold other big events there.
    A part of old Trafford can be added to the new stadium a musium the clock many things will thought of for the new stadium.
