Thanks for reacting to one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Their '90s and early 2000 stuff is unmatched. Song from them you're gonna love is My Sweet Shadow. Other stuff to recommend: - Colony - Clayman - Take this Life - Worlds within the Margin - Jester's Race - December Flower (one of the greatest solos ever recorded) - Ordinary Story - Bullet Ride - Vacuum Honestly too many songs. Can't go wrong with anything almost off of Jester's Race, Whoracle, Clayman and Colony albums.
Nice one Andy! "The quiet place " and "Cloud connected" from this era are similar, melodic and quite catchy! "Come clarity" has a nice mix of acoustic with some heavy and for old school In Flames, because a lot of people would recommend/prefer it, try "Embody the invisible" or "Swim"!😋
The first in flames song i heard was "metaphor" made me liked this band but "only for the weak", "cloud connected" "crawl through knives" made me fall in love with in flames
Great reaction and I love In Flames. I don’t listen to them as much now but I used to love them around 2006 and onwards. This is probably one of my favourite older songs and it’s one of the first songs I made myself learn on a Jackson Warrior 😂💪guitar back when I was playing but mostly just all the rhythm guitar lol. Didn’t quite have solos down then. I think you just got me back into In Flames now I’m downloading a bunch of stuff to listen to again haha. Cheers
Only for the weak is one of my favourite In Flames songs. The Quiet Place is my favourite of theirs, and they put out a banger single for their newest album called Meet your Maker, and it's an amazing song. Definitely worth checking out.
Inflames is my happy place. I survived college because of them and Soilwork. Bad day? Bad Test? Throw on these bangers get some rage out and prepare for the next day.
"Meet your maker" is a really good one by them. It's a single off of their newest album, and man, I tell ya. Anders still sounds amazing 30 years later. You said you're not big on harsh vocals, but his are really clean and clear in that song. (More so than in the older songs) And his singing is on point. Really melodic and catchy. Definitely worth the listen.
old school In Flames was so good. Their newer stuff can't compare. Halo Effect is more In Flames than actual In Flames is, at this point. (Literally. all made of old In Flames members, and they keep that original Gothenburg metal sound)
The "In Flames"-style has evolved with literally every single album and every one of them is "In Flames"...you're using "In Flames" synonymous with 90s Gothenburg melodeath and that's your mistake, not theirs. Halo Effect sounds more like early In Flames because, unlike In Flames who have long moved on, Gothenburg melodeath is the genre they firmly reside in...with, as you pointed out with Halo Effect as an example, many bands within that style sounding relatively similar. Meanwhile In Flames' discography is more unique than any of them, with every album having it's distinct sound/style which isn't just unlike any other band's sound, they're all unlike each other aswell... I feel genuinely bad for them that their self-proclaimed "original" fans are haunting them for literally almost two decades now for having the audacity to not write the same kind of music for their entire career...they became the most popular band from the Gothenburg scene, gained so many more fans by making their own path/style. You're clearly not the majority, but an unfathomably loud minority that wants to remind everyone who listens to In Flames that they broke out of your beloved cage and you want them back there...under every single In Flames song on YT you will find massive amounts of love and apprechiation from actual In Flames fans, and in between like cockroaches are the Gothenburg diehards that can't stop whining about the one band that got away while claiming they're In Flames fans aswell Sorry for the rant, but man...20 years...move on!
@@AgeofJP Not reading all of that. But. go off. The new In Flames does not sound as good as the old stuff. And i use "old stuff" pretty lightly, since Come Clarity was actually a really good mix of melodic and brutal. Going from songs like The Jester Race to This is Our House is NOT EVOLUTION. There's absolutely no way to spin that. and you can be like "omg you're not a fan!" all day. I don't care. No. im not a fan anymore. I don't listen to them anymore. So I don't care. They DONT sound good anymore. They're lucky to drop 1 or 2 decent tracks per album. Where as when they had Jesper, Peter, and Daniel, they had full albums that were solid masterpieces. Sorry for the rant, but, no. their new stuff is not "evolution."
@@erra7552 lol you also apologized for ranting, and I guess it's alright if you don't consider yourself a fan anymore but the "better or worse" aspect is purely subjective and by no means a matter of fact like you put it...for me Sounds Of A Playground Fading is by far their best album (Anders' studio vocals are on a different level there) and every single album until Battles was overall great. To me the 2002-2010 era was the best, because unlike the oldschool era that is when their music was the most unique and not just gothenburg melodeath anymore. And yes it absolutely was evolution, if you look at the change album per album it was was never a night and day difference. It was gradual and you disliking it doesn't change that...and all of it was for *their* best. Their peak popularity wasn't the late 90s and early 2000s
@@AgeofJP Peak popularity doesn't mean shit for quality. Lots of people like Justin Bieber, but do numbers = quality? no they don't. If popularity determined quality, McDonalds would be considered the best hamburger place on the planet. and Coke would be considered the best drink on the planet. If you look at their lyrics, their song composition, and structure of riffs, etc, they've absolutely just turned into a cut/paste formulaic mess. Where as with everything from Come Clarity and back, they were more concerned with creativity, and complex sound. Now we have "This is our House." and it's fucking cringey, in my own subjective opinion. Sounds of a Playground was passable. It was half-and-half. But it wasn't consistent by any means. And, im not the only one putting things in a "matter of fact" box. It is subjective. Sure. It's your opinion they've "evolved" simply because they suddenly have more numbers. It's my subjective opinion they sold out to a watered down, nu-metal mainstream sound, in order to keep the paychecks coming in since all the core talent left the band. And if it's subjective, like you say, then why are you concerned if i'm a Real Fan™ or not? like. who fucking cares? That shit gets outgrown in high school. If you like their new watered down shit, then listen to it. No one cares. But there's lots of us out here that still prefer their old sound. and we prefer Dark Tranquillity. and Amon Amarth. and Soilwork. Bands that haven't forsaken their creativity to create cringey high-school anthem lyrics. You can have that shit. I'll listen to Halo Effect.
Holy smokes. Ok. So Swedish... Dark Tranquility. Maybe start with Atoma. Staying Euro, Insomnium has to be on the list. I'm certain you listened to Lacuna Coil, if not, their new release is a $*ING banger. You've got a good set up, definitely looking g forward to seeing some more of ya. ALOHA!🤙
Colony/Clayman is peak In Flames for me, although I started with The Jester Race. Their stuff from the 90s - early 2000s is incredible. Dark Tranquillity is another Swedish band that I highly recommend!!
Always been one of my favorite Inflames songs. That whole album is great, Clayman. Together with Man Made God, which is just instrumental. But the riffs are so catchy. I think Inflames was great up until Reroute To Remain album in like 2001 or something, after that they haven't done anything good and the guitarist who made most of the stuff left the band because of alcoholism. Sadly. Guy still struggles with it. Cause they formed a new band like 2022, The Halo Effect (the old In Flames members) which is really cool. But he hasn't been in on some livetours because of the same reason still now in 2022.
Cool reaction. Was Fan in beginning. But loss interest in mid 2000s Have not bought anything from them in 18years. Amon Amarth is GD band to look out for. Been fan of them since 2000.
Clayman was the first ever CD I bought (been a while, I might be wrong though :D ). I'm 35 now and was about 12-14 when it came out I guess (can't be bothered to google it :D ) . In Flames and Children of Bodom drove me to metal music. My personal favorites from this album are Suburban Me and Brush the Dust Away. Only lyrics videos are on youtube I think, but they are briliant songs if you want to get into older In Flames. :) Previous albums like Colony, Jester Race and Whoracle are also brilliant. I stopped listening to In Flames after the Come Clarity album, not because they are bad, just not the same. I am officially old I guess :D
Nice reaction...I personally found the song mid. Right now I'm stuck on the new GnR song Perhaps. I love the song, but its bittersweet. While I'm so glad we finally get new music from them, it pisses me off thinking about all the time wasted while they got their shit together ya know?!
The song that changed the band. I kinda lost interest after 2004. They had such a unique sound but i find their newer stuff pretty weak. No original members has affected their sound.
In Flames We Trust! 🤘This brings back so many memories. My first song of In Flames. Second was Pinball Map and rest is history. Clayman album is 🔥🤘
I listened to In Flames in high school (Finland) back in early 2000s and my favorite songs where, this, clayman and cloud connected. Good shit!

Dude I'm disapointed there is no satelates and astronouts in your list ...
Another Swedish band I think you'd love and they were also heavily inspired by In Flames are 'IMMINENCE' they're something else.
Lovely to see in flames taking over a soul. Happens mine every time !
I remeber watching the clip in TV during some metal programme, 120 DB or something like that :) that was pre-TH-cam era :) yeah, Im old
The live version of this is truly amazing. Been jumping along with it at shows many times, and it's such an experience.
love In Flames!!!
such a great, catchy song, it was a big hit among rockers back in the day...nothing overly complicated, but hey it just works ! (cheers from Hungary)

IF did make a HUGE return towards the "good stuff and sound" with their latest album. Hopefully they continue on that road.
I miss old Inflames so damn much, brings me back to my early youth 😢
Thx! Great reaction for Great band!
la triada sueca IN FLAMES-ARCH ENEMY-DISSECTION es sublime (se que hay otras , pero esas 3 son las que megustan haha)

- I am Above
- Meet Your Maker

TH-cam needs more In Flames reactions.
Anders growls back then. Yes. Still listening.
Hi, nice to see old In Flames! Newest album haves hint of old ones. Try "Meet your maker" next.
In flames is fricking awesome, do more old in flames please, anything from reroute to remain, clayman or colony
No love for My Sweet Shadow and Jester Race is a slapper
Some Swedish bands, Avatar. Arch enemy. Soilwork, Ammon amarth, the halo effect ...
Opeth is my favorite swedish band. Maybye start with Reverie / Harlequin Forest.
Harvest would be an easy start. Or perhaps doing a double with Windowpane & Blackwater Park.
IN FLAMESSSSSS!!!!!!

Only for the weak makes the people sitting or standing still also jump live
Check out Ordinary Story, Scorn or Colony from Colony, their best album!
Pagan's Mind, "Osiris' Triumphant Return"
Finally
Late to the party it seems - but Soilwork is almost similar to In Flames, and I would recommend their Light the Torch song.
Great band great song!
Bjorn with that odd as hell Serj like hair style has got me laughing
Love this song

Listen to the new album Foregone, thats a bit of the old sound again .

Jester race or whoracle
Orbit Culture reaction please 🔥🔥🔥
An other great Swedish band is orbit culture. Listen and do a reaction to the shadowing. Thanks
Maybe give Hardcore Superstar a try? Start with "We Don't Celebrate Sundays"
Fire walk with me
🤘 🇬🇧

Consider doing some scary story reaction videos just to try something fun and different.
This woman is missing out on a lot of In Flames! She needs to go back to the nineties. Maybe like Episode 666.
Great vid. Plz do stay with me. I reckon you will love it, or System
There is no In Flames after Jesper left. Everything after A Sense of Purpose is bad fan fic.
Para com isso in flames é top do primeiro ao último álbum
