His joy at his former job at Late Night is absolutely infectious. One of the best interviews as he definitely loved his time there and all the wonderful and wacky things he got to do.
Mike was/is one funny guy who came onto his own with the daily Wahoo Gazette. It began in late 1996 with a couple of short paragraphs and ended when the show did with chapter-length treatises. And that was just one of his many show responsibilities. If there’s anything I still miss about Late Show, it’s Mike.
Mike's rants in the Wahoo were hilarious. In particular, one about the officiating at his daughter's basketball game still lives in my head. I wish the old Wahoo's were still online somewhere.
One of the proudest moments in my life is when Mike mentioned my name in an issue of the Wahoo Gazette because I wrote in to remind him about Harvey Pekar.
I went to a show when Regis was the exclusive guest in January 2011, the two of them talked for half the show, I agree the two of them together was magic
1:36 It was the 2000 World Series. The 2001 World Series was a very memorable LOSS for the Yankees. They lost to the Diamondbacks via Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson. That was a really fun series to watch. It was the only time I ever felt (sorta) bad for the Yankees because 9/11 was only weeks prior and still very fresh.
I was once waiting outside the stage doors after a show to see which celebrities might exit. As a loyal Wahoo Gazette reader, I recognized Mike immediately as he left the building and screamed “MIKE McINTEE!!!!!” with twice the fervor of folks who had done the same for Matthew Perry just moments prior. Mike replied, “Nice pronunciation” without pausing or looking in my direction as he jumped into his waiting handsome cab*. Stars, man. *embellished for effect
For some reason, the Wahoo Gazette I remember most was when Mike said he had “bonked” his head over the weekend, but insisted it was “bunked”, because the term comes from when you hit your noggin getting out of the lower bunk bed.😅 And he was mad that bald guys who did it had to suffer the added humiliation of sporting a noticeable cut on their head for days after. A great guy. Former NYPD, too.

AND he taught us it was Herbie - not Hermie.
What exactly does a production coordinator do? Is it like a producer?

One of the best parts of the show!
@@dontrockwobble I have plans to do precisely that.
love you dad! ❤️ so proud of you
I burst out laughing at the car hood bit with Pat Farmer. Just a perfect ending to this episode.
I used the love that segment with Pat and wished Surprise Your On TV would become aCBS prime time spinoff show.
"Surprise. You're on TV!" LOL
These staff moment videos are some of the few things in life better than pizza.
One of the proudest moments in my life is when Mike mentioned my name in an issue of the Wahoo Gazette because I wrote in to remind him about Harvey Pekar.
Mike and Pekar, two legends.
i was a "casual mention" in two wahoo gazettes, the first when i answered a beach boys question (al jardine).
Any show with Regis was a treat. RIP king 👑

I laughed out loud at so many parts of this video. . .I REALLY miss the show!
He answered 1 of my questions about Dave on the website he ran back when the interwebs was new

Miss those days
Finally! We’ve been waiting for this one! McIntee is such a good egg!
"I wonder if that's 'H' or 'R' ...?" LMAO
“Did you see that guy across the street!?! He didn’t have any pants on!”
😂
I love this! I became a fan of Mike from reading the Wahoo Gazette way back when. Ah, those were the days!
TV's Mr. Roper, Norman Fell!
Way to go, Mike! You did a great job helping Dave out with various things on his show.
Lmao
@@danwroy Why are you laughing at the truth?
What a dream job Mike ❤
This is awesome Mike - thank you!
Thank you Mike!!❤️🤓
Bravo and thank you to Barbara, Mary or whoever produces these video posts.
If only there were someone out there knowledgeable about the inside workings of the show who could let us in on this kind of information.

I love these so much. Would like to hear from more of the musician guys like Will Lee, Steve Jordan and Sid McGinnis.
And Felicia Collins.
What a great fill-in announcer! :D Sounds kinda like Bill Wendell
I never smiled wider 😊 best show ever!
Hilarious. Love all the bits that you guys did. Thanks Dave!
Finally! We learn the back story of that mysterious plate of ribs!
Barbara mentions them in hers as well.

Hanson cab, I think you mean.
@@raymondm.9954 no, this thing was a real looker.
You were so good at your job on Dave Letterman.
Great stuff
Damn, that's a good thumbnail :)
This guy looks like Ken Kesey. Can’t ignore it. Five bags of popcorn.

Too funny, thanks for sharing your favorites.

Always wondered why those ribs were behind the desk. Thanks for sharing. Great segment.
Lol that was great !
I'm fine with the gravy dump, but I recoil in horror when I see it splashing onto the RCA microphone!
No disrespect to Alan Kalter, but man, Mike woulda been a kickass announcer
Very strong moments!
What's next for Mike McIntee?
