Nothing a good setup can’t fix. Personally I’d go cheap guitar expensive amp, I want a good speaker with quality high gain and most cheaper amp gains rely on quality high output pickups.

For any beginners watching, generally a good amp and cheap guitar is preferable so don’t take this as gospel. If you use a dirt cheap guitar it’ll sound bad whatever you do but let’s say a €200 guitar through an expensive amp will sound much better than a €1000 guitar through a €50 amp. Always judge on a case by case basis and make up your own mind based on what sounds better to you! The sound and more importantly the playability is what matters not the price
That Fender Amp is actually really good. It's not expensive but I have one that is 20 years old (if that is a princeton 112) and it still Sounds amazing.

The cheap amp he used is the fender frontman 25r. I've owned one for over 20 years and it still sounds great and runs perfectly. The overdrive channel is remarkably crisp and is a great tone
He most definitely played and still plays AC30's. This guy just doesn't know how an amp operates and that's why it sounds so bad. It's not the guitar, it's the amp settings. Dude has no idea what he's talking about
The premise is good However a vox is an amp that is notorious for needing very high volumes to sound like they do on the recordings you hear them on It’s a tube amp You need to crank it Very unfair
Here’s an idea….how about 50/50, an average priced guitar w/ average amp, I can promise you it’ll sound better than both especially since nothing as expensive as the fender or the vox sounds better than anything thats midrange
It all depends on your goals, if you’re playing for fun, you should try to save for a more expensive guitar with a cheaper amp because the guitar will be easier and much more comfortable to play. If you’re chasing tone, the amp/modeler will always be the most important factor. Single coil vs humbucker is the second

I got my first in a set it came with a guitar a small amp and a cable. It was a christmass gift supirisingly sounda decent after setting up the amp properly.

Not one of the ones who've said something about it, but it's likely because if you're testing tonal qualities between amplifiers, just playing 4 power chords isn't the way to do it. Not saying it has to be some ripping solo but you're leaving a lot on the table with SLTS
