A few weeks ago we saw our two leopard geckos mating, and I noticed the girl getting large, so I watched a few videos and I set up an incubator, and she laid 2 eggs. Last night I checked on them after 24 hrs and one egg was dented, like it collapsed in on itself. I stuck the probe inside the Tupperware the eggs are in, maybe too much humidity escaped. I didn't realize I could leave the probe just outside. ☹

Isabella Gifford automatic shutoff/on thermostats controller, cooler, bottles of liquids, a tray for top of the bottles and a few containers, purelife or anything without (fertilizer) because fertilizer is toxic to eggs as it penetrates the calcium shell and poisoned the embryos .... but you want something to keep eggs moist and natural and not hard to sit on. the heat strips and maybe if you want... a humidity gauge or some kind of auto humidifier. It’s pretty easy to do but hard to get your mind around if you never done it before.
You can find most stuff at Walmart, pet shops, a gardening store for the thermostats etc

Do I have to use a reptile heating pad or is a normal one for humans okay?
We recently had a successful lock with our ball pythons, and are in the process of making an incubator for the eggs. We were told it needed a fan for air flow. Is that just for air flow inside, or do we need to bring outside air in?
well you need to open the lid every few days, that's enough

Hi I have a question I've used a sterlite 56 quart tub with a water heater and I put holes in the tub to give it air my only problem is the humidity is way too high I am using a submersible water heater with a temp gauge to adjust the heat any idea how to fix the humidity
Are the eggs in seperate containers and above the water? If so, try using sealed containers for the eggs without any holes and just open them every few days to circulate air. A fan could also help, you can use those mini computer fans or literally just use one of those usb powered ones, they're like $5

If I use a heat mat will I need to put something in between the egg container and the heat mat?
Never a good idea to sit something directly on top of a heat mat, it will cook the eggs. Use something to lift it off the bottom, like the tray the guy in the video used.

Isabella Gifford you need a ve-100 thermostat. Others aren’t 100% reliable
LGpro there are tons of reliable stats, VE makes great ones but there are tons more available
Wickens Wicked Reptiles yes, I meant the cheap ones aren’t, but for starters, the ve-100 is not too pricey and it’s worked great so far. Which one would you recommend ?
