Great coverage of the Games on this channel. I always notice Anderson's thoughtful questions in the press conferences too! These review videos are an excellent way to digest all of these top 1-10 all-time performances witnessed during the games. In particular, I've never seen so many events have those all-time marks in the 3rd to 10th places re-written so extensively in one global championships! The depth of performances in some events was crazy!

Great highlight . The woman's 400 has become so competitive. It's a shame Miller Uibo isn't at her best when the 400 m pool has become so deep.
I hope to see more of your interviews with the athlete's. Your one of the few that supports and respects each athlete and doesn't focus on the negative stuff that's out there.

Been saying for a while now that the W400m has the potential to be 'the track event' if everyone who has the ability to run it actually runs it! In addition to a healthy Shaunae, Syd & Femke, there's also Britton Wilson & Kaylyn Brown who've both run 49.13, Athing who's run 49.57, Gabby & Shamier who've both run 49.68 & many others!

An amazing final. I've always respected Paulino and knew she was the "one to beat", but that lady just doesn't know how to lose and was even more dominant than I expected. Naser - I really hope that was an honest and "unassisted" silver. If it was, her shaving off nearly 3 seconds of her 400m result between end of May and August is a phenomenal feat. Natalia Kaczmarek - that's an "I told you so" moment, but beyond that I'm just so proud of her achievement. Medal in such a stacked field and amazing consistency. Hope she gets more respect from now on, because she was pretty much ignored in podium picks before. What surprised me was Nickisha Pryce not making it to the final (too much mental pressure for a young athlete, perhaps). Hope she and the rest of Jamaican squad recover, because it was a pity to see it fall apart for many of their fantastic female sprinters.

Is anyone truly running unassisted tbf? Not saying athletes are taking anything thats banned, but obviously some will be, but we all know most or many abuse the TUE rules. Its not hard for them to get a doctor to prescribe them with something for a fictitious ailment. How so many supposedly suffer from asthma is bewildering.

I was so surprised by Marileidy. I think most people considered her the favourite, but I wasn't expecting anything below 43.4, even at that I would have been really impressed. I had been rooting for Nickisha, but I was also aware that after a long NCAA season, success was very unlikely for her. This brings me onto Amber Anning, who despite also having a long NCAA season ran a PB and NR in the final and then went on to run a great anchor leg in the women's 4x4. If these Razorbacks continue to improve after leaving the NCAA the 400m is going to be even more crazy.
I can easily see Marileidy coming last in the next 400m Olympic final or even not qualifying, there is just so much young talent. Add to that the possibility that Sydney and Femke could be in the race. At this point I am reasonably confident that the WR will go by the LA final at the latest and I'm super confident that we will see more sub 48's by then.
I was also really impressed by Salwa. She had been improving steadily since her return, but it was her semi-final performance that really showed she was back. Natalia capped off an amazing season and continues to make big improvements year on year.
This has been the best season ever for women's 400m running. 17 women have run sub 50, but the thing that really bodes well for the future is that nine of those seventeen women were born since 2000. Kaylyn Brown 49.13 at the age of 19. These young women have four years and two world championhsips before LA. Before Paris I was really looking forward to amazing performances and setting new standards. After Paris, I'm looking forward to LA even more. I can't believe we still have another five Diamond League meets to look forward to.

@@nsudatta-roy8154 To give some perspective on the current talent. Amber Anning's run in the Olympic final broke the British record held by Christine Ohorugu, a World and Olympic gold medalist and it was only enough to land her in 5th place.
Earlier this year the Razorbacks had four women clock sub 50's in a single race, that's better than any national team could do other than the US.
Salwa should OK. She's only a year older than Sydney and Femke and she always seems like she could improve further.

They did an interview talking about how it's very easy to miss a test. Testers sometimes go to the wrong building or room and then leave without informing the athlete until after they're gone. Sometimes they show up at the athletes school during exam week when they are out studying like in Jasmine's case, showing up to her dorm when she was in the school library.
Whereabouts are established months in advance. Athletes have to guess where they're going to be at that time. Plans change though and they have to remember to change the location of their whereabouts. If someone in their family gets sick or they just need to go visit them and the athlete forgets exactly where the testers are going to be at a certain date then that counts as missed test.

She is now getting tested frequently (I can confirm she has been tested A LOT these past 2 years). I'm not sure what we expect of her.
The questions are not for Naser, if there is an issue, those questions are for WADA or whoever. Naser now follows the protocols of the sport. When she didn't follow them, she was banned.
Is the question that the ban should have been longer? then how long? Is the question that I shes specious and should stop running based on what has occurred since returning in 2023? How do you know and what is it exactly?
Thats my only thing, I'm not sure these questions get asked in an effort to receive a real answer, they are asked in a way to confirm suspicions that already exist. But it is what it is. I generally don't dive into bans and that convo anyway haha too controversial

@@TheFinalLeg all good points... and worthy of another video!
Another situation to address is the Erriyon Knighton vs Shelby Houlihan "burritogates"; why does one athlete get treated with kid gloves and another given a very harsh ban? Why would a middle-distance athlete be taking anabolics anyway whereas a 200m runner would definitely benefit!?
Lots of issues to chew on in the future yet I don't want to sidetrack a wonderful post about a wonderful race!

This is why Sydney went back to hurdles. She knows that she won't dominate the 400m flat like the hurdles.

Well, if she really wants to do that there is always a beautifully compact three week Diamond League season remaining this European Summer (not counting the Final) but with only one chance in the both the 200m and 400m flat to get the points to qualify for the Diamond League Finals (of both) on 13 September.
