  • Never miss a fault : Watch your pupil (Part 3 & Standards Check)
Here the PDI is learning some core teaching skills to never miss a driving faults.
On the ADI Part 3 & Standards check test one of the core competencies under Risk Management is
"was the trainer aware of the surroundings and the pupil's actions?"
By learning how to watch your pupil's Eyes/Hands/Feet the PDI or ADI will never miss a fault.
In this driving instructor training session you'll learn how to first watch your pupil then conduct your own instructor checks to identify all faults and prevent any potential safety critical incidents.

That was quite informative and what with phones and a Go Pro, was also quite entertaining.

I really enjoyed this lesson. I loved seeing your ability to adapt to the situation, Howard. So many great teaching characteristics; communicating clearly and articulately. Always adapting even without anticipation is a really good teaching skill. Your comments about how drivers observe when in the passenger seat is totally real! I can still hear Rob C in my head when I am in the passenger seat! Observing all the time and watching other people drive. Thanks for the videos as always Howard.

I haven't read all the comments, but an entourage at a funeral is a cortege. It applies to any convoy of vehicles or walkers as well. Thanks for the wonderful content. Please keep it coming.

My first test i looked before they done their checks, second test 2 days ago and after watching this video i focused that much on looking after i didn't pull them on not checking blind spot (i normally do), examiner said he would passed me if i said something, so little tip is keep practising till it comes natural and say somehing every time you spot something, the examiner said my checks was all good (thanks to this video) just needed to say "STOP", O well hopefully 3rd time lucky.

Howard Howard Howard. I’d like you as a teacher. You’d straighten me out. Unsure of current ADi. Competence is not brilliance

Thanks to both for the video, enjoyed and learned a lot, wish i lived closer to get lessons, my part 3 test i made the mistake by looking before the pupil. 55:44 / 1:02:12 "The irony" haha.

Hi Howard, thanks for the video. Very helpful. I would like to ask: when you drive an automatic car and we stop for traffic or traffic lights, can you apply the parking brakes and select N (neutral)? Or you have to keep the car in D (drive) ?
    Regards
    Sav

It is a fault rolling back in first gear because you are not giving any warning that your planing on rolling back to anyone coming behind you.
