Welcome back Fellow Fanatixs! In today's video we dive back into the #RecastTchalla Discussion as Comedian Katt Williams addresses the absence of T’CHALLA In the MCU Black Panther Franchise. We’ll give more of our thoughts on why we believe T'challa should absolutely be recast. In this video we breakdown the faves behind the movement
After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, Marvel Studios made the decision not to recast the character of T'Challa never specifying if we would see him outside of BP2. The decision was made to honor the late actor and the iconic legacy he left on the MCU. Do you think Marvel is making a HUGE mistake by not recasting T’challa? Let us know down below!

Greetings! I'm the elder black, excuse me copper color man who responded to one of your videos a few years ago about the recasting of T'Challa and what he meant to me growing up. Well I think I finally have come to terms that I may not ever see my favorite hero in live action ever again in this lifetime! Being over 50 I waited most of my life to finally see this unprecedented showing of not just a superhero but a fictional role model. Marvel/Disney clearly has an agenda has done a disservice to melanated men and boys across the globe! And for what, fear of who we are fear of what we could be? Quite frankly if there is an answer to that question is if you constantly invite that fear into everyday existence by promoting the worst of us instead of celebrating the best of us than shame on you! To my people, what responsibility do we hold as a people when we don't call this BS out and stand together. Black Panther was an awesome platform to change the mindset of so many, I remember walking out into the theaters and seeing little kids with their black panther masks noticing that it wasn't just little black boys but little white boys, little Hispanic boys etc... it made me feel great inside realizing that maybe this is a step forward and I welcomed that. There's so much to say and do but time is fleeing so because of that I just choose to put it out of my mind and go back to the time when I enjoyed the comics. 😢

We have to be very careful on who we support. Just because a show have a lot of black writers. That don't mean that they will write strong straight black men and women characters. Some black writers are in love with writing black trauma porn.Because they love pandering to a mainstream audience.

I understand that kind of writing from African filmakers because of the obvious but I dont get it from the diaspora film makers when they do it for about every project. Especially first world diaspora. Black Panther was so loved because it addressed alot and had a redemptive arc while Wakanda Forever played like the cheap black gloom and doom from any early 2000s Nigerian movie😅

@@mrsam0496 We must understand ws as a concept. If we don't really understand it in all of its small and big concepts .We will be confuse on everything else. Just the idea of a black man being King. A dark skinned black man being King. And all of his subjects are all in different types of skin tones and colors. That means that there is no division between skin pigmentations and labels under this black nation and king . There are some of our people who are so lost . They don't want to see real black unity on the silver screen. Self-hating negroes who only want to get into the house. This is all that matters to them . Writing black trauma porn in their mind the golden ticket to acceptance in w Hollywood.

Another thing, I saw another creator touch on, fiege stated Chadwick transcended all iterations of tachalla so they used his death to “ kill off “the character entirely. Chadwick used the character to plant a seed of change and that goes against what Disney had planned.

I’m a single father and the only game I play (besides when the kids wanna play against me) is marvel’s contest of champions, where there’s only two “different” T’Challa champs… OG T’Challa (from the comics) and the civil war T’Challa from the movie. Made a song and video inspired by the game and encouraged by my youngest son on my channel called You Ain’t Ready.
Marvel Studios is scared of the effect that the Black Panther movie had on Americans that are Black. They don’t want that character to help liberate us like one of Bob Marley’s songs did for an African country. They’re scared.

What Disney has done to Star Wars and Marvel is completely ridiculous! Especially what they have done to Black Panther. Thank you for checking these ignorant folks who think T'Challa was only raised by women like you said his uncle is a major figure in his life! Disney is a part of the good ol racist media industry, they will do whatever they can to make sure a Black man is not seen in a positive light. They will kill this franchise just like they are trying to erase T'Challa from every iteration comics, video games and the animated universe its a public lynching and execution hidden behind Chadwicks death! Man you have no idea how much I appreciate you speaking out on Disney's determination to erase T'Challa.

I agree. Honestly, as a single black father, I quickly discovered that my presence is often unbelievable for the general population. While my child's mother is not completely absent, 90% of the people we encounter almost try and force his mother into the equation even though she chooses not to be. This is also annoying because most of my friends are present in intact house holds yet they get comments like they are oddities. I wish we had more representation in media, in general, because we are definitely here.

@@SergMilli -Speaking as a former Marvel employee who sat in executive meetings, I know the truth about how little value was attributed to T’Challa and Storm.
Myself and a former colleague Dave Vonner both saw a list (printed with comic images on a post card) where T’Challa and Storm were respectively ranked 6th and 4th among Marvel’s Top 10 most important characters (back when Marvel was divvying up who to sell to the studios).
T’Challa, the 6th most popular character (as ranked in that late 1990’s list) generated over a billion dollars in movie tickets in 2018, and yet they refuse to recast him.
I would imagine that both T’Challa and Storm would be higher in rank if that list were to be made today.
I have worked at different toy and entertainment companies, including Marvel for almost 29 years.
Re-casting is simply good brand management. You don’t cut off supply of a product that is in high demand unless you are making a conscious decision to kill said brand.

The Black Panther movie was supposed to be out around 2009 originally, but it didn’t get made till 2018.

never expected the movie to resonate with EVERYONE, otherwise they would not have had so many revolutionary thoughts expressed in the movie.
      Now they’re walking it back.
If your character is in demand, the only reason that you would stop using said character would because you’re making a conscious decision to kill the brand.
You’re talking to someone who was forced to listen to a White executive blast Halle Berry for crying during her OSCAR acceptance speech the next morning, while we were going over the prospective product launch for the Fox X2 Movie.
Halle Berry only ever got a doll and an action figure from X-Men 1. She never got another X-Men Storm figure again after that meeting unless it was a re-release from the 1st movie.

Great points. Love the critical analysis. I am actually optimistic about the future of the franchise. I realize Wakanda Forever was not 1.3, but it was still 800 something and deserved a sequel that would have far more opportunity to flesh out a solid storyline with the rawness of Chadwick's passing behind us. I would like to see their third crack at the story. Maybe a Toussant storm romance. I think there is still opportunity to get a family nucleus in play, but that remains to be seen. Even if I look at this purely in the vacuum some major issues...
    1) None of these women have any leadership experience, Mbaku is the King. If they wanted to someone to train the boy then they should have kept Ramonda alive.
    2) Why is he living in Haiti at all if the plan is to raise him to be King? its not even like Nakia was taking him on a world tour so he was learning about other cultures and governments...it was just doing aid work in Haiti.
    3) Is the kid getting a time jump? I do think going Avengers Next with Junior, Love Thorsdottir, and Morgan Stark as your cast would be better then the Young Avengers with Kamala, Kate Bishop, Wiccan, Etc for the Casuals.
    4) Its funny how Coogler thinks what is important about T'Challa is losing the father at the young age...not the super genius or tactical mastermind. Just being a Boy King so to speak.

I have been saying the same thing about Afro characters in the MCU never having the dad around nor stay around. Lot of characters do not keep their parents in various ways but there are still exceptions. At least we can find out why they are not around.
Steve's parents got deleted by war, we know what happened to Tony's parents yikes, Natasha's are mentioned, Clint's mother appears in a deleted 'Hawkeye' scene yet his father is never mentioned but at least he gets to have his own full family, Kate Bishop's dad was in the wrong room at the wrong time and her mother raises her. Bruce Banner's parents most likely went the route of the comics yikes, Shang-Chi's parents were important to his story, Kamala Khan's as well. But they don't have the lurking narrative our community is pretty much stereotyped in, as you mentioned, absent fathers.
Monica Rambeau's dad not being around, let alone with no explanation is intentional. I kinda thought about Blue Marvel being her dad who needed to leave for some cosmic threat and went M.I.A., but I do not like the idea that this would mean the Monica I have been wanting adapted in something for years before the MCU debut would not be in the MCU, it'd be a technical multiversal half-sister from another man's balls, like MCU 199999 Star-Lord is 616 Star-Lord's multiversal half-brother. We need a change-up, but the people in charge seem to be ignoring what we really need.

Well, check out the TV commercials. They feature the same things you are now talking about-absent dads. Nothing new, indeed. It's a thing that was a part of the military draft during the '60s and '70s when states withheld 'Public Assistants' funds from black women if they did not identify the father of their children. So, you see the fact of highlighting this issue, which I am personally pleased that through the movie 'BLACK PANTHER,' you have seen something that many either do not see or purposely overlook, which I wouldn't know. I am somewhat up there in age and have heard and seen many things designed to invent or demote the black family structure in its appearance to other nationalities as a fear. The fear of black families progressing is a nightmare to others who are not of the same skin, and this will always be presented in a manner that will show black families in a poor light.

I would love to see variant T'challa/BP land in Wakanda, meet Shuri/BP and T'Challa Jr., and feel he should be noble and leave Wakanda rather that cause confusion. BAST finally PHYSICALLY appears and snatches up variant T'Challa & Shuri to the sacred Kingdom of the Wakandan Dead. BAST offers variant T'Challa position of King of the Dead, and tells Shuri she is the BLACK PANTHER. Variant T'Challa accepts and is turned into a wraith over the Kingdom of the Dead who can become physical & able to manifest the living spirits of Wakandans & animals (against supernatural or cosmic threats) that died on Wakanda soil as his army only when Wakanda/BP needs him. This makes variant T'Challa a part of the Horror MCU, along with Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, Bloodstone, Black Knight, Moon Knight, etc.

Cap lost both his parents as a young man. Iron Man will always have unresolved issues with the loss of both his parents young. I don’t give a damn how old Thor is, his ENTIRE family is gone.
