We've had one for the past 2 years and used it for absolutely everything, including crushing ice. Absolutely reliable and didn't encounter any problem mentioned above. The SEAL is the most crucial part of all, if not installed correctly. In all that time, this is the very first time I have found out how to properly install the seal (flat side down). I give the blender, a solid 5 stars.
The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!
Hi. Have this model but the black collar is stuck to the base. The blender works but unable to remove the collar from the base for cleaning, etc. Is there a video on how to remove the collar? It just rotates. Thanks.
@@KitchenAidCa Thanks for your reply. Will confirm once at home but we have replaced the collar about 6 months ago with the Kitchenaid original p/n WPW10500387. Not sure if this helps. It is this collar that we cannot remove from the base but only recently.
Sorry for the late reply. It is model # KSB655CS (Kitchenaid Architect). Unit is working fine except we are unable to remove this black collar off the base for cleaning. Thanks.
Hi Khumar! Thank you for the information. If the collar is not able to be removed it may have been fused on if the blender motor got hot. It may require a new jar assembly that comes with the collar and jar gasket. That part number is W10501700. We hope that helps! Thanks! ~ Angie
My glass jar won't fit tight on the collar. I replaced the gasket, but it is still too loose. I would replace the collar, but it costs almost as much as a new blender. What could be wrong?
Hello, @richpart! Thank you for reaching out to us. Kindly e-mail us at Canadasocial@Kitchenaid.com with your model, serial, and phone number; Please include case/review ID #582209 in the subject line. We look forward to hearing from you! -Max
Hi Ndumiso, We apologize for your experience with the blender. Could you please private message your best phone number, your full address including the postal code, email address and the model and serial number of the blender? We are happy to look into this for you. Regards, Teresa
Any suggestions. I can't budge the glass from the collar. It won't turn. Blender makes an awful noise so I'm sure the problem is there. It probably can be fixed if I could unscrew the glass from the collar. I hope you can help with this problem. I've even tried leaving the collar on the base to get more leverage to turn the glass and free it from the collar. It will not move.
I have gone through two KitchenAid proline thermal control jar and they both eventually started leaking 10 months into usage. Petrified to put more money into these crap jars. Thinking of buying a new blender from another brand. Sworn off shitty KitchenAid products for life now
