When I was stalking the staffers outside the Sullivan Theater back in the ‘90s (and I guess I still am), no one was kinder, more tolerant, friendlier, and just plain nicer than Jill. Either she has a heart of gold or she’s a terrific actor. I’ve seen her act, and it’s definitely the former. Everyone loves this woman.
I'll do you one better ... me and my girlfriend flew in from Minnesota with tickets, but we got cut off just as we got to the door. All full. But Dave's assistant Laurie Diamond listened to our tale of woe and put us right in the green room with Jan Hooks.
It wouldn't be a Thanksgiving show on David Letterman without Dave's mom, Dorothy Letterman and her pies, one of the best highlights of his series. Rest In Peace, Dorothy Letterman. 🕯
What a wonderful compilation. Jill’s emotions can be felt through the screen, and it’s a delight. And the fact that Tony Randall has finally had some more attention on here is equally wonderful.
The sheer ingenuity, irreverence & delight that went into these fantastic moments has never been matched. Incredibly grateful that I grew up being able to experience these segments on almost a daily basis back in the day. Nothing today compares.
I loved when Dave's mom was on the show. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The pants! 😹😹😹 Martin Short is always gold. The Tony Randall bits.oh gosh. These favorites are the best.
Thank You, Dave... Paul... Jill... All of the Writers & Crew of The Late Show... Appreciate you ALL so much... My Family and I STILL lift a toast to Dorothy Letterman on Thanksgiving! Peace & Love during the Holidays and ALWAYS!
For those who don't know: In 2006, Jimmy Kimmel was looking for a new executive producer. He asked Regis Philbin for advice. Regis recommended Jill Leiderman. Kimmel hired Jill Leiderman, and she served as executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live from 2006 through 2020.
The bit with Elaine Stritch as Dave's pool boy was classic! When she called Dave "Skippy" I didn't fall out of my chair laughing, but I darn near came close to it.
Fun fact: I actually live in a house at the exact same address as the house Dave grew up in Indianapolis, just one street over. I can walk two blocks to the grade school he went to and six blocks to the high school he went to. Oh and the guy that put a new roof on my house, he was Dave's High School classmate! 😁
It's funny; I never even considered that. I suppose I was young enough when I was watching that I didn't think about it, and I would actually feel terrible if I found out it wasn't her home. Instead, I feel relief.
I was distracted when she was talking about the Price is Right bit... I legit thought she was a real contestant until the booing started! She's a good actor!
Funny, what Don says. I have watched many of the staffers shows here, including a dozen that ran after this episode, and this one makes the warmest impact. By far. And forgive me, but much finer with the passage of time, from what is shown. Of course, don't believe anything you see on TV!
I've always wondered why audio edits are so noticeable given that we're living in the digital age. ie: The inserted listing of celebrity guests. I get hung up on the weirdest stuff.

No doubt, she seems like the consummate sweetheart. She's easy on the eyes too.
She was pretty good in the Price is Right bit so she seems like a good actor in addition to being a kind person.
Not everything is literal.

I'm going with heart of gold. I just started crushing on her just a lot.

Rest In Peace, Dorothy Letterman. 🕯
I loved Dave's mom. I still have her cookbook.
Imagine how good those pies were....woo raspberry!
Seeing Mom's refrigerator full of Colt 45s and Slim-Jims will forever be etched in my mind.

I have no children, but I almost want to adopt a kid just so I can "indoctrinate" them into being a Letterman fan...
Dorothy seemed like such a wonderful human being. RIP!
Dave guessing the pies his mom baked for Thanksgiving was one of my favorite bits each year.
Absolutely loved Dave’s mom. Thanks for sharing Jill. 😊
This lady produced some of the greatest segments! Love it!
I loved when Dave's mom was on the show. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The pants! 😹😹😹 Martin Short is always gold. The Tony Randall bits.oh gosh. These favorites are the best.
This is one of my favorite “staff favorites” yet. She had loads of clips I don’t remember at all and these were great.
She is delightful! I love the videos where staff members share their memories of the show.
Thank You, Dave... Paul... Jill... All of the Writers & Crew of The Late Show... Appreciate you ALL so much... My Family and I STILL lift a toast to Dorothy Letterman on Thanksgiving! Peace & Love during the Holidays and ALWAYS!
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition for many years was Dave guessing his Mom's pies. What great memories!
This was great. How lucky you were to be part of all that madness. Thank you.

Dave's mom was incredible. I was always happy to see her.
Jill is such a joy! Love her segments and miss the show so much ❤️🙌🏻. Jill helped make the Circus'return every year to Manhattan so wonderful ❤️
Yay! Love you Jill! Thanks for putting me to work too! So great to see you!
I love Dave’s mom❤
Marty Short always one of my favorites. He’s always fantastic
Please keep these coming! It’s truly a wonderful way to relive and learn even more about the show!
Amazingly funny. Dave guessing a pie and showing Marv Albert. I miss these.

Producer of comedy bits for Dave Letterman.... best f*cking job in the whole f*cking world!
The bit with Elaine Stritch as Dave's pool boy was classic! When she called Dave "Skippy" I didn't fall out of my chair laughing, but I darn near came close to it.

Still making me feel better, after all these years. 😊
Jill, so enjoyed this. You are a Rock Star!!!!
Best one of these I’ve seen. Two snaps up!
I watched every year to see what pie Mom made ❤
These 'Staff Favorite Moment' videos are WONDERFUL, and I think this has been my favorite thus far. Thank you!
You were the greatest comedy writer. After you left, Letterman just wasn't the same. Many laughs during those years. God Bless.
LOVE THIS ONE! Especially her story about Dave's mom. Thank you.
Jill Leiderman was one of the sweetest people when I was on the show...and everybody's crush
She was mine
That was one of the best bits from the Late Show. Thanks for posting.
I love Dave going Door to Door for any reason.
Also, just want to say: Eternal thanks and hugs to Jill for helping make so many iconic comedy moments happen ❤🙏
I loved every pie and Thanksgiving with Daves mom..
When Dave would spray Richard Simmons with a fire extinguisher - I had tears in my eyes from laughter. 🤡🙀😱
I really loved this. Thanks for sharing, Jill
Dave's mom was the best!
What a gorgeous woman Mrs Letterman was. Loved those segments
I was never sure if Dave's mom was actually broadcast from her home or on a stage set. It's heartwarming to learn it was her actual kitchen!
@@oneirishpoet That is cool!
I live in Indianapolis I’ve been in the area off of Broad Ripple Street. Never actually found the house tho, on my bucket list….
It's funny; I never even considered that. I suppose I was young enough when I was watching that I didn't think about it, and I would actually feel terrible if I found out it wasn't her home. Instead, I feel relief.
@@oneirishpoet So the house changed addresses? ;)
Loved Regis energy
So fantastic!
My brain cells will now forever etch in stone that Erik Estrada is totally wearing a rug. Thanks, Jill!
Hearing Barbara Gaines laughing at the end...the best!
THANKY YOU, those clips you showed were GREAT!
Love the Team Rocket necklace. What a cool person!!
I loved this "Staff Favorite Moments" video ❤️ It made me smile and laugh from beginning to end. More please!!!! 😉 Happy Thanksgiving Dave! 🧡
Every video reminds me of how much I miss Dave and the gang!
Help, I can't stop watching these. My brain demands sleep, but my eyes are not willing.
Tony Randall at the Super Bowl was hilarious 😂😂😂
She is a mesmerizing woman. Not only her beauty, but, her personality. What a catch.
I was distracted when she was talking about the Price is Right bit... I legit thought she was a real contestant until the booing started! She's a good actor!
That was fantastic. Nice lady.
Funny, what Don says. I have watched many of the staffers shows here, including a dozen that ran after this episode, and this one makes the warmest impact. By far. And forgive me, but much finer with the passage of time, from what is shown.
Of course, don't believe anything you see on TV!
Man ……….. I so miss this show
Thanks for this.
I was really expecting a bunch of potatoes to topple out of that box. lmao
@10:18 That's the brand of kitty litter I buy!!! LOL😂😂😂
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PIES ! 🥧 💖 💕 ❤️ 💗 🥧 🍰
That magic act music Paul would play just added to the scene.
KNOW KNOW KNOW KNOW KNOW KNOW KNOW KNOW YOUR CUTS OF MEAT
You're hilarious, Jill!
Those people who took time out of their busy schedule to go to Dave's Moms house. Marv Albert and Richard Simmons
Who was background laughing at the end? Sounds like Barbara?! 😊
I miss this so much!
I love this
Regis and Tony Randall were my unforgettables.
This is the best one!
The made up musical numbers, AND fresh step... Comedy gold! 😊
I've never had a raspberry pie but man does that sound good!
4:00 too bad Jay Leno , Dave’s heart has gone on 😂 🙌
I totally remembered that raspberry pie.
I remember that x-ray bit, yelling at the tv, "It's ADAM SANDER!"
LMAO FRESH STEP is a classic
We really need a favorites video from Helen! 😘
I miss this great late show
"Yes, David."
Love these Favorite Moments. Look forward to hearing from Chris Elliot. Or have I missed him?
That would be the best. Chris was my favourite writer/performer on the show, by far. I still watch his zany show, Get a Life, once in a while.
I had such a crush on the Letterman girl in blue at 13:26
Jill Leiderman for President!! She's totally adorable too!! ❤❤
We shall not see its like again.
(Who is the model on the right at 13:30?)
Andrea Sande (camera right)
I can't believe how gigantic KISS is. If I'da known that, I woulda liked their music more.
Hey Letterman release the Billy Bob Thornton interviews
The show was the best!
dont know who did it first, but they also made a boy band on conan obrian called boys a plenti
I've always wondered why audio edits are so noticeable given that we're living in the digital age. ie: The inserted listing of celebrity guests. I get hung up on the weirdest stuff.
This is the perfect woman.
Please tell me that Marv didn't hit on Dave's mom.
who is the guy at 8:23 trying to identify adam sandler? he looks so familiar
Why didn't " Fresh Steps" take OFF😂😂😂😂
COBY Bryant speake Italiano ❤❤
😍 you are so lovely.
So, that explains why David's television production company was called, "World Wide Pants".
I think we all agree the best bit in here is Martin Short being towered over by women
More Tony Randall please.
Please do one with Todd the Intern
Jack Nicholson missed out.
If he had participated in the bit with Biff, people would know who he is now.
