80s baby right here🌈❗️My mom worked at Kmart across 4 states and got to choose and save a CPK for me before they let in the customers and they went WILD! It made the papers with customers getting in fights over them! Anyway, from the day I practically came home from the hospital to current my CPK Katie has always been close by and ages NB-6 every cross country trip to see relatives via van SHE HAD to be by my side! I even keep her in her wooden Coleco CPK cradle🥰along with all her other CPK things!
How can people throw all those toys in the rubbish. They should definitely donate them. So glad you saved them, we create too much rubbish in this world.

The Brown Bear - that is the one I had, just a size smaller - that was Brownie. And the Pound Puppies, yes! i had that with the carry case, about 5 of them (small ones) and about 3 Big ones, and the Strawberry shortcake accessories, perfume and all! That was a nice video seeing all those stuffed animals.

Great trash picking. You can put the plush in the dryer on air dry with dryer balls to help fluff them up. The bench that the bags were on was really nice.
That was so much fun! My girls were born in 1982 and 1984 (twins!) so they had so many of these toys. I can almost smell the Cabbage Patch dolls!! Thank you!!

I wash stuffed animals all the time, tie them in a pillow case, without over loading it. If they are small then 2 pillow cases in washer. Do not wash any you think have the stuffing used before polyester. I put mine in the dryer still in the pillow cases and they all came out fine. For bigger animals they end up in the sun for some time after the dryer. I usually take off ribbons as needed.

I think my first "Cabbage Patch" was a home-made one by my aunt. They must have sold kits to make them. I don't recall what CPK was my first one, but I accumulated quite a few!

Years ago there was a tv show that had appraisers on daily. The lady toy expert said to take dish soap and get a lot of bubbles. Then take the bubbles to clean the stuffed toys. Use a washcloth and just use the bubbles. I have been doing this for many years without any problem. You might try it!

They would be lined up outside the building when they heard we had some. We kept them in a locked room lol. The bald boy reminded me of Oliver, the one I had. The pound puppies! I remember my son had some of those, wish we would of kept them! Awesome video!
Janice I worked at Playhouse Toys in a big Mall in Houston during the Cabbage Patch madness as well our store only got 16 dolls the first go round and our manager said employees get two each and we had a few customers he called and that was it! he wasn’t going to have any nonsense happen in his store!
i never understood the cabbage patch craze…thankfully my daughter was born as the craze died down….always thought they were ugly….all the toy crazes are pure consumer indoctrination and shows how easily we are swayed ….bizarre human behaviour!
