I have seen them live multiple times, including recently at Summer Breeze. A truly amazing and first-class band.
Saw them first time about ten year ago on nova rock and multiple times since then. my last time was also summerbreeze and i LOVED their setlist! so much heavy and old stuff *_*
Saw them last September and once more back on the the First of 2012 dual-headline with Trivium...both excellent shows

Well now you have to react to Meet your maker, Colony and Only for the weak. In Flames has a long history of absolute banger and their music style has changed quite a bit over time.
And pure light of mind... not their best song but an absolute jam

That song is devastating and beautiful.
Anders' harsh vocals are absolutely unreal. I haven't heard anyone do them like he does. The tonality and extreme distortion is exactly how I would imagine someone being set on fire would sound if they screamed. Just pure agony bordering on coming apart into pure distortion. It's really amazing and perfectly incapsulates how I feel on the inside when I hear this band.

Will support giving their track "Only For The Weak" a listen. Its got very poignant lyrics about mental health. But I'll also say some of my favorite songs of theirs are "Sober and Irrelevant" and "The Chosen Pessimist" because they showcase Anders' cleaner vocals which i actually love
I hope this starts a journey through all In Flames' music, whether it be personal or on TH-cam, its definitely worth it

The singer is Anders Fridén from Gothenburg. I have seen In Flames 7 times live. This guy is only in this video and I´m Swedish. There are a lot of good groups from Gothenburg. I love the old song "Swim" and many others.
InFlames is my favourite band of all time. I even have a big tattoo of the raven from the album cover to Sounds like a playground fading. The men in the music video isn't the singer btw. I believe its a swedish actor
In flames has been my favorite band for years, I saw them live last year front row, I yelled out to Anders “you’re my hero” and he responded back “and that guys my hero too”. Gotta love it

This band didnt win me over,until i heard Cloud Connected by them,after that i have followed theyr new releases with huge interest. May i suggest a future live reaction with them? In Flames - When The World Explodes (ft. Emilia Feldt) I just know that you are gonna LOVE that performance.

Cloud Connected is in the setlist of At Sticky Fingers and At Hammersmith...which are legendary in itself but mainly they're BY FAR the best live performances that Anders has put out where he absolutely nails every song. (they used these concerts to put together their In Live We Trust album)
It was only 1-2 years before his vocal chords gave out and he had to get operation on them...while his studio vocals didn't suffer from it until the mid-2010s his live performances on the other hand were never the same since the operation
No matter how many times I listen to in flames, I still get chills. One of my top favorite bands. And if you want a good song, stay with me by in flames is a must check out

There is another band that has a video filmed like this, I believe they did it first as well. It's a band called Parkway Drive, and the song is called Wishing Wells. You need to see it, it's amazing.
I saw these guys in Vancouver 20 years ago, such a good show.
Storytime: Had the pleasure of seeing In Flames in concert and during the show there was the best crowd surfing I've ever seen. There were always multiple people up and moving. Plus this was at a House of Blues where that thing is generally heavily policed. They were fantastic.
I heard the album when it first came out but only recently watch this video. What makes it good for me is its simplicity.

I am dying to see a Singer react to a song from SOAPF because the melodic scream vocal style he uses there is the most difficult vocal style I know...Deliver Us and All For Me have the strongest vocal performances imo, but the whole album is full of him seemlessly transitioning between screams and cleans and the aformentioned mixed style (mostly the latter). I have heard other mixed techniques, usually a balance 50-50 between screams and cleans but his style feels like giving 100-100 as you have to pour out your soul with every line...one song in that style and I'm exhausted af, trying two in a row literally gets me light-headed midway into the 2nd.
Also I just realized they probably put the glitching effect over the actor's eyes to make it seem he doesn't blink (at least some of the times)
The no blinking aspect of this video is what makes it unnerving
A kind of similar approach in terms of video (more personal even) is „wishing wells“ from parkway drive. You should check it out! In that video the lead singer is also the person in the video.

One of the actors is actually the Icelandic voice of Mr. Krabs.
The video idea was pretty close to a video which came out about a half year earlier, if I'm correct.
I mean "Parkway Drive" wirh the song "wishing wells".
Both songs are stunning, and the only biggest difference to this one is that" In Flames" used an actor for the video while Parkway Drive showed their real singer in the clip.
Maybe you can check out Wishing Wells by Parkway Drive, too.😊

In Flames is one of those bands where people are always arguing if 'old' In Flames or 'new' In Flames is better- this tends to happen when a band has been around for almost 30 years and had multiple roster changers in that time. I've been a fan since the late 90s, and I have to say, I Am Above is one of my all-time favorite songs by them, new or old. It's a great choice!

Yea, I didn’t listen to this song in rehab over and over again while getting sober and dealing with my ex having an abortion without me knowing while I was in rehab because of said pregnancy. Ahhh good times.
Their fry screams are definitely very clearly annunciated. It takes a ton of practice to get to that point, as fry screams are naturally just white noise, you have to learn how to place the consonants to get it to sound like actual words. I've been listening to them on and off for years, sometimes I fall out of metal for a bit but when I come back they're always there lol

And yes. In Flames with Anders as a singer prides themselves as actually singing clearly while growling and it's how they distinguish themselves from every other band. Combined with the Nordic melodies or pop influences in their music. Making them easier on most people's ears.
