Nice trick. Quick tought and tips about the Stibbing. If you going throught face up , it's possible that more alert people might notice the red/black pattern. I have seen it before. So if you do it face down, you have to change the order but get the same result with a bigger build up 😊 thank for the share!

Thank you for sharing. I absolutely love this trick , I have used it loads with all my family and friends and people down the gym lol , it gets great reactions , I still can’t understand how it works , the blue deck is set up , but the red cards can be shuffled they can pick any card and place it anywhere in the deck and then everytime the card is in the same position as the blue deck , just blows my mind but I love it 😀👍
@Steven Taputoro You are so wonderful for sharing the trick. It's a great one-- very impressive, no sleight of hand needed, and fairly easy to do. Great for a beginner like me. Thank you so much! Great trick ! Thx. I have a question, though : every time I have customised a deck like this (Detour de Force, for example) using Sharpies or any other marker, the ink on each card's back has eventually made an orange mirror mark on the cards' faces, even after letting them dry for a day or two before assembling the deck. So, please, if anyone knows a method to avoid this problem, I am interested. Thanks a million.

Hmmm.... Thinking through this trick. Could it be done by memorizing the cards & numbers, but making the numbers hidden on the backs of the red cards? That might make it a bit more complicated, though.
I think the number mark is required in order to perform this trick in a shorter time, since explaining to other people the value of each card by number is a long process.

Hi, awesome trick and turorial Steven as always! Just have a question. The stack you said on the blued deck is Si Stebbins? I know the Si Stebbins stack and they are usually done in cyclical of 3s -- the blue deck isn't. I noticed though that in the red deck you are using the Si Stebbins stack in 3s as part of your method to determining the indicator card with number at the back. Why is this so? Am a little confused *\_(“,)_/* because I use or know a different Si Stebbins stack from what you posted here. Please help clarify. Thanks.
^This. Doesn't seem to be Sy Stebbins stack that I've used in other tricks. Even had to double check that I hadn't messed up my stack...I'm certain it works as described but...🤷♂️
@@rogerrugg9184 I guess in the absence of a reply from Steven himself then we would just have to assume that the trick will work as advertised, so to speak. But the blue deck is NOT Si Stebbins stack to the best of my knowledge.
@@Magicmarts did the setup last night and works as taught, guess the Sy Stebbins under pinnings just makes it more mysterious instead of flipping a card and going right to it...still pretty amazing...👍
Yes, unfortunately no reply from Steven until now. I am preparing the stack and labels as indicated in the video and am sure it will work as advertised. The only thing is that I got me confused *\_(“,)_/* is when Steven said that stack is in Si Stebbins when he should not have mentioned that in the first place -- maybe he should have just said a special stack. The Si Stebbins should be used only to determine the key card indicator on the red deck -- that's it. Thanks everyone!
You use Si Stebbins to determine the card to use from the number deck, but the other deck is in no particular order (other than it makes sure the numbers always work).
Wow, wonderful trick. Would you please show hot you stacked the Blue cardsk shown at timestamp 5:06. I tried to use the Si Stebbins stack method and it does not give me that order as shown by you. Thank you.
Why not to use Si Stebins order in the blue deck? That would require to write different numbers in the back of the cards of the red deck, but will allow to continue a routine with the blue deck. What you think?
An idea for you guys (using a table): - Spectators shuffle the red deck and name a card. - You spread the cards on a table and tell spectators to touch and take their chosen card. - While they search for their card, you locate "your" card and then cut the deck in the desired position. Tip: While spreading the cards you touch every single card in the table, trying to "help" them locating their card, but in fact you are locating your card and preparing yourself for cutting the deck.
Buenas noches. Me parece un efecto BRUTAL y ASOMBROSO y acompañado de una buena presentación sería un IMPOSIBLE, realmente MÁGICO. Muchas gracias Steven por mostrarlo, has ganado un seguidor. Saludos desde España.
Liking and commenting as requested, before you explain the trick. Here's my prediction of how it's done: the blue deck is arranged specially beforehand: each card is placed at a known position (the number of cards is 52 minus the number on its back away from the top of the deck); each card has a counterpart (they add up to 52 on their backs--5 of clubs had 33, 8 of hearts had 19). When you were pretending to be searching for the 5 of clubs, you were actually looking for the 8 of hearts first; I'm guessing the counterparts always add to 13 to make it easy to remember, and the suits are paired such that hearts and clubs go together. Then, when you're dealing cards down to "pick the place in the deck to put the 5" you're placing the 8 of hearts on top of it regardless where they choose (because it is on the bottom of the deck in your hand). Then it's only a matter of showmanship to pretend like it randomly ended up being next to the 19.
While the effect is actually great, the difficult part is when the card you determine by adding three to the one that was selected comes a lot later in the red deck after the selected one. I currently don't see me convincingly look for this card, and find and place it at the bottom after I already separated out the named card - by simply claiming 'look, all cards are different'. This may work many times with enough practice - but clearly will also fail sometimes and look suspicious at least in an instant repeat.
I think so. The 10H is the 20th card and the 6H the 21th in the blue stack. 10+3=K (10->J->Q->K) and S comes after H in CHSD. So the numbered red card should be KS. And looking at the red table, the KS should have the number 20 on it's back. The next card in the table (the 21th) is 9S which would also be appropriate for the 6H according to the formula.
Thanks for sharing this trick. I will show it to friends and family. Just a thought, in your example of 43 would it be proper to deduct 43 from 52 and only have to count 10 cards. Just so you know I'm smiling and I'm not a smart ass. I will be 89 in February and my time is short. (I hope I didn't jinx myself) Someone else may have asked the same question but I didn't take the time to read all the replies.
If they pick the Jack of Hearts, are you looking for the Ace of Spades or the Ace of Hearts? I think it’s spades , right? You add the 3 to get Ace and then change the suit, right? This is an awesome trick! Thanks for the great video!
Just my luck... my first time trying this one on someone I needed to find the Jack of Spades and it was the LAST CARD IN THE DECK! It looked so odd just dropping that one down and then the rest on top!
Not quite at the end of the video but I'm assuming if you get the king queen or Jack that it would go in order as of the number 10 card Jack is 11 Queen is a 12 and king would be 13
Neither deck is in Si Stebbins stack. The red deck (with numbers on the back) can be shuffled, therefore it is not in a stack. The numerical sequence of the red deck is not Si Stebbins. The Si Stebinns principle of adding 3 to the value of the card and progressing one position in the CHaSeD sequence of the suits, comes into play after they freely name any card in the deck.
@@modusponens18I compleetly agree with you, the order displayed for the blue deck is not that of a Si Stebbins stack ! Furthermore, this trick not a strict ACAAN, although it may seems like one.

How do you number the cards and correlate with the order in the blue deck?
It’s all explained.
Nice. Only problem is when you do the trick for the same card twice and the number card is also "coincidentally" the same.
Liking and commenting as requested, before you explain the trick. Here's my prediction of how it's done:
the blue deck is arranged specially beforehand: each card is placed at a known position (the number of cards is 52 minus the number on its back away from the top of the deck); each card has a counterpart (they add up to 52 on their backs--5 of clubs had 33, 8 of hearts had 19). When you were pretending to be searching for the 5 of clubs, you were actually looking for the 8 of hearts first; I'm guessing the counterparts always add to 13 to make it easy to remember, and the suits are paired such that hearts and clubs go together.
I use Stebbins a lot so this is a great addition. Thanks for sharing!
What do you count picture cards as?
Hi is the blue stack correct as the 10 of hearts is followed by the 6 of hearts thx
What happens if someone picks a card 8, 9 10, jack, queen or king. How do you add three to it? Can they only pick a card below 8?
I'd assume you just circle back to ace, 2, 3 and so on
@@ikcikor3670 Thanks for your reply. I obviously wasn't paying attention to the video, he does actually describe that situation towards the end.
Really Incredible! Thanks fo sharing.
So cool! Thanks for sharing this trick!
Just stumbled on this and you, sir, have earned a sub. Such a great trick
O. M. G. Steven this was so friggin good. Ive never seen such a mind boggling trick which is actually set up.
Thanks Joshua 🙏🏽
If they pick the Jack of Hearts, are you looking for the Ace of Spades or the Ace of Hearts? I think it’s spades , right? You add the 3 to get Ace and then change the suit, right? This is an awesome trick! Thanks for the great video!
if they name a jack do you go to the ace plus the next suit ,example if they choose jack of spades do you go to the ace of diamonds
Just my luck... my first time trying this one on someone I needed to find the Jack of Spades and it was the LAST CARD IN THE DECK! It looked so odd just dropping that one down and then the rest on top!
Lol, and what if they ask you to shuffle the blue deck? Or grab it to shuffle it when you remove them from the box?
Very nice trick. Thanks I was taught a really good one too when I was young.
Such an amazing trick and such an amazingly nice guy to teach it!!
Excelente juego!!! Genial el tutorial!! Felicitaciones!! Muchísimas gracias!! Un abrazo muy fuerte desde Argentina
Gracias mi hermano!
Cheers Steve you always go the extra mile and explain very well. Thanks. 🥳👍🥳
Anytime mate. Thanks for the support 🙏🏽
outstanding- a guy performed this last night at our Magic club meeting. all set up to go. thanks for sharing
If I have order Spades/Hearts/Clubs/Diamond in my mind for sistebbins wich is the order of blue deck? Thanks!
If I'm not mistaken I believe the blue deck is set in Stebbins and the red. deck with numbers is and should be shuffled by them.
Blue deck is not in sistebbins order…
@@MicheleMangini-ds5tw are you sure? I'll have to watch it over again. The red is completely shuffled
Hola amigo. Una rutina muy bella. Me puedes decir el autor. Gracias un saludo.
Not quite at the end of the video but I'm assuming if you get the king queen or Jack that it would go in order as of the number 10 card Jack is 11 Queen is a 12 and king would be 13
how can this trick work when the blue pack cards have a perminant fixed position
Try it out and you’ll see it does ☺️
Thank you for sharing, awesome!
What did you call the name of the stack of the blue deck?
Si Stebbins stack
@@eul6097it doesn’t look like any Stebbin setup I’ve seen before?
@@YourModulesMayVary I thought the same. I am familiar with the Si Stebbings set up but did not see that in the blue deck.
@@josephsissonthanks for clearing that up! I love this trick even more now that they can freely name any card. Makes it so much stronger
This is pretty cool. I'm going to buy some extra decks tomorrow to try this out.
If one must add three to the participant’s selection, what happens when they choose a high card, like a Jack or King?
Watch the whole tutorial.
This is a really nice trick using the Si Stebbins stack. Very well done and looks seamless. 5 Stars!
That order is not Si Stebbins tho!
@@modusponens18I compleetly agree with you, the order displayed for the blue deck is not that of a Si Stebbins stack !
Furthermore, this trick not a strict ACAAN, although it may seems like one.
@modusponens18 I agree. I commented on that about 5 days ago and dm'd Steven regarding it. I've heard nothing back from him yet.
It’s a great trick . I came up with my own handling for this trick . It’s not better by any means just suits my style better .
I will be back to watch this after I have two decks of cards. Until then, I liked and commented. Have a great day and thanks!
