I think your Apenglow looks perfect, but you got to be happy. Although, I think that's how we end up with stashes. We order versus visiting the LYS and we don't love it when it arrives. Hope you love your new colors. All the best, K

Definitely cut the colors you don't like out of the spincycle. I made a shawl and kept all the colors (including the ones I didn't like) and I now wish I had just cut them out 😅. You can always give the bits you didn't like to other people.

Your gut was right. The cream is beautiful but the spin cycle is looks like it has a whiter base and not as muted. Maybe pick up one of the colors in the spin cycle…a lighter , very light pink for the main color would tie it together and a darker pink for the collar and for the fuzzy a white pink may bring it home. Good luck

The colors for your alpenglow have good contrast next to the spincycle. Try swatching with them. You could also take a black and white photo to assess the contrast. Anyway, happy knitting! 💕

I am so happy for you going forward to order new colors for your Alpenglow sweater since you are not happy with what you have at the moment. Its such a hard thing to change your mind even after spending so much on your original choices but its so worth it in the end! If you aren't happy at the start then you won't be happy knitting or even want to wear it in the end. Its something I've been working on this year and its helping bring more joy with my knitting and finished objects! I cannot wait to see what you end up with after your virtual shopping appointment! And with all the yarn you don't use you may be inspired to use those together for a whole new project! I've done that many times before: get yarn for one project but change it up and end up matching what I didn't use with other yarn for a completely different project!

Thanks for sharing. I’m taking the PFC and all week I’ve been collecting cardboard so I can measure my friends and families feet. Glad you’re slowing down, it takes all the joy out when you work like a machine. I really like the yarn you choose for your sweater but it you’re not feeling it then get something you love.

Our family and extended family just took a trip to Reunion together in June, and we ALL went on the Guardians ride... some of us twice but our last day, my FAVORITE day/park (Epcot) it started pouring down torrential rain and wasn't stopping like it usually does... but I couldn't agree more, that ride is next-level and was super fun! Our 12 YO son is obsessed with it lol.. So glad you had a great time - I always look forward to watching your videos while I get some knitting in. Your yarn choices and pattern choices are always so inspiring :)

I love the shorts-may give them a try! I would be interested in seeing more of your process of buying vs. using your yarn. Most of your organization/stash reduction is simply giving yarn away. I’m trying to buy responsibly and use in a reasonable time frame. Just giving it away doesn’t solve the responsibility problem for me. Any tips? Also, have you heard anything about the SWMKAL?

I love your podcasts. I have been knitting for years but always struggle with what I call "Knitting ADD." I have too many projects and get overwhelmed. I loved your tips on organizing, using your journal, and managing your stash. I love that you shared about picking yarn for Alpenglow. I also want to knit this sweater, but have not bought my yarn yet. My local yarn shop has limited sport weight yarn, and I wish I could use DK. I don't like to order much online because I want to feel and see the yarn in person. There seems to be mixed opinions about using DK and sport weight interchangeably. What is your opinion?

I think a podcast every two weeks is good. Since knitting isn’t super fast you don’t go over the same projects all the time.

I don’t think that the Magpie dark color really works with the rest of it. And the mohair is not the right shade either. You might want to check Biche et Buches, they have beautiful mohair. I am blessed to be able to purchase primarily high end Indie Dyer yarn but I am adamant about quality and happiness with a color scheme. If you are not feeling right and it doesn’t work for you, then find something else. Also, I am in my 60s, have been knitting over 20 years but only recently started knitting sweaters. I have never knitted any pattern with the yarn exactly as advertised, whether it is the color or the brand of yarn. I like to try new things but I also have certain dyers whom I rely on to provide excellent quality yarn.
