I went w/ one of these over one w/ a built in fan bc in the past when I've had a mini pc the fan eventually fails and most of the time due to how it's built can't be replaced. With this type of pc you can still slap a nice quite 120mm fan on top that drop temps by 10-15C which will extend the life of the unit and allow it to perform better. Great lil pc. I run it dual boot w/ Win11 & Linux.
I have one of these PCs, it is a great machine and I shall probably buy more. However, there is an issue if you are running 100% for a long time when days/nights are hot. I am using it for astrophotography control, taking pictures and tracking the stars at the same time running a WiFi hotspot and Wifi link back to my house. It works very well for this but the processor is busy all the time. On hot summer nights after about 2hrs the WiFi drops but the PC kept running. The reason is because the WiFi chip is only rated to 80 degrees maximum operating temperature. Fitting an 80mm USB powered fan on the top grill drops the temperature by over 30 degrees and the Wifi keeps running. This is only a problem on hot nights, other times of the year no fan will be needed for my application. It is a very well built machine, all metal. It is heavier than the cheaper plastic N100s so bear that in mind if you want to use it on your telescope.
